16 Event

A certain event usually appears in an online game. Sometimes there's an event that happens once a month, every six months, or even once a year.

This is also true for the game on Cien's phone. Suddenly, an event appears, and what surprises him is the content of the event.

Because the game played by Cien has an impact on the real world, the event also happens in the real world.

The event notified by his phone is the Polaris Festival, which is one of the big festivals in the Kingdom of Huntara.

The Polaris Festival is held to commemorate the death of one of Huntara's Champions named Jesper Polaris. He was a hero who successfully stopped the Abyss invasion to the land of Huntara hundreds of years ago.

As part of the festival, there is an open market activity where traders from all over the continent of Kastia are allowed to sell their wares on the streets of Wynteria, the capital of the Kingdom of Huntara.

And Cien, as the owner of Kirana's Shop, is advised to participate in the Polaris Festival to build his store's name.

Of course, Cien is surprised because he is cursed by Hela and cannot leave Death Valley. So how can he attend the event?

Luckily, the app on his phone will teleport Cien to the festival location and allow him to stay there for a week without having to think about the curse he has.

"I can leave Death Valley?!"

This is what makes Cien very surprised. For the first time in ten years, he can set foot outside of Death Valley. Even though that place was a foreign country of the Huntara Kingdom.

He could only stay there for a week and most likely he could only live in that city–Wynteria, but for now, that was enough for Cien who missed the world outside.

Cien looked back at the notification on his phone. The Polaris Festival will be held in ten days. If he agreed to attend the event, he would be teleported one day before it began.

That meant he had eight to nine days to prepare for his departure. And as usual, in a game event, there were always goals and prizes to be won. For this event…

[Event Mission]

Sell 10 items from your shop.

Reward: 5x Mythril, 5x Mana Core.

____________________

Cien needed to sell ten items from his shop.

He paused for a moment, thinking about what he could sell at the moment. He had three types of potions that he could sell, with each type having five potions. That meant he could sell the ten items if all of the potions were sold.

However, Cien wouldn't sell all of them. He needed some for himself. That's why he only displayed three potions of each type in the shop window. That meant he could sell nine items.

"Nine," he said to himself.

After that, Cien remembered he had two pairs of Fire Gloves. But since he had promised to give one glove to Reiss as a reward for completing a task, he could only sell one pair of Fire Gloves.

'But, the Fire Glove is a rare and luxurious item. Will anyone want to buy it?'

Cien, who currently had no reputation, buying a magical item from a mysterious merchant like him would make people hesitant. They would be afraid of being scammed. Therefore, he was not confident about the prospects of selling the Fire Glove.

Cien then glanced at the spear on the display shelf in the store.

The spear was not a magical item, and its power was not as amazing as the weapons used by Generals and Champions.

He thought that the Bluminous spear could attract customers, but its price was not cheap either.

Cien did not want to sell his items at a low price. He knew the value of each item he had. Moreover, his creations, the Fire Glove and Bluminous, were already like treasures to him. He did not want to sell them cheaply just because of a mission from his phone.

In addition to the items mentioned earlier, Cien could sell various materials stored in his inventory. These materials were quite rare in the outside world because they all came from Death Valley, which was rarely explored by people.

He could even sell Hellteak wood, but he immediately abandoned the idea. The weight of the wood would make it difficult for him to carry, as he could not just bring a small piece of wood.

At least he had to bring a large piece to make potential buyers interested. This would be too much trouble for him since he did not know how to bring a large piece of wood to the festival.

After thinking it over, Cien had many things he could sell. Maybe this mission was not that difficult. However, just to be safe, he might make some simple weapons to sell as well, such as wooden spears or knives made from monster bones.

Cien happily started planning the items he would bring.

***

For the next three days, Cien paused his greatsword project and focused on making normal spears and knives to sell later on the festival.

During this time, he managed to make three spears out of Hellteak wood and one dagger from the Blackwood Stag's bone.

The three spears were simple wooden spears with pointed wooden tips. Although they seemed too plain and useless, they were actually as strong as iron because of the Hellteak wood characteristic.

Cien thought that the Hellteak spears would be suitable for low-level soldiers or adventurers, but he wasn't sure if they would be interested. Afterall, the look itself is so plain. Nevertheless, he added them to his list to provide some variety.

The same was true for the dagger he made. Even though it was made from the Blackwood Stag's bone, it was only slightly sharper than a regular dagger.

The dagger was not a luxury item, but it would be easier for buyers to purchase compared to magical items like Fire Glove or a special weapon like Bluminous, which were quite expensive.

Cien named both the spears and the dagger, calling them the Hellteak Spear and Blackwood Dagger respectively.

Since they weren't included in his phone's recipe list, he had to come up with names for them himself. However, since Cien was feeling lazy about naming them, he just named them after their primary materials.

After finishing these four weapons, Cien faced another problem.

'How do I bring these items to the festival?'

He knew that there was no such thing as a spatial ring or storage box in this world, or at least, he had never heard of them. There were no cheats like the ones he read about in novels or watched on TV.

Cien had to carry the goods himself, which meant he needed a container like a suitcase. However, with the arrows and spears he wanted to bring, it was impossible for him to use a small suitcase.

"I have to make a big suitcase."

On the fourth day, Cien spent his time making a suitcase. He chose to make it out of Hellteak wood, not only because the wood was easily found around the shop, but also because it was incredibly strong and durable. For Cien, this wood was more than ideal.

From morning until evening, Cien worked on making the suitcase. When it was finished, a rectangular suitcase measuring about two meters long and one meter wide lay on the floor of his workshop.

At first, Cien smiled because the large suitcase was finished without any obstacles. But after he looked at it for a while, his expression turned dark.

"Is this really a suitcase? Why do I feel like it looks more like a coffin?"

For the first time, Cien was at a loss for words as he looked more closely at the shape of his creation. He even started to open the large box and lay down inside.

Cien lay there looking up at the ceiling with a blank expression.

"Yes, this is indeed a coffin. And damn, lying here is quite comfortable..."
