My Throne At the Peak of the Tower
Owen Valegaurd was born weak into a world dominated by the strong and the talented. He worked harder than humanly possible, and rose to the peak of the tower. He was among the strongest of the gods, and was feared by many. Those who attacked him were swiftly put down.
Eventually, however, Owen aquired a group of strong, loyal companions who stood at the peak by his side. They went through hell and high water together, and there was no force in the Heavens that could stop them when they were all together. That's why their betrayal was so unexpected for Owen, and why it hurt the way it did.
"Damn you all!" Owen screamed at the top of his blood filled lungs. He did not curse them, although he had the ability to do so. Instead, he turned his remaining energy inward, to his last failsafe. It was the most brilliant two part construct he had ever made, the "Second Chance System". He designed his masterpiece to force his will onto the wheel of time and send him back to his childhood with his memories in tact.
A transparent purple screen appeared before him with white lettering:
'NOT ENOUGH MANA TO CONTINUE WITH REGRESSION'
'WOULD YOU LIKE TO SWITCH TO OPERATION B?'
Owen didn't like operation b as much as his initial plan, but it would have to do. Reincarnation always left so much uncertainty: how much further into the future, how strong his new body would be, if he was even in the same world. But it would work out. It had to. He was going to punish those who betrayed him, even if it cost him everything.
