1 Trashy Novel

This is the end?"

"Are you fucking kidding me!"

My shrill cries echoed through the dark of the night as my fingers furiously tapped on the screen of my phone. What am I doing? Simple, I'm just going to leave a really nasty comment – criticizing them for writing such a trashy and generic novel in the first place, and then completely ruining it even more while writing a real shitty ending.

All the mind games, revenge plots, murder mystery, love polygons, being flushed down the toilet just because the female lead and male lead decided to suddenly put aside their differences and drove off into the sunset together. The motto of 'love conquers all' being the plot armor that solved all their conflict as soon as it has begun.

Seriously, at this point, I don't even know why I picked up this novel. I'm definitely going to kick my best friend – Rhyna's ass tomorrow for recommending this book.

The author was so damn lazy. They didn't put any effort into building the backstory and personalities of the characters or the overall setting of their novel. The book was set in a medieval European style timeline, the characters were quite generic and go absolutely gaga over anything the heroin does and will go to any lengths t protect the female lead.

Yes, the male leads as well the plot was solely driven forward by the sole purpose of possessing the heroin, as her choices and wishes don't even matter at all.

I had some hope for the novel when I discovered that, the heroine is not your average pushover female lead like the other novels I've read so far, instead she had a strong sense of justice and was quite headstrong. She fearlessly butted heads with both the male leads and the various antagonists when they crossed her path. She didn't back away from giving them a piece of her mind, and that's what made the male leads draw them towards her like, like a moth to a flame. She was Melissa Van Daviallo, the heroin.

"Fuck it! I've never felt this pissed off at someone!" I groaned out again. It's a wonder how my mm hasn't barged into my room yet – yelling at me to sleep.

"Amel, I'll ground you for a month if you don't stop your yelling. It's 2 am for God's sake!" My lovely mother yelled at me while slamming open the door of my bedroom.

"Geez...mom. Chill out already!" I sighed tiredly.

"Why are you still awake? It's way past your bedtime."

"Mom...I'm freaking 19 years old. I'm too old for a bedtime!" I sharply retorted.

"Yes you do," my mom replied smugly, making me raise my eyebrows in confusion. "As long you as live under my roof – you follow my rules."

With that being said, mom dropped the mic before leaving my room.

I really wanted to stay up more and rebel against my mom's wishes, but, since I'm such a good daughter – I decided not to cause her any more trouble, and go to sleep instead.

My last thought before slipping into oblivion being – that I'm going to curse the author even in my sleep.
