The car trip was silent nerves were hanging in the air. The fear of seeing her step mother was the only thing on her mind. She hadn't said a word to anyone all morning. The car pulls up and when they step out of the car they hear yelling Emma instantly knew how it was. "Emma you little brat, you've ruined everything! Life was just fine before your mother died and you showed up 3 years ago. You ungrateful little brat, you've taken every thing from me" it was her step mother, her worst nightmare right in front of her. Emma froze when she saw her for the first time that day she was expecting the worst to come but nothing happened except for the verbal abuse. Her father lightly tugged her forward. urging her to walk into the court room and sit down.

As she sat next to her father in court, she notices her step mother's hateful glare from the other side of the courtroom. She couldn't focus on anything that was being said, only her step mother's hate filled eyes.
