1 Chapter 1

Nakano Ren. Last name Nakano. First name Ren.

A man that loves manga, anime, manhua manhwa and light novels. He would discuss them at school or at different events with his friends.

There was nothing special about Nakano Ren until an accident caused the impossible.

One night, Ren was in his room doing his usual activity of playing games on his computer. He was struck by a lightning bolt during a clear night.

Ren, who was playing, died instantly.

However, the next moment, Ren woke up…as a child. A six-year-old child.

For the past eleven years, Ren has been in the world of Draconic Deus.

For the past eleven years, Ren has lived an ordinary life.

Life was great, but Ren wanted more; he was in the world of Draconic Deus and living in Kuoh; he wanted an adventure, something exciting to happen.

Ren's dream has been to travel through the Multiverse, help people and bring hope while surrounded by his harem.

Alas, Ren was an ordinary person; he wasn't even born with a Sacred Gear or had any latent magical powers.

Nonetheless, Nakano Ren has a life worth being envied by the male of Kuoh Academy.

Rias, Sona, Akeno, and Koneko are a few of Ren's friends. They knew that Ren was an ordinary person, but it didn't stop them from befriending him.

Those four ladies were the light of Ren's life at Kuoh. They were fun being around, but unfortunately, the time for trouble was about to happen, and there was nothing he could do to help them. He felt helpless.

Since Ren befriended Rias, he has tried helping her in the most subtle ways.

For example, Ren would hint about how great it was to train the mind and body to achieve a better self. That did nothing at first.

Eventually, Rias got it into her head that someday, she may have to do something drastic to end the engagement she never wanted.

A year.

It took Ren a year of subtle hints to get Rias to think about training her Peerage, but it was okay since she started training them earlier.

It should help Rias deal with her situation better, right?

Unfortunately for Ren, this meant Rias had less time to meet and discuss their interests.

As Rias was busy training, Sona saw the changes in her and found that the cause was Ren.

So, one day, while Ren was heading home, he caught the eye of Sona.

Sona was brilliant; she figured out that Ren was giving Rias subtle hints about strengthening her Peerage.

How does Ren know about the Supernatural world? Sona didn't know, but she found no malice in Ren's action hence why he caught her eye. She was intrigued.

From there, Sona approached Ren and got to know him.

Before long, Ren and Sona had a good relationship.

Present time. Kuoh Academy. Nakano Ren's class.

Ren was in class. He was bored out of his mind since he had already studied everything being taught. He was one of the top students in his previous world in high school.

While Ren had his head down on his desk, he heard a female voice on his head.

[Sign-in System binding…5%...10%…50%...100%]

[Congratulations, Ren, for binding the Sign-in & Mission system]

"Sign-in & Mission system?" thought Ren. He read books about Sign-in systems.

"What are your functions?" asked Ren. He spoke to the system in his mind. As someone who loves to read Chinese novels, he was familiar with the system troupe.

[As my name suggests, I am a Sign-in & Mission System. Once a day, you may Sign-in. Depending on the location of your Sign-in, you can get different rewards. As for the rewards you can get, there is no limit to what you can receive.

For example, if you Sign-in in an office building, you could get a chance to be rewarded with the building's ownership or stock shares of the business within the building.

Or, if you Sign-in to a shrine, you could get a blessing.

There is no limit to what you can get.

The Second function of the system is the missions. You may be given a mission from time to time. If you accept and complete it, you will gain the rewards associated with the mission. There are no punishments for failing a mission.

Rewards for missions are set and can be viewed before acceptance of the mission.

Only a single mission can be active at any time. No missions will be available until the currently accepted mission is completed]

"That's cool. Is there a way to increase the amount of Sign-in per day? Or how many mission I can take at once?" asked Ren.

[There isn't. I'm a system that has been perfected. I will have no future upgrades. What I am now is all you get]

"Well, it's not good being greedy, but I'm interested in the missions," thought Ren. At least now he had a way to get stronger.

[Ren. Do you wish to Sign-in?]

"No, not now. I'll Sign-in when I get home," replied Ren. He has someone in his house that he might be able to get a fantastic first Sign-in.

Ren hasn't been this excited since the day he met Rias and Sona for the first time.

Ren sprinted home when school ended.

Ren lived with only one person. He neither had a father nor a mother.

They died during an accident when he was twelve.

But a year ago, a particular Dragon snuck her way into his home.

Ophis was nearby as she smelled the fragrance of the cookies, cake, and pies Ren had made for Koneko.

Ren's nervousness that day was immeasurable. He didn't know if Ophis would suddenly attack him or not. He didn't even want to move a single muscle.

