47 Airport Fanmeet

After the long flight to Bangkok, the girls were given a short break. They got three hours to themselves, after which they had to go to the gym for their daily exercise.

The girls and their manager were seated in the economy seats of the plane. Minzy called dibs for the window seat, and no one had a problem with that and it ended without conflict… to her disappointment. Minzy loved her friendly squabbles.

The girls were catching up on their sleep during their time in the air. They all needed all the rest they could get during such a stressful schedule. If they weren't sleeping, they would watch a movie or play games with each other. It was kind of a refreshing experience for them.

After 6 and a half hours. the signs for the seatbelts switched off and the Pilot's announcement was heard.

Pilot: "Good Afternoon to all passengers. I hope you had a pleasant flight with our Airlines. You have reached Bangkok. The temperature outside is 30°C. On behalf of the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice day!"

The girls got up from their seats and took their luggage from the cabins above them; Well… MOST of them. Both Minzy and CL were not tall enough to reach that high yet. Looking at So-Young who was younger than them reaching so high, they were brimming with jealousy. So-young who felt shivers down her spine, turned around to see her two friends glaring at her. She was utterly confused. She looked at them in askance and they signaled that they would talk about this later. Of course, they weren't going to make a fuss in the midst of a crowd!

The moment they got off the plane, the two of them started bombarding her with questions.

Minzy: "So-Young-ah! I never said anything about it till now, but how are you so tall!!!!"

CL: "Yea! How tall are you right now? 200cms!?"

So-Young: "I'm only 177cms."

CL: "THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!"

Sandara, Bom, and the manager watched the three of them bicker with amused looks. While the Maknae line was talking, the three of them decided to start collecting their luggage. They trusted So-Young would be able to take care of them and herself.

Bom: "So-Yo! We are going to get the luggage right there."

She said while pointing to her right.

So-Young indicated that she understood and gave her a thumbs up.

CL: "Getting back on topic…"

Minzy: "I have never seen a 12-year-old THIS tall."

CL: "Exactly!"

So-Young: "I honestly don't know how I became so tall. Mom was worried I had some problem so we took some medical tests as well. But I was perfectly normal…"

CL: "AHHHH!! This is so frustrating!"

So-Young: "You guys don't worry. I haven't grown even a single millimeter in the last 6 months. I think I just got my growth spurt a little earlier than all of you. So just try to have a healthy lifestyle and you guys will grow tall! Anyways, let's go to our Eonnies before they forget about us and leave us to fend for ourselves!"

CL and Minzy nodded and they quickly went to find Bom, Sandara, and their manager. While walking, Minzy started talking passionately.

Minzy: "Well! Isn't this the perfect "drama" moment! We all get stranded in this Airport and no one can find us. Then we will have to use the limited amount of money we have to survive. Then after a time skip a wealthy old lady who we kindly help out will recognize us to be exchanged at birth! And-"

CL: "Hold up! First off, We all have cellphones. Secondly, WHY WOULD OUR EONNIES DITCH US! ESPECIALLY WITH MANAGER-NIM BEING THERE WITH THEM! YOU KNOW HE WILL BE FIRED IF HE JUST DISAPPEARS ON US RIGHT?!?"

So-Young: "HAHAHAHA! Chae-Rin Eonnie !! Of course, Minzy knows! Let her have her fun!"

Minzy: "Hey! It could happen you know! It's best to prepare for unexpected situations! Hmph."

To Minzy's disappointment, The three of them immediately saw Bom, Sandara, and their manager standing with all their luggage waiting for them. Their manager ushered them over and they started making their way out of the airport.

Minzy: "AHHHH! MY DRAMA!! ITS DESTROYED."

All of them just shook their heads with fond eyes at her antics.

Just before they were exiting the airport, their manager Kong Chung-Ho, got a call. He asked them to sit down and started listening attentively to the person on the other side.

After about a minute-long conversation, he looked at them with a worried expression.

Kong Chung-Ho: "Okay… I have news for you guys. Don't panic."

Sandara: "You do know that telling us not to panic is going to make us panic, right?"

Kong Chung-Ho: "Right… Okay! I take back my words. Getting to the point. Somehow our schedule got leaked. And some of your fans are swarming the entrance of the airport."

So-Young: "How much exactly is 'some'?"

Kong Chung-Ho: "Emm… About 40 to 50 people."

CL: "WOW! That's a LOT!"

Bom: "So what do we do now? We didn't hire any bodyguards or security."

So-Young: "That and we can't just let our fans cause any inconvenience to the locals."

Kong Chung-Ho: "I will have to call my boss and see what we can do. Meanwhile you girls order something from the café and freshen up."

The girls nodded in understanding. There were many safety risks involved in such situations. They did not want to harm any of the precious fans, nor did they want 2ne1 or their staff to be injured. It would be the best decision to listen to their manager at this time. Plus, their camera crew would be arriving on the next flight. They would be able to make things easier for them.

The biggest problem in this situation was that 3 of the 5 members were minors. So, there would be more harm to all the parties involved; if anything went wrong. The girls tried to make the most of their time by discussing some new ideas and improvements for their stage.

Luckily, the flight on which their camera crew was had arrived early. Thus, they could quickly discuss countermeasures. Most of their thoughts were along the lines of 'How can we quickly get them past the entrance without the fans noticing.'

Minzy: "Ahhh... So we aren't going to be able to talk to our fans? I wish we could"

CL: "Yea! Our last fan meet was so fun! I loved talking to our fans."

So-Young brain started spinning. Because she was concerned about safety, she only thought about escaping. But it was not necessarily a dangerous situation. She immediately verbalized her thoughts to the crew. A few of them were still unsure. But Kong Chung-Ho grasped her thoughts well. He decided that a fan meet would be the best remedy for the current circumstance. Now, all that was left was to find bodyguards. They tried to contact some agencies but none of them could come on such short notice. Sandara gave a glance over the camera crew.

Sandara: "Wait! aren't you all enough?

Kong Chung-Ho: "What do you mean?"

Sandara: "Well, the security team you hired is busy till tomorrow. And we do not know anyone else that can come now."

Kong Chung-Ho: "That's true."

Sandara: "And all of you are pretty fit."

Bom: "Well... I cannot deny that."

The rest of the girls examined their camera crew. Most of them were well built and had quite a bit of muscle mass. Their manager himself, Kong Chung-ho, was ripped! All of them agreed with Sandara on the first point but hesitated on the latter. It was a very big risk! But what choice did they have?

Their manager took a deep breath in and contemplated. With the camera crew here, they could make a quick dash out of the airport but that could lead to the fans chasing them and causing chaos in the airport. And if something went wrong, the ones going to be in trouble were 2ne1 and YG as they were the public figures. The best thing to do would be to lead the fans away from the airport and have a quick 30-minute interaction and leave. They had to get back on schedule too! After his decision, he called the higher-ups of YG to consult them about his plan. They came to a consensus that it was the best possible action to take.

"YG staff is competent". That is an understatement. These guys ushered the fans, got them in order, got the arrangements done, etc in 30 minutes. In the future, there would surely see compilations of "YG staff being underpaid", floating around the internet.

The fans were extremely pleased and excited. Luckily they did not encounter any crazy fans. All of them were nice and polite. These fans were just hoping to meet them. The members of 2ne1 were also joyous. Meeting fans and connecting with them, no matter how short the time was, or where they were from just brought bursts of happiness and positivity inside them. They truly loved their BLACKJACKS. The tour just confirmed it.

The girls reached their destination with no further setbacks. But, it got so late that they were just given a break. It was a very taxing day for them. The day ended, but the adventure continued.
