9 Who is this guy?

No one to talk to, no one to laugh with and no one to share things with. Her feet froze to the ground.

She kept standing there for a while like a sculpture. She could feel no energy in her body.

Just her standing at the threshold of the room.

The most precious word "mother" was missing.

She took a cold and deep breath and took further steps.

Things are so difficult mom.

She said in her mind.

Sitting in the corner of the room beside her drawer, she took out the envelope of money that her mother left for her and started to count it.

"This is more than enough to pay for college fees.Ok, so I'll go for my admission tomorrow then."

She raised her face to the roof and smiled thinking that her mother might be watching her from above. She laid down on her bed and tried to sleep.

Each time she closed her eyes, all of her last night memories with Daniel would flash through her head. She couldn't sleep the whole night and continued shifting weight from side to side.

Her face was flushed with embarrassment.

It was 4 o'clock in the morning. Emily finally fell asleep while playing with her hair. Six hours passed and her alarm ranged at ten.

"What? It's already ten!"

She made a crying face and reached over to slap the snooze button, squinting at the iridescent hands.

She mustered up the courage to leave the bed and take a shower.

After taking a shower, she brushed her teeth, dressed.

She wore her treasured navy blue shirt with an almond colored skirt that fit perfectly. A white elegant swan pendant on her pretty neck and a white designer handbag (gifted by her mother on her birthday) made her look even more modernized.

She put on a nude lipstick. Her mesmerizing beauty didn't need more makeup.

After looking at herself in the mirror, she walked out.

Walking at the side of a busy road, she reached her pocket to take her phone out but it wasn't there. She forgot it at home.

Emily sighed and decided not to go back because she was almost near the college.

Eventually, a car came from nowhere and applied sudden brakes in front of her.Emily got startled. "Are you insane? What the hell are you doing huh?" she questioned furiously.

A boy stepped out from his car and took off his sunglasses. He was Daniel once again. He was standing out of his car with one of his arms laying on the car.

Emily instantly remembered the last night scenarios she caused and turned her face to the other side.

Sweat poured down from her face despite the cold air. She shook her head to unstick the hair from her sweating forehead.

"Are you avoiding me? .. My friend!". Daniel burst into laughter.

"What do you mean your friend?..... When did that happen? I'll be off now… I'm busy."

She was stammering. Daniel came closer to her and she took a few steps back. "Do you want a ride?" he offered.

"No! I don't receive help from strangers and besides I'm already there so get out of my way." She yelled at him and walked towards the College gate briskly as if some dog was chasing her.

"Hey! I'll be waiting for you outside until you are back." He Shouted out to her.

Finally she was standing on the main entrance of the college. It was named"King Stephen College of America". She stepped in and showed her identity card to the guard. The college had a large sturdy and confident building. On entering, you can see a large basketball playground on your left and a baseball field on your right.

Emily asked someone the way to the office and proceeded in. After filling the form and submitting her admission fee, she starved for coffee.

On reaching the cafe, she bought an Americano and walked out.

"Yumm! the coffee here is good though."

While she was looking at the boys playing basketball on the ground, she bumped into a stranger and her coffee spilled on his jacket.

"Hey! Are you blind? Don't you have eyes? You spoiled my limited edition jacket." He howled at her.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do…. I'll fix this immediately."

She apologized while taking out tissues from her purse. Emily was just about to touch his jacket when he stopped her hand.

"What are you doing!? Do you think you can fix it like this?Do you even know how costly this is?" He shouted

He was still grabbing her arm.

Emily looked puzzled. She could feel her heart pounding in her ears.

"Then… you give it to me and I'll give it back after washing."

He denied.

"Do you want me to die here of cold? And how can you assure me that this stain would vanish?" he shouted again.

Emily put her hand in her bag. She was searching for something. She took a card and gave it to James.

"This is the grocery shop where I work. Come tomorrow night and I'll pay for your damn jacket."

She said furiously.

"What if it is fake? Give me your number too. I can not trust girls like you."

He smirked.

"Are you asking for a fight!?"  She stood in a defensive pose with her arms crossed.

"Who the hell are you to talk like that? " He roared at her.

"Do you think you are someone who can fight me!"

He put his hands in his pockets and stood with his head straight.

Emily rolled her eyes.

All of a sudden, someone rushed there and pulled Emily to himself. He was holding Emily tightly with his hand on her right shoulder.

"She is my girlfriend,"

He said.