When Ren arrived at his apartment, he saw Ophis staring at him. She stood at the entrance all day waiting for him to return.

"Ophis? Did you wait for me all day by the door?" asked Ren. Although Ophis scared the living daylights out of him in the beginning, he cares for her now. They've been living together for a while.

"I had nothing to do," said Ophis.

"Haaa…You know you could have watched Tv instead of waiting for me at the door. I know there are many shows you like to watch," sighed Ren.

"I know, but I don't enjoy them as much when you aren't around," said Ophis. Most of the things she does, she loves because Ren is there.

Ren smiled as he patted Ophis' head. He then remembered why he had hurried home today.

"Ophis? Do you mind if I give you a hug?" asked Ren. He hoped hugging her while signing in would give him something great. Even if it didn't, he liked Ophis hugging him.

"I don't mind," said Ophis. She hugged Ren before she even spoke.

While hugging Ren, Ophis nuzzled her face on his abs.

"System, Sign-in," thought Ren.

[Congratulations Ren for signing in for the first time. Sign-in location, Ophis, Ouroboros Dragon God]

"So, it is considered a location! This was a great gamble. Otherwise, I would have wasted a good Sign-in," exclaimed Ren. He only thought that it could be a location. He didn't have proof that it would work.

[Yes, Ren. Due to the original size of Ophis being a colossal dragon that people can get on top of, it is considered a Sign-in location]

"Hold on. If that's the case, I can also Sign-in on top of Great Red," said Ren. He was thinking about it. He didn't know how to do it, but he wanted to do it.

[Yes, it is possible. However, you wouldn't be able to do so for the time being since you can't survive the Dimensional Gap]

"I knew that. I don't even have an ounce of magic on me. Anyway, what did I get for the Sign-in?" asked Ren. He was excited to see what he got.

[Ren, your reward for the first time has exploded! You received Infinity Core]

"Huh? What's that?" asked Ren. He didn't know what it was. But it sounds amazing.

[Infinity Core – A core born from infinity. It produces mana in infinite quality and quantity. The user also has no output limitations and has complete control]

"That's pretty bad-ass! But, how am I supposed to use it when I know nothing about magic?" asked Ren. He now had infinite energy to be used for spells, but he had no spells.

[Ren. Do you wish to integrate the Infinity Core?]

"Do it. Fuse the Infinity Core to me," said Ren. He was ready to feel what infinity mana feels like.

[Fusing Infinity Core…1%...2%...3%...10%...20%...]

The fusing of the Infinity Core was slow.

Ren understood why since it wasn't a simple item that could be worn.

Ophis, who was in the room with Ren, was shocked. The energy that once didn't exist in Ren was now rising rapidly.

Ophis didn't know what had happened, but she was happy. The feeling she felt about Ren was similar to her own. It felt as if it was heading towards infinity.

[Fusing Infinity Core…80%...90%...95%...100%]

[Ren. The fusing of the Infinity Core is complete]

Ren felt the infinity in him.

It felt like…nothing.

"That's weird! First, I felt huge amounts of power, but then it just felt like nothing," said Ren. As the fusion started, he felt powerful initially, but upon completion, he felt nothing.

"Infinity…How?" asked Ophis. She wasn't complaining. She was attracted to Ren before. Now she was even more so.

"It's thanks to you, Ophis," said Ren. He winked at Ophis.

Ren then remembered that he still had no spells.

"This is good and all, but I can't even use my infinite mana since I know nothing about magic," said Ren. He sighed.

"No matter, I have more chances to Sign-in and get some magic," thought Ren.

Seeing Ophis stare at him, Ren decided to pet her head. He smiled and headed to the kitchen to cook something to eat.

It didn't take long before the food was ready.

"Come on, Ophis. Eat. I made your favourites," said Ren. He likes cooking for Ophis since he can push his cooking to the limit.

Ophis tasted the food made by Ren, and she loved it.

It is easy to tell when Ophis likes something since you can see it in her face. The ordinarily flat look would have a lovely smile.

After dinner, Ren headed to his room to finish his homework. It didn't take long since he knew everything about the subjects from school.

When it was time for bed, Ophis slept in Ren's bed.

This has been the norm for a long time.

Ren couldn't wait to see what he could get when he signed in at Kuoh Academy.

When Ren arrived at Kuoh Academy the following morning, the students were not in a good mood.

Ren spoke to one of the students and was shocked.

As someone that traversed to Draconic Deus, Ren knew how the story was meant to go, but his presence changed the direction of how things were meant to go.

Hyoudou Issei died and wasn't revived by Rias Gremory.

