1 Prologue

The year is 222 of the new world calendar. It has been more than 200 years since the Great Calamity that changed every thing. 200 years ago when humans were still at the peak of this world an meteor fell from the heavens and crashed into the ocean bringing about the end of the world as you know it. Not only did a great tsunami devastate the entire planet, but earth quakes shook the world. New land masses appeared as if rising from the bottom of the oceans. There was something in that meteor that caused the entire world to mutate. Starting from the depths of the oceans creatures evolved, mutating into behemoths, gaining supernatural abilities. After that came the land, animals and insects alike grew bigger, became more aggressive. Even the plants evolved, some turned into monsters that ate flesh, others grew so huge they towered over the tallest of skyscrapers. Long gone were the days that humans ruled the planet.

Cities and countries alike fell one after the other. It wasn't like the humans didnt fight back, it's just that human weapons were no longer as effective as before. Most evolved creatures either had hides or shells to hard for bullets to penetrate, or were to fast for humans to even react. Humans would die 9 times out of 10 before they could even kill one mutated creature. some countries even resorted to nuclear weapons but that did more bad than good. what wasnt killed only grew stronger from the radiation.

There was nowhere to hide. The skies were filled with predators that could wrend planes and jets in half just with their claws. As it was looking like it was the end of humanity, the first mutated humans made their appearance. With the powers and abilities they gained they helped humanity fight for a claim to the planet. 200 years later though humanity is still not the apex of the planet they are not at the bottom. With this rebirth the planet became stronger, more full of life. New resources were discovered each year. Humans became smarter than they already were, inventing better weapons to combat the ongoing transformation of life. More and more superhumans were born and the battle for the planet continued. Though they were still not the apex, humans were no longer at the bottom of the food chain.

The sky belonged to the many varieties of flying creatures. The sea belong to the behemoths, and the land contested by the many kings that walked its surface. Though the humans have reclaimed a place in this world there are still places that are deemed forbidden zones. The Desolate Desert, the Immortal Forest, the highest point in the world Mount Heaven, The Seven deadly Seas. Each of these places were ruled by the utmost apex of predators, or was shrouded in an impenetrable fog of mystery. Many left to explore, but not so many returned to tell the tale.

Humans and superhumans alike lived in thier newly built cities heavily fortified with energy powered weapons. In the last 200 years of evolution a new race was born, the demon race. They were the race that thrived in this new world they were naturally stronger than humans, they could subdue the beast around the world more easier. They also lived in there cities and waged war against the humans for the past 200 years.

It is a new era, though the demons and humans still wage wars it is not as frequent as before. Humans and demons still have their differences but their has been communication between the two parties in the last 10 years, a ceasefire agreement has been signed.

In the human civilization society is separated by the haves and the have nots same as before the Great Calamity. Only now there is an extra added hierarchy, the Rankers. Those who have awakened a superpower or ability. They too are ranked, those who are born with a powerful ability that allow them to reach the top and those who are born with a weak ability sit at the bottom. Some people in this world are born with multiple abilities, and some are born with just one. Regardless when everyone is awakened their potential is then measured by a machine and ranked.
