10 Chapter 10 Mia

The persistent knock on my front door woke me up from my troubled slumber and I groaned at the rude disturbance because whoever this person was, just about ruined the little sleep I managed to get after my almost sleepless night that was as the result of my not so romantic encounter with my crush the night before.

My head was pounding so bad and I was sure my eyes were bloody red and puffy from the few tears I shed here and there during most of that night.

I knew I was being a little unrealistic failing for a guy I barely knew, but like everybody else in the world, I too didn't have control over my feelings however stupid they may be and jeon's dismissive attitude had shuttered my delicate little heart and so yeah I cried a little bit. Sue me.

I tried to ignore the knock for a while with hopes that whoever was there, would think no one was around and leave me alone, but that knock persisted. And the fact that it continued also meant that my flatmate was already out for work and chose to let me sleep in for the day.

Unable to ignore the knock for much longer, I got up from my bed and made my way to the door. I could feel that stinging headache even more now that I was up and I made a mental note to get straight back to bed after seeing whoever the hell was pounding at the door like a lunatic.

When I opened the door though, it wasn't just anyone standing in front of me but the man who was responsible for my headache. He looked as handsome as ever, with a tiny smile on his face that froze me to ice for a whole minute.

"Hello Mia" he greeted me and all of a sudden I became aware of myself, I totally forgot that he knew where I lived and it was not like I ever expected him to just show up like that but now that he did, I realized that I obviously looked a mess and before I could respond to his greeting, I closed the door on him and ran back to my bedroom to check myself in the mirror and alas, my fears were proven right. I looked like a zombie.

'Damnit why did he have to come now? Damnit' I cussed out as I ran around my room tying to fix myself up.

I started with fixing my hair, then grabbed the nearest dress I could get my hands on. Washed my face in a frenzy, smeared some lipstick on my lips and went back to the door completely out of breath like I had just run a marathon.

When I opened the door again, he was still standing right where I left him. Only this time, he had one of his eyebrows raised and a much wider smile on his face.

"Hello again" he couldn't help but laugh a Little at my weird behavior and I really hoped that he found it cute instead of weird. That's because, I couldn't afford to come out as some weird girl and lose him all over again.

"Hello jeon, what are you doing here?" I asked breathlessly still not believing that he was even at my door step to begin with.

"I came to apologise for my dismissive behavior yesterday and I hope you don't mind that I came to your house. You see, I realized too late that I didn't have your number and so I had no choice but to come over to your house" he said nervously like there was a chance I would even refuse his apology.

"Oh don't worry about it, you were working so I wasn't offended at all and I also don't mind that you came over, am actually happy about it" I said in a chirpy voice. "Would you like to come in for some coffee or something?" I said and opened my door wider for him to enter.

"Okay some coffee sounds nice. Thanks" he answered politely.

I ushered him inside and offered him a seat at the only couch we had. He was quite nervous as he walked in like he doesn't usually visit people's homes or something like that and I hurried straight to the kitchen after he had sat down to get two cups of coffee before he changed his mind about coming inside ours.

"You have a beautiful place here" he complimented after I came back from the kitchen with two coffee cups and handed one to him.

"Really" I asked with clear interest.

"Yeah, I like the simplicity of it" he said with a nod as his eyes scanned the place. He seemed lost in whatever beauty he found in our small flat, but all the while he was looking around, I took it upon myself to really look at him.

He was tall and well built. His skin was so soft and smooth as if he'd never had as much as a pimple in his entire lifetime. His dark silky smart hair was well kept and his clothes looked quite expensive which suggested that he either came from some wealth family or he was a model. I suspected the earlier.

"Oh well my flatmate and I decorate wedding venues for a living so we did a little bit of decor for our own space too" I said and sat down on a little chair opposite him and sipped on my coffee nervously.

"Oh so you are a wedding planner?" He asked with interest as he sipped some coffee as well.

"No am a florist, I do flower arrangements for various venues but mostly weddings and Bo na is the main wedding planner for our up and coming company."

"That's interesting, I believe I have met more people than most but I don't think I have ever met a florist before" he smiled at me and I almost collapsed from the dimples that showed on both his cheeks.

After a minute of awkward silence he cleared his throat "Look Mia, I know we barely know each other but I felt like I owed you an apology for being so dismissive to you last night" he chuckled nervously and looked at me with a certain seriousness in his eyes and continued.

"I have so much going on in my life at the moment but you seem like a good person and I could use a friend right about now, so if I didn't come out as total bastard and ruined everything, could you consider being friends with me?"

"Hey dont worry there is no problem at all" I assured him with a smile "so how about we toast to our new friendship huh?" I smiled wider at the thought of seeing him again even if it's just as friends.

"Well cheers then" his smile widened too as he raised his coffee cup to mine and I swear I missed a few heartbeats from that smile of his that was more beautiful than a sunrise from space.
