1 The Start

Hazel Usof was resting in her room, phone in hand.

"Dang it, Wifi is still out."

The Wifi has been out for a week, Hazel had to relay on downloaded stories on her phone.

"Hmm... I haven't heard them in a while... guess i'll give it a peek." Thought Hazel.

Hazel opened her door a crack, seeing that no one was there, she left the room she had been staying in for 4 years. Hazel looked out of the window and saw cars destroyed, buildings crumbling, and people with green skin on the streets.

"Oh my god... What's happening?!" Hazel said to herself. "Is it a movie??!! Wait no movies wouldn't make actual buildings collapse!"

Hazel was thinking when she heard a bang on the door. Hazel cautiously approached the peephole and looked out.

There was a guy with 1 eye and blood was trickling everywhere.

"Ahh! A-Are you okay sir?!" Hazel said to the man.

The man then started pounding more fiercely on the door. Hazel was scared but she looked at the man again.

"W-Wait a minute, t-that man looks like.... a zombie." Hazel gasped. "N-No that couldn't be! It's all sci fi novels! Nothing is real! It's all imagination!"

The man started to pound the door more making the wood creak. Hazel knew that he would break down the door. So she grabbed a kitchen knife.

"I-If you can still here me, t-then d-don't come in here! O-Or else i-i'll retaliate in self defense!" Hazel shouted.

The man was about to break down the door. Hazel grabbed the knife and opened the door.

"Sorry!" Hazel accidentally brought down the knife onto the man's head. The man fell down immediately and Hazel closed the door.

"Oh shoot... what have I done?!!" Hazel panicked.

Suddenly a message popped up in front of her in a blue screen.

"Congratulations, You have been chosen to have the "Golden Finger" System!"

"Huh? Wait... g-golden finger as in the protagonist golden finger?!"

"Correct, would you like to see the explanation on what happened?"

"U-Uhh.. y-yea?" Replied Hazel who was thinking it was a dream

Then information flooded into her mind. A organization tried to recreate zombies with a virus a week ago. The virus got out and everyone was infected. Soon 3 days later zombies with supernatural abilities appeared. The humans also who also had supernatural abilities appeared.

"A-Ah.. s-so my parents died?" asked Hazel.

"Yes."

Hazel felt sad, even though she shut herself in her room for 4 years. Her parents always respected her choices and tried to comfort her. Hazel was letting the information sink in.

"I-If you don't mind me asking, what does the golden finger system do anyway?"

"It does exactly what protagonist's in a novel would do. It makes you stronger,quicker,smarter, and makes you look cool."

"..."

"C-Cool?"

"Yes, cool.