On Issei's date, he received a flier for the Gremory summon circle but lost it along the way.

Hence, Issei didn't get to summon Rias as he died.

Ren may not have a close relationship with Issei, but he was still a classmate.

To hear that someone close to him died for real wasn't easy to take in.

The good mood of Ren wanting to see what he could get for signing in to Kuoh Academy was dampened.

Nonetheless, Ren never knew Issei personally as he worked hard to avoid him and his friends.

[Ren. Do you wish to Sign-in?]

"Do it," said Ren. He spoke to the system in his mind.

[Congratulations Ren for signing in. Sign-in location, Kuoh Academy]

[Ren, your reward for signing in to Kuoh Academy is Boosted Tyrant (Modified Boosted Gear/Incursio)]

"You know, with the two Sign-in I've done, I suspect that you're trying to make me into an unparalleled being," joked Ren. He chuckled.

[Yes, Ren. That's my purpose. You shall become an unparalleled being not only in Draconic Deus but throughout the Multiverse. However, all the things you get are up to your luck]

"Seriously?!" said Ren. He was shocked that that was the purpose of the system.

After Ren's shock had subsided, he asked the system a question.

"By the way, can you explain the [Boosted Tyrant]?" asked Ren.

[Boosted Tyrant – Armour in the form of Incursio Second Evolved Form. The armour acts like the Boosted Gear, boosting the user's abilities and allowing them to utilise Boost, Transfer, and Penetrate until they reach their limit.

This armour isn't Incursio or the Boosted Gear.

Tyrant and Ddraig are non-existent in the armour. And there are no weapons.

However, their powers and abilities are present.

Free Manifestation - You can manifest parts of the armour at any time. For example, the wings. You can manifest it without activating the entire armour, and it would allow you to fly.

Adaptation – The armour can adapt to many situations to protect its wielder. Whether it is poison, high pressure, time stop, etc. The adapted ability will be part of the wielder with or without the armour.

Boost – An ability that allows the user to double their powers until they reach their limit, whether it is their physical abilities or magic. It has been described as enabling the wielder to surpass the capabilities of God and the Four Great Satans for a temporary amount of time.

Transfer – An ability that allows the user to transfer their increased power to other people or items, increasing their capabilities. The transferred power can even be performed on multiple targets simultaneously. However, about 70% to 80% of the boosted power will be transferred.

Penetrate – An ability that allows the user to bypass all defences. It is also capable of penetrating through attacks and causing damage to the core of opponents, potentially resulting in fatal injury]

Ren was speechless.

It might not have been the actual Boosted Gear or the Incursio v2, but it is more impressive and combines both their abilities.

After his Sign-in, Ren went through the day as usual as everyone did.

At the end of the day, Rias Gremory went to Ren's class and wanted to speak to him.

So, Rias invited him to the ORC.

Ren agreed to meet with Rias. They were friends, after all. There was no reason for him to refuse her invitation.

In the ORC, Rias and the other spoke to Ren about being Devils.

Of course, it was no surprise for Ren. He already knew about them.

However, Rias and the others were slightly disappointed in Ren's reaction.

"So? Ren, what do you think?" asked Rias. She still had her wings out as she showed them off a second ago.

"Well, the thing is, I already knew you were all Devils. This is nothing new for me," said Ren. He looked at them as he usually does.

"You already knew? How?" asked Rias. She didn't know how Ren would be able to learn about her being a Devil. For a long time, Ren showed no talent for magic and no indicators that he knew about the Supernatural world.

"Although I didn't have any magic, I knew about the Supernatural world long ago. My question is, why did you tell me about your Devil status?" said Ren. He was confused as to why Rias would reveal herself as a Devil. He didn't have any magic. At least to their knowledge. No one can feel Ren's infinite mana.

"It's regarding one of the student's death," said Rias. Hearing about Issei's death scared her a bit. Ren was someone she cared for more than she realised. Knowing that Ren was human made her worry about his well-being. So, the only way she could help was by turning him into a Devil, which will give him abilities beyond his capabilities.

"I want to know if you are willing to be a member of my Peerage," said Rias. She hoped Ren would say yes, but she could respect his decision.

"You're a bit too late. If you asked me yesterday, I would accept in a heartbeat. However, even if I accept it now, I don't think it would be possible," said Ren. He has the Infinity Core integrated. Rias wouldn't be strong enough to turn him into a Devil.

"Can I ask why you think that?" asked Rias. She really wanted to protect Ren.

"For now, I can't tell you, but I can let you try to turn me into a Devil," said Ren. He didn't want anyone to know about his Infinity Core for now. He was not strong enough to protect himself from the stronger Devil, Angels, Fallen Angel, and other pantheons.

