9 Chapter 8

She woke up early today and showered quickly. She has a lot of cleaning to do so she wore her favorite tattered shorts showing most of her flawless legs and paired it with a black tank top. She tied her hair into a loose bun and quickly left the room. She saw him enter the house in a clean white t-shirt as she descended the stairs. She said her greetings but he didn't bother to even look. He went to the kitchen, took a glass and filled it with water. She entered the kitchen as he finished drinking his water. He was about to wash the glass he was holding when she suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Just leave it there, I'll wash it." She smiled at him but he had this lethal look again before he pulled his lips into a dangerous smile the same as that day she arrived unwelcome in his home.

"You might be used to men looking at your bare body, sweetheart, but don't get used to holding random men. Not all men will have a lot of control when it comes to women like you." He pulled his arm and left the kitchen leaving her puzzled and angered by his words.

She sat down and took a few bites of the sandwich he had prepared for breakfast but remembering how rude he had been to her earlier gave her no appetite. She ended up throwing most of the sandwich in the garbage bin then quickly tidied up everything in the kitchen. Today, she is going to clean downstairs and she can't waste time thinking about unimportant things such as that jerk.

They both worked quietly throughout the morning. She cleaned downstairs while he did his own thing in the garage.

It was after lunch time when she heard a car park outside. She turned and saw Ron emerging from the driver seat. He was dressed manly as usual that anyone who saw him for the first time would think he is a straight guy. Tired and exhausted, she sprung from where she was and ran quickly where her bestfriend was. She took a few leaps but just before she reached him, she lost balance and fell just outside the door. Filled with panick, Ron shouted her name and ran towards the unconscious Juliana.

"Babe, can you hear me? Please wake up." He was about to wrap her in his arms when a man suddenly emerged from nowhere and carried her in his arms into the house and laid her gently on the sofa. Though the man was stern-looking, he could sense gentleness in him especially as he looked into the unconscious girl lying in front of him carressing Jiana like she was a fragile thing. A smile broke into his lips as he thought of her. Brandon stood and headed for the kitchen to get water and cursed when he saw the food that was supposed to be for her lunch was still on the table.

"Damn!" Then he went out of the kitchen with the water but he saw the man who just arrived kneeling in front of Jiana, lovingly stroking her hair and giving her tiny kisses all over her cheeks and forehead.

Brandon felt a lump in his throat for the first time. He held onto the glass tightly and clenched his teeth controlling his anger. If looks could kill, this man would not last even a second after he had touched his Jiana with his filthy hands.

His eyes only softened when Jiana moved and opened her eyes. She looked at him then at the stranger who just arrived.

"Babe!" she said softly tears welling her eyes.

"I'm here," was his only answer but it was enough to calm her. She tried to sit so the man helped her sit. Smiling she thanked him and hugged him at the same time.

He could not contain his feelings anymore so he took long strides and went out of the house leaving the two lovebirds behind.
