3 Heartless.

Laura's Pov

Heartless. I think I have never really understood the meaning of this word or the gravity of it.

When my dad died, I thought I understood it when my mum said death heartless but no...i didn't. Because now is when i really understand it's meaning.

Imagine being with someone in the morning and hearing about his death in the afternoon. Imagine being left alone with two young children to care for. Imagine how hard it'll be to explain when they ask you where their dad is. Imagine how hard it will be for a pampered wife to transform to the breadwinner of the family. I really want to cry but i can't.

I was just leaving the shopping mall when i felt some eyes on me. It was a normal thing because my family was one of the most popular in town. What i found weird was the flooding of Ray's security personnel in the mall. They were coming for me. It felt funny at first until i understood that something must be wrong. The first thing i confirmed with them was the safety of my children. I heaved a sigh of relief when they confirmed that they were safe. I'm not sure if at all it was because of ignorance that i didn't ask about Ray. Maybe it's because we were together two hours ago so i didn't think anything could have happened to him.

The men in black led me out of the mall. I guessed they were protecting me from the media. As i was almost inside the car, I overheard one of the media guys asking me how i felt about my husband's accident. Really!Are these guys crazy. I gave them a mocking glare as the door was slammed shut.

There was silence in the car.

In that silence i thought about the events of past few minutes.

No! I shook my head in denial. Nothing could have happened to Ray.

The silence was suffocating and because i needed a distraction, i took off my phone to check on some entertainment news only to find many tags and messages.

The news was all over the Internet, 'The CEO of the biggest Advertising Agency in the country R&L, Ray William, was involved in an accident.'

"No!It isn't true."

Thomas, the driver heard me.

He didn't say anything.

"The hospital now!" I yelled at him.

When we reached the hospital, the doctor was leaving the operation room.

"Mrs Williams," he called and i nodded as a que for him to go ahead, "we tried our best but..." My system seemed to have shut down even before he finished his words.

I saw Thomas receiving an envelope from him which i didn't care to know what it entiled.

Thomas held my hands guiding me towards the car.

That's how I found myself in my room now thinking about that term: heartless.

Dario's Pov

I was still in my room watching some latest matches on e-sport when the program was interrupted.

'The CEO of the biggest Advertising Agency in the country R&L Agency, Ray William, was involved in an accident.'

Some of the items on the news was that the car of the youngest heir of The Anderson's Dynasty collided with the CEO's car but he had minor injuries.

I literally ran out of my room and took my other car. I had to confirm whether my brother was fine.

When i reached the hospital entrance, I saw several security men...Yeah Ray William was an important person in the country.

Just as i was almost going to my brother's ward, I overheard the doctor's conversation with a lady who looked quite familiar.

"Mrs William,"

The lady had nodded.That's why she looked familiar...he was the wife of The Ray William.

"We tried our best but we couldn't save him. He left this."

The doctor was handing an envelope to her but it seemed her mind had shut down. She didn't make a scene by crying out loud as others often does. She was silent.

I gazed at her for long. I could see the sorrows in her eyes. In that silence, my heart bled for her. I had a strong urge to hold her in my arms and share her sorrow with her...that's insane but it felt weirdly right.

Before I could act on my urges, another man in black held her hands and walked her outside the hospital.

Even as she walked away her sorrowful eyes remained engraved in my soul. Those eyes...that pain...i don't think I'll ever forget them.

"This way Mr. Anderson,"

The voice of the nurse brought me back to reality.

For the first time i had forgotten about my brother because of a woman.That has never happened to me before.

My brother was fine. I confirmed that.

Immediately i got into his ward, he asked me if The Ray William was going to be alright and his expression broke my heart after i told him that the man had already died.

He had also turned into a zombie state just as Mrs William did.

Heartless.

Death is really heartless. I hope the two zombies would recover from that soon.
