Intro and How it Works

Yo, it's Wildly Laughing!

As someone who's practically a shut-in and has no life outside of books, I'm also the guy who's the best person to go to for recommendations on good fanfics! (And other works on the web).

(Also, for anyone who hates on my lifestyle, please remember that it's December 27th, 2020 at the time that I'm writing this and almost everyone in the world has adopted my shut-in lifestyle, lol).

I got inspired by "My Self-Insert Stash" here on Webnovel by "aweirdweeb" and decided that since people are always asking for my rec's I might as well do the same as him and put it all out in a somewhat official list out here on the web.

Note: If you want recommendations for a specific genre/type of story or fandom, just post a comment in one of the chapters. I'll give you a rec' if I've got one that I think fits it.

Here's how it works:

1) I'll post a synopsis of the story and why I chose it.

&

2) I'll post the 1st chapter of the fanfic along with the title, author, the link, how many words it has, and the rating. (If you're under 18, please don't read the M rated stories until you're of age, there'll be plenty of time to ruin your mind once you're an adult)

3) I'll classify what kind of writing style it is (if I have time). Narratives, Drabbles (of which I won't recommend any because I don't like them), Details Lite, Drama Heavy, Battle-Packed, BGGS (Bad Grammar Good Story). If you're not sure what any of these mean, I'll update this chapter with my own definitions of these terms as I recommend stories.

Writing Styles:

-Details Lite: Light on the details when it comes to descriptions of environments, imagery, etc. Ususally they have strong point-of-views where it actually feels like you're experiencing things from the character's perspective. They also tend to be easier reads and generally don't take as long to finish.

-Character Driven: The story is mainly about the interactions between the characters and not, say, on any battles or action. That doesn't mean there's none of that in the story, just that it's not the main focus. It's driven by the characters.

-Plot-Centric: Almost the polar opposite of Details Lite. It's got the whole shebang. Details, Imagery, a compelling story and plot. It's the whole package, everything that you'd expect out of an actual book and not just a fanfiction. The only downside being, it might be a longer read than the works that other writing styles would make.
