16 Chapter 15

She opened her eyes and studied her surroundings. She was blinded by the sunlight coming in through the windows. She rubbed her face to the soft pillows she was clinging to since last night the male scent coming from it cleared her senses. She was in Brandon's room on Brandon's bed! She abruptly turned to the opposite side of the bed as if expecting someone beside her only to be disappointed that the space was empty. Wait. Disappointment? She had always hated men being around her. She had met a lot of men before but no one got her interest. They were always like hyenas lurking around waiting when they could devour her and her fortune. She was into a few relationships but all of the men he had relationships with just wanted business. She didn't mean anything to them. She is just a fat, milking cow. So being disappointed that she did not find the man she was expecting to be right beside her is somewhat new.

Seeing that there was no one beside her, she slowly stood up from the bed and sluggishly walked towards the door. She was about to walk towards her own room when she felt movement in the kitchen downstairs. Without thinking, she descended the stairs and hurriedly walked to the kitchen.

She was about to call his name but stopped midway when she saw an unfamiliar face working around the kitchen. The woman turned to her, surprised.

"Good morning Miss." She greeted politely.

Julianna hesitated for a moment then smiled, while wondering who the woman was and how she got in his house.

"Good morning." She greeted back.

"You are so pretty and gorgeous!" The woman replied, full of admiration, while scanning her frame. She had met all the women acquainted with Brandon but even with uncombed hair and bedmarks still on her face, she's still the prettiest. She could imagine the pretty girls and handsome boys they would soon make when they get married. No wonder her young nephew could not get himself to love any other woman. She is definitely the woman for him. She could not stop herself from giggling.

She was the only sister his father had in this world. When her brother found out he had cancer, she accepted the responsibility of taking care of her only nephew. She had no husband nor kids to take care of and she wouldn't mind having him. But her brother had other plans. He knows life would be tough for her especially when she finds a man to love in the future. So before she could protest, her brother took his nephew to Mr Shin and asked for favor to raise his son in his place. He is his only bestfriend and though they had a big misunderstanding because they loved the same woman, they were able to come with an agreement and Mr. Shin took Brandon in. When the old man decided to send his nephew away for some reasons, he requested her to accompany him overseas. She was willing to do anything for Brandon. But even if she could do it for free, the old man still sent her allowance monthly until the time his nephew finished his studies and became self sufficient. Back then, she caught her nephew a few times looking at magazines where they featured the Shin Family and their only daughter. That's when she knew her nephew had something for the young miss.

Julianna eyed her with suspicion especially that she was giggling all to herself. She finally realized she hasn't introduced herself.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I am Dorothy, Brandon's aunt."

"Oh," was the only reply she could say. It was her turn to be surprised. So Brandon had a family after all. "Pleased to meet you." She said after a few awkward seconds. "Please excuse me. I need to go to the washroom. I ran down in a hurry and forgot to wash myself up."

"No problem."

Julianna turned and walked out of the kitchen then climbed the stairs silently once again. She opened the door to her room then went into the restroom and quickly took a shower.

Dorothy stood there looking at her while she walked back to her room upstairs, wondering how she could make her shy nephew confess to her. But after much thought, she told herself to leave the lovebirds to figure it out themselves. After all, that's what love is - discovering each other.
