Soft Shizun

Shen Qingqiu was relaxing in his bamboo house, reading a novel of this world. He had transmigrated earlier into PIDW, right after the first night of Shen Jiu being away from the Qiu's.

The nightmare that had been absorbing his memories had him waking up screaming, which caught the attention of Wu Yanzi. He didn't want to get into the details, but if he ever meet the original Shen Jiu, he could understand why he came out the way he did.

The feeling of hands and the phantom of bruises always managed to get him to flinch.

After a while, a disciple knocked on the door, sounding like he was in a hurry. Shen Qingqiu rose from his spot and made his way to the door.

"Shizun! A fellow shixiong and shidi were sparring and one hit the other's arm too hard! I'm afraid it's broken!"

Shen Qingqiu nodded before putting his fan in his belt, and rushing after the disciple.

When they arrived, the disciples who were present had huddled around the boy, who had opted to sit on the floor and rock, trying to distract himself from the pain. His face was covered in tears, desperately trying to lower his whimpering.

Shen Qingqiu quickly shoo'd people away to make a path for him, and kneeled beside the crying disciple. He had gently put his arms around the boy, being mindful of his arm, and held him to his chest. His robes were getting tear stained, but he didn't mind, focusing on trying to comfort the boy.

After a while, the tears were reduced to sniffling, and Shen Qingqiu asked if he could move his arm. The disciple nodded, and so he moved his own arm out of the way so the disciple could move it into his lap. With a lot of whimpering and a few more tears, the arm was finally rested in his lap.

Shen Qingqiu slid his arm under the disciple's knees and wrapped his other arm around the boy so his upper arm was on his back and his lower arm could support the broken arm.

With a steady breath, he lifted the boy into his arms and began walking towards Mu Qingfang's infirmary. Today was one of the rare days where all the peak lords were on their own peak, taking care of business. He walked quickly and spoke softly, determined to get over there as fast as possible just in case anyone spotted him.

He didn't mind Mu Qingfang spotting him, for he was probably the only one who knew of this softer nature of Shen Qingqiu. The side that was caring in almost a maternal way, who treated all of his disciples like his own children, being fair but strict, never taking to harsh words unless necessary. Always fretting over there safety and always advising one of them.

He made it to Mu Qingfang's and placed his disciple on one of the cots, being surprised about the lack of patients. He made sure they were settled then ran off to find the doctor himself.

After finding him and snatching him away from work so he could work on his disciple, they made light hearted conversation they probably sounded round to the passing disciples of Qian Cao.

Mu Qingfang simply chuckled after they made it to the infirmary before walking over to the disciple, who had completely stopped crying, but his face tear stained and puffy. Shen Qingqiu gave him a handkerchief so he could wipe his face.

The entire process was quick and certainly not painless, but the arm had been righted and braced.

The disciple was given the all clear to leave if he wanted, and was promptly returned, with Shen Qingqiu, to Qing Jing Peak.

All the disciples had once again crowded around the boy, dragging him away so he could wash his face and receive an apology, which he accepted and calmly explained that it was an accident.

Shen Qingqiu very quickly set him up on a schedule in which he would be training his mind instead of his body, which all the other disciples had begged to be part of, claiming that they couldn't let him get ahead in that area, but Shen Qingqiu knew that they simply didn't want him to feel like he was being left out from their studies. He allowed it, naturally, as it was good for them to support each other. After the whole thing settled down, he quickly retreated back into his bamboo house, but not before discreetly placing a bowl of hard candy for the disciples to find.
