2 Chang Qi

His name was Chang Qi. Although the name suggested that he was Chinese in origin, his home country was USA. Yes New York City, USA. Surprising yea? Not so much.

Its 3018. In the past, there was a big compromise with all the big powers. There was a World Summit which was held in Paris, France. During that World Summit in 2055, it was decided that all the nuclear weapons should be dumped on Moon. It meant that the superpowers like USA, Russia, China, India and all others who had nuclear weapons had to part with them. It was a hard decision but it was also a valid decision as it was a matter of survival of the whole species. It was the main point of that Summit. After that World Summit of 2055, it was decided that there will be one every 5 years. In 2065, at the World Summit, it was decided that any person with a valid passport can visit any place in the world, other than restricted places of governments. And to become a citizen of that country, one just needed to stay there for 5 years and provide the proof. That also meant that they can't leave the country even for visiting any other place. Although there was no restriction to go out of a country, the procedure to become a citizen was a bit more harsh.

Chang Qi's parents were both Chinese, but they planned to move to USA. They had no choice as their friends and family moved to USA before them and had been pressuring them to come and become a US citizen. Although they left China, they never forgot their traditions and values.

Chang Qi was born as an American, but was given a Chinese name due to his parents. He lived with his mom. And he had no brothers or sisters. He didn't had many friends either.

All this history of Chang Qi was on records. But this wasn't his original history.

The Lamborghini came to a halt in the parking lot of the Blue Ridge Platinium Mall. Chang Qi came out of it. It can be said that Chang Qi's handsomeness was sky high. He was 6 feet tall. He cannot be considered slender, but he also cannot be considered really buffed. It was the perfect point in between slenderness and buffness. He was like the dream guy of every mature girl. Not only his body had that perfectness written all over him, but his face was as handsome as his body required it to be. A face which was white as snow, eyes deep blue which had so much depth that anyone can be drowned in it. The distance between the eyes, nose and ears was as perfect as it comes. If any girl looked at his tender lips, then they would surely want to kiss him till she was out of breath. But that was just his body appearance. What about his personality?

Cold. Although his eyes were perfectly aligned with his face to make him look handsome, they emitted coldness. They looked as if they were dead. He never smiled. He just gave a feeling that whatever he looked at will die. Fortunately he also had that charm to make girls fall for him. But he rarely used it and today was the day he was going to use his charm. Why?

Today was the sale of the first batch of equipment for the VRMMORPG that was called Shou Chronicles. People were all crazy for the game and especially the first sale. This craze for the game was because of the fact that all the first purchases will have random chance for winning exclusive gifts. These gifts were random. Truly random. It means that you have a chance to obtain a legendary stuff from the start of the game. Yes! Fairness in this age was as ancient as dinosaurs in this era. Moreover there were two lines to get the equipment, one is ordinary where the price increase was 50% of the original price. The final price after increase is 75000 Jin. The second line was for truly rich people. The price increase was 1000%. 500000 Jin. That was a crazy amount of money. But the win factor was that you get 2 more chances to get legendary stuff.

Jin was the currency decided by the World Summit in 2995. Everyone decided that if the currency is same then it will benefit all countries so that there will be no need for stock market. At that point, stock market was just a place where rich got more richer to the point where many governments were under the control of those rich people. After the abolishment of all currencies and replacing it with Jin, governments got control, but those who lost to rich families became monarchs. Although the monarchs refused to accept Jin in start, in the end they had to accept it because if they didn't then their business will go down the drain.

Anyways, as we know that our Chang Qi came from upstate NY, he obviously went to the second line which was for truly rich. The line was totally empty as nowadays not many rich people came out to shop. Everything was done online. Although this equipment had online sales, it started 1 week later. So the only way to obtain them for now was to go to the shop. So here he was. As for, why he had to use his charm? It was because he wanted to get the exclusive Galaxy edition. This was because this equipment was a ring, and there were only 2 rings which were Galaxy edition, in the whole world. And one of them ended up in New York. The other one ended up in Shanghai, China. Whoever gets it will be lucky as hell because the chances to get legendary stuff were 5! Yes, 5! But the price increase was an extra 0 in the end of the percent increase. That is 10000% increase. Daylight robbery. Fuck, that is 5 Million Jin! Compared to the average monthly salary of 5000 Jin, this amount is insane.

But Chang Qi is not a normal person so he dared to buy this piece. The only thing is that it all depended on the salesman if they want to show the piece to him or not. He approached the counter. There was a 20 year old girl doing some work on computer. She was 5 feet 8 inches. It's the average height nowadays so it was not that surprising. But she looked gorgeous. You can't say that she is the most beautiful, but she will be in top 10% if girls are ranked based on looks. When Chang Qi appeared, she took her eyes off her computer. Her eyes hinted disappointment for a bit, but just in a fraction of second it turned into a fake happy expression. Well almost all salesmen are like that.

She welcomed happily, "Welcome sir. I am Jane. Are you here for the equipment for the VRMMORPG Shou Chronicles?"

"Ah! Yes. I am here for that… Jane." Chang Qi looked like he was taken aback for a bit. But inside he was like Damn, i'll have to use this technique or else i won't get that… Nooo, I WILL get that Galaxy edition.

"So which edition do you want? We have various kinds of edition on display. Come here and see our catalog. All of them gives you 3 chances to get extraordinary gifts." She directly asked and gave me a catalog.

Seeing that no one was behind in the line, Chang Qi leaned on the counter and seductively told Jane, "We both know that all these editions are very good. Not to brag or anything but what if I have more balance in my account than the total amount obtained after selling all your stock?"

Seeing his behaviour, Jane was shocked at first. But after a moment her white cheeks turned pinkish and she shyly said while stuttering somewhat, "Ohh.. oh yea… We do have Galaxy edition… B..But I can't give it to you… Si"

"Qi. Call me Qi." He interrupted.

"Qi, sorry I can't give you that edition as it was reserved by someone else."

Chang Qi was a bit annoyed but he had his tricks so he stayed calm and said, "I can give 10 Million Jin for that piece. And 2 Million more for your understanding."

Hearing him, she almost dropped her jaws with astonishment. He was literally bribing her!

He added after a moment, seductively, "Maybe if you don't mind I can take you for a date sometimes."

These days bank balance and handsomeness were the key to impress almost any girl. No doubt she got impressed and almost fell in love.

She was as pink as a Lotus, full of shyness. "Ohh.. I would lo.. Like to… but it is booked by the President's son."

At this Chang Qi's expression changed, back to its coldness. No anger at all.

Before Chang Qi can say that he will take the Tiger ring, Jane bend over the counter and almost whispered, "We have a more precious equipment. It's a ring named 'Universal ring'. We were told to sell it at a price of 50 Million Jin."

"50 Million? It's insane. Have you lost your mind? Why would I even want that?" said Chang Qi coldly.

Jane thought that he is growing angry and quickly added, "The plus point is it can give 8 gifts."

Hearing Jane, his cold expression changed to genuinely happy state. He was so happy that he hugged Jane unknowingly and kissed her on cheeks and said, "Done Deal dear Jane! 50 Million Jin!"

She was so shocked by that kiss on her cheeks that she even forgot about that 50 Million Deal!
