5 Grind

Days passed, and although life was very boring, I grew accustomed to this routine of grinding my skills. Most would have given up already due to the pain and soreness that I endured daily, and the headaches that came from long hours spent in the Nara Library. However, I knew that every single drop of sweat that I put in my training during this peaceful time would increase my odds of survival in the future.

The Naruto world was not a simple world. It was a world filled with dangers. Not to mention the Akatsuki's threat, there were plenty of missing nin, shinobi that travelled the lands following a code of banditry. Most of them are actually genins, but there are a considerable amount of jonin-level shinobi at this level, a realm of strength that most shinobi would never achieve in a lifetime, a realm of strength that even geniuses like Naruto and Sasuke would reach in a decade at best.

Kakashi was an exception to the rule, but the guy was talented. I was not. I knew it. Although my system allowed me to evaluate my skills and compare myself to others, the series proved that the Nara Clan was not recognized for its combat skills. Although controlling shadows was a tremendously attractive kekkai gekkai, it could not compare to the dojutsu like the byakugan or the sharingan.

Hence, if I wanted to survive, I needed to grow stronger, much stronger than the rest of protagonists in canon. That way, I would be able to make a change in this forsaken village, become Hokage. My ultimate goal was immortality. Something that was impossible in the modern world, was actually something attainable in the world of shinobi, where the resource called 'Chakra' existed.

Talking about chakra, I had just finished the leaf sticking method. While my chakra reserves were relatively small compared to the other ninja heirs, it came with a benefit. My high intellect and my perseverance allowed me to gain control of my chakra at a rapid pace. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that it was incredibly fast. It took me only a couple of days to be able to stand onto a wall using chakra on my feet, a one week to achieve it on liquid surfaces.

As for the leaf sticking exercise, it no longer was efficient at increasing my chakra control.

[Congratulations! Your chakra control has reached C- rank]

C-rank. It was on par with some of the strongest genins, and some of the worst chunins! It was the strongest stat that I possessed, next to my intelligence stat!

'What's the next step?', I asked myself

It was already dark. My parents had gone to sleep a long time ago, but I had decided to push myself a little and complete this training. Who knew it would be so effective!

Thereafter, I remembered a character in naruto, who was not especially strong, but possessed tremendous influence in canon: Kabuto. The man possessed extremely high chakra control, and used it to his advantage, to the point that he had managed to fight fair and square against Tsunade, a legendary shinobi.

Granted, her specialty was that of a medical nin, but she was still one of the strongest shinobi in the world, and the one who became hokage after the Third Hokage passed away against Orochimaru.

'Should I...Try it?'

Learning medical nin jutsu would prove incredibly useful. It would be very useful in urgent crisis where I would need to heal myself or one of my careless teammates, but more importantly, it would prove incredibly convenient for a scheme of mine...

Just you wait, Sasuke Uchiha. The moment you betray the village, will be the moment when you will lose a sharingan.

So what if I had been born a Nara?

As long as there was a Uchiha alive, I would be able to steal their dojutsu with enough preparation!
