10 chapter 10

It took a while but we finally reached the Orphanage, from a distance all you could see were thick shrubs but a misshapen slate roof peaking, and than we continued to the dirt path, the house itself was so old and poor that it was surprising how it was still standing, apart form that it had a welcoming feature about it, with its wooden fence and everything in general.

There were no houses around it and if not for the shrieks' of children you would think it was empty,

well that and the smoke. There were tons of children here, some were products of one night stands and others were from warriors who had lost their lives protecting the pack .

I on my own time had never come here I mean it wasn't even safe, the orphanage was so far away from the pack and so close to the border, there hadn't been a rouge attack in years, but if there was the most dangerous place would be here, the last rouge attack had been the reason most of the kids were here.

when we arrived all the children flocked to my mother and asked questions, about me, what we were holding, why she hadn't come for some time, were the Luna was, why the Luna hadn't come with us, my mother crouched down and tried to answer a lot of the questions they were firing at her.

I always knew my mother loved kids, I mean she had three but at this moment as she was surrounded by the kids I could tell how much she actually cared for them, when I met Delcan and the others I never really spent time with her, I mean I always knew Delcan and the others but...I guess I thought I was all grown up.

A group of women came out to see what or who had caused the children's noise to escalate, I presume they were the caregivers their eyes glowed a golden yellow meaning they were ready to defend showing just how unsafe these kids really were,

"Lady Genevieve, we did not expect your visit for another week"

"I know but the Luna and I realized it was getting chilly and wanted to make sure the kids had things to keep them warm"

"as always we are grateful Lady Genevieve", some of the women snuck glances at me and were talking amongst themselves.

One of the caregivers came out with a bell and began to ring it,

"Okay children that's enough inside, its getting late", they all complied and walked into their home. The woman then walked towards us and gave my mother a warm smile before looking at me,

"Hello Farrah, my name is Janis, I'm a friend of your mother, I hope we can be friends as well", I gave her a tight smile and tried my best not to be rude but seriously had my mum been trying to get 'friends' for me or something.