Rias nodded at Ren. She knew people had a secret they weren't willing to share.

So, Rias took Ren's offer to try and turn him into a Devil.

A Bishop piece was not enough.

A Knight piece was not enough.

A Rook wasn't enough.

Eight Pawns were not enough.

It frustrated Rias that she didn't have enough pieces to turn Ren into a Devil.

Rias didn't know that even if she had 8 Mutated Pawn Pieces, it would not be enough to turn Ren into a Devil. Infinity Core isn't something that can be quantified with Evil Pieces.

"Haaa…I don't have a choice but to drop it, I guess," sighed Rias. She didn't have a choice. But she was happy that Ren was willing to be part of her Peerage if it was possible.

Although, Rias couldn't think of what might have happened that caused Ren to be powerful enough to overpower the power of the Evil Pieces.

After all, Ren has no magical signature.

"Ara? Ren, I just realised. You are gutsy to approach us knowing that we are Devils. I like that," said Akeno. She then looked at Ren as she licked her lips.

If Ren was an average person, they would have avoided the ORC and the Student Council since they are Devils, but he didn't.

At least that was what Akeno thought.

"Ha-ha-ha! Akeno, you jest. I have the Ouroboros Dragon living in my apartment. Why would I fear a few Devils?" said Ren in a joking tone. Even if he didn't know Rias and the others were Devils, Ophis shook the fear out of him when she appeared in his apartment for the first time.

"I-I'm sorry. I think I heard you wrong. Could you repeat what you said a second ago?" said Rias. She thought she heard Ren saying the Ouroboros Dragon was in his apartment.

Rias wasn't the only one shaken to the core due to Ren's words.

Rias and her Peerage knew the names of the strongest being on Earth. And Ouroboros was one of the top strongest beings.

"I said the Ouroboros Dragon lives in my apartment," repeated Ren. He was enjoying the faces Rias and the others made. It was sensational.

As Rias and the others were shocked, multiple light flashes were seen. This is Ren taking pictures of their faces.

Ren quickly made back-ups as he knew Rias and the others would make him delete the photo.

There was no way Ren was losing teasing materials.

After a bit, Ren spoke once more.

"I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" said Ren. He wasn't but it was for the best.

"That was not funny, Ren. Do you know how scary if one of the Dragon Gods was truly here at Kuoh? Many troubles may arise," sighed Rias. She was glad it was only a joke.

Ren chuckled nervously.

A few hours later, Ren was done meeting with the ORC, he headed home.

Along the way, he received the system prompt.

[Mission – Survival Course

Objective 2 – Explore the Beast Labyrinth Completely

Reward – Crest Ring

Objective 3 – Eliminate 5000 Beasts

Reward – Body Tempering Manual

Objective 4 – Defeat the Boss Monster

Reward – High-Speed Regeneration

Accept? Yes or No]

"Huh? I just got the system, and I already have an available mission," thought Ren. He was curious as he read the description.

"The World of Beasts? System, is that in another world? What kind of world is it?" asked Ren. He was curious about the World of Beasts that the system talked about.

[Yes, Ren. The World of Beasts is in another world]

[The World of Beasts –A world occupied by powerful animals transcending their mortal husk and becoming Beasts. Werewolves, Nine-Tailed Fox, Death Worms, and Manticore are a few of the Beast one might expect to see]

"System, if I was to accept the mission and get sent to another world, what would happen to DxD?" asked Ren. He didn't want to miss any actions that were happening shortly.

Without Issei in the mix, Ren wanted to help Rias with her engagement.

Ren was smitten with Rias the moment he met her.

However, Ren is quite selfish. He was also interested in Sona and Akeno.

Earlier, when Ren didn't have the system, he knew he didn't have a chance to fulfil one of his dreams, but now it was different.

Much like Issei, Ren's dream was to have a harem of beautiful, strong, and courageous women who could stand by his side no matter how difficult life became.

[Ren, you don't have to worry about missing anything. Time would stop in the DxDverse]

"That is great! I'll accept the mission, but do not initiate it until I say so," said Ren. This would be his chance to get stronger. He needed to experience a real fight and get the Book of Magic Knowledge.

[Understood, Ren]

Ren made his way to his home.

Even though Ren was excited to go on an adventure, he still wanted to cook something nice for Ophis to eat before leaving.

Ren knew that the time would stop, but he did not care and thought cooking for Ophis was far more important. Especially when it would not take long for him to make a scrumptious meal.

Besides, Ren wanted to prepare the equipment that he would need.
