28 28 - A meal alone

It has been a few weeks since Shigeo returned from his very first C-ranked mission. During that period of time, his group had done several other C-ranked missions but it has been going great so far as they had yet to encounter any actual bandits or rogue ninja.

Currently Shigeo was training in his fuinjutsu, specifically the barrier sub category of fuinjutsu he had gotten from Takumi village.

Shigeo stared at one of his clone as his clone rushed him with both Genbu and Byakko. In a flicker Shigeo's clone flickered in front of him as the clone slashed an armament enhanced Byakko with lightning chakra coating the blade.

*Bzzzzt!*

The sound of lightning sounded through the forest as Shigeo was slashed through his chest. But the next second he was suddenly replaced with a log.

*Puff!*

All of the sudden various symbols flashed under the clones feet before the various kanji transformed into a lightning cage that trapped the clone.

"Checkmate" Shigeo said hidden behind a tree. He made a hand sign before the cage shrunk shocking the clone out of existence.

"Fuin Kekkai: Kaninari o shimero" Shigeo said as he watched the lightning constrict the clone. This was a barrier jutsu that Shigeo himself created through the help of the concepts and research he found in the barrier scroll.

(a/n: the jutsu means Barrier ninjutsu: constricting lightning)

There were also some other standard barriers but Shigeo wanted to combine nature transformation with his barrier ninjutsu. After weeks on end of trials and error he had finally succeeded.

"Success." Shigeo said as he went towards the charred area of where his clone was caught up in his barrier.

"This would be quite lethal to ordinary genin and chunin. Especially since they don't have any power to change into lightning itself." Shigeo muttered as he made sure the clone wouldn't use his lightning human abilities since he wanted to see how effective it was.

After coming out of the training field Shigeo then caught a presence that started to follow him. During the past few weeks since his return from his first C-ranked mission there were people that started to stalk him.

'They are at it again' Shigeo thought with a sigh.

He knew it were anbu but he didn't know what warranted him to be monitored. He himself also didn't care if the hokage were to know of his fuinjutsu abilities as it wasn't a secret that he made sealing scrolls.

Though he would always disappear and escape the anbu when he were to practice his more advance techniques like Haki, the six powers, his lightning human abilities, and when he started implementing nature transformation in his barriers.

So now the anbu's just wait outside the training ground waiting for him to complete his training, since for the past few weeks when the anbu's were to try to spy him when training he would just disappear on them. He was already advanced in his observation haki so he could already sense most of the village without enhancing them with his lightning human abilities. He could easily lose them if he so wished.

"Ugh, what to do" Shigeo muttered as he walked through the busy district of the village. Everyone he knows were busy or in a mission except for his team. Though he already meets his team almost every day, plus it was their off day.

'Shikamaru along with Ino and Choji are in a mission, the same with Gai-sensei's team. Naruto and his team are going on their first C-ranked mission. He was bragging to me about it... though why do I feel like something will happen during that mission?' He thought to himself

'Was it something important with the plot?' He thought but then shook his head and cleared his mind 'Whatever it is, I'm sure they can handle themselves. Besides they got that white haired jonin Kakashi Hatake, Gai-sensei always praises him in good light'

'Guess I'll go for some ramen' Shigeo thought. He was already in the district, he might as well go to it. He could feel the anbu following him but he didn't care at all. Why would he when he could just disappear anytime?

Entering the small ramen shop he found it empty. So taking a seat he called out to the shop owner, Tuechi.

"Ossan! Can I get one large bowl of chicken miso ramen!" Shigeo said as sat down.

"Hm?" Tuechi looked and found Shigeo before he nodded "AH, sure thing! Want a boiled egg with that Shigi?" He asked the boy clad in green.

"Yes please" The boy said as he engaged in a friendly conversation with the ramen stand owner.

"You haven't come in a while Shigeo boy! I'm worried I lost one of my regulars!" Tuechi said as he cooked.

"Ah, sorry for that Ossan. You know I've recently graguated, well for the past few weeks my team has been doing C-ranked level missions" Shigeo answered as Tuechi nodded

"So that's why huh... Well ya know Naruto said something similar on how he would be going to a ranked mission. He was all excited about it!" The ramen vendor stated as Shigeo laughed.

"Yes I know, he kept telling everyone" Shigeo said.

The two continued to converse with each other before Tuechi finished cooking and set Shigeo's order in front of him. "Alright, one large chicken miso with boiled eggs"

"Thanks Ossan" Shigeo said as he took the chopsticks and started to dig in.

"MM!" He said after he slurped down on some noodles. 'Ah, I forgot how good the ramen was' Shigeo thought. 'I remember now why Naruto only seems to eat ramen from this stand nearly every day'

After eating the delicious bowl of ramen, Shigeo left the money under next to his bowl before he bid farewell.

"Alright Ossan, I'll be heading out now!" Shigeo called out as Tuechi nodded.

"Alright Shigeo Boy! Make sure to come again!" Shigeo heard Tuechi's voice from afar so he too responded.

"I will!"
