4 Short Story #5

It was a late Saturday evening, Algar who had earned himself a break was sitting within a bar, taking a drink of some stale beer.

"Ah, tastes like shit. Could never replace it though.", Algar lampooned within as he took one last gulp, emptying the cup.

As he placed the cup down on the counter, Alger felt a light tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw an average looking man with brown eyes and a bit of facial hair looking down at him.

"Algar? Alger Wilson?", the man said, stretching out his hand as if to offer a handshake.

Standing up, Algar hesitantly took this man's hand and shook it. "I am Algar Wilson, who are you?"

"Sherlock Moriarty, our mutual friend said you could need some help?"

Realizing who this was, Alger gave a slight smile and shook Sherlock's hand a lot more cordially. "Yes, I asked Gerhman for some help and he said you'd be much more qualified for my request. Did he say anything specific regarding the job?"

Taking his hand back after the handshake ended, Sherlock revealed a smirk as he said, "Gerhman did describe the job to me and said you were a professional captain."

Alger was shocked as he asked, "Did he really say I was a professional captain?"

"Of course not!", Sherlock said a little bit too loud as the other guests turned their eyes towards them. "He actually specifically told me to tell you that you were unbefitting of sequence 4 and should probably consider restarting on the Error pathway since you make so many newbie level mistakes. Really, it was quite a shock to see him talk that much! Also, he wanted me to remind you to get that artifact from the artisan finished otherwise he'd /personally/ help you in your change of career."

Alger could only let a blank expression dominate as Sherlock continued. "Really, how did you come to know Gerhman?"

"GERHMAN?! EVERY PIRATE FOR THEMSELVES!"

Hearing the mention of Gerhman, every single person in the bar revealed a look of horror as they rushed out. One pirate captain was even thrown back inside the bar as their crew ran off yelling, "Sorry Captain, but he'll like your characteristic better than ours! It's a Gerhman eat Pirate world out here!"

Even the bartender, who was cleaning the cups, began to shake as he muttered, "I promise I'm not a pirate, I'm not worth anything...I promise..."

Ignoring everything that happened, Sherlock went on to say. "Now, about this job of researching the Church of Storm's past. That'll be 10,000 pounds."
