8 Siblinghood

Christian Park has been in the entertainment industry for five years now. He spent his first three years playing small, insignificant roles that didn't really pay much. But finally, in his fourth year, he got the role as second male lead in a youth film.

Gina Park is Christian's older sister. She spent the past years watching as her beloved younger brother struggled in the industry. She watched as he worked hard only for his roles to be taken by people with a higher background. She just watched, believing that someone will take notice of her bright and talented little brother. That was until she saw her brave and strong brother crouching in the corner, crying after having been rejected for a role he practiced really hard to get. Gina could no longer bring herself to watch on the sidelines as her sibling's hard work was thrown out the window.

Now, just like her brother, Gina had quite the good looks. She had gotten an offer from an influential but perverted director about half a year ago. He could give her anything she wanted in exchange for her body.

As Gina watched her brother struggle, she made the decision to take the director up on his offer. That night, Gina felt pain. But she went through with her decision in order to pull her brother out of his slump.

She went home the next morning, sore, bruised, and mentally exhausted. But when her brother came home with a bright face and told her that he had succeeded, it was as if the tiredness completely disappeared.

After Christian's fame was stable, Gina wanted to put an end to the immoral relationship she had with the director. But the pervert threatened to ruin Christian's career if she didn't comply with his wishes. And so, her agony continued for months until she had enough of being threatened. The piled on mental trauma had destroyed her. She no longer glowed with a healthy glow like she used to, she developed anorexia, she lost a lot of weight and she became depressed.

Christian would care for her when he could but he was always so busy and she would never open up to him. This continued until Gina succumbed to her depression and committed suicide on the day her brother became Best Actor.

Christian Park came home that day, expecting to share his happiness with his older sister. Instead, he came home to a group of grieving family and friends. Gina had died and left him behind.

Gina's best friend Lia approached him in rage. She slapped him across the face and told him everything his sister had done for him and his career. "You saw her in that state and never once did it occur to you that your sister needs you more than the cast does! If it weren't for her, you wouldn't even BE on that cast!"

After hearing her words, Christian was furious. "I NEVER ASKED HER TO. IT WAS HER OWN CHOICE." He felt as if his sister's actions had completely decimated his ego. In his eyes, it made all his hard work over the years in vain. Christian thought that he had reached the pinnacle through his own efforts but turns out, it was only because his sister sold her body like a prostitute.

He didn't attend her funeral that week.
