15 Chapter 14

She was caught offguard when he suddenly lifted her face for a kiss. Before she could protest, his lips were already on hers savoring her sweetness. She was dizzy with all the sudden rush of emotions going on within her. Unlike their first kiss, this was very gentle, as though he was filled with longing and desire. But their kiss did not last for long. She was just about to lose control when his phone suddenly rang. He pulled off quickly to see who's calling then answered it with just "mmm." Then his brows almost met with a frown.

She sat quietly for a moment and looked outside. That's when she realized that they were in front of the sunflower garden, just a few feet away from the mansion. She straightened her back, her legs still shaking, and her cheeks burning. She gathered all her strength to open the car door getting ready to get off but was suddenly surprised by the hand that suddenly grabbed her by the wrist. He was still on the phone but his action told her not to move. So she complied.

"Will you be ok to stay alone at the mansion tonight? He asked her after he hung up the phone. "Something came up and I need to do something urgent tonight," he continued before she could answer.

She nodded, afraid to speak. She was afraid that if she allowed herself to speak, she might ask him to stay and not leave her.

After her approval, he started the engine and drove a few more feet to the mansion's front door. He alighted first and opened the door for her and let her inside. When they reach the stairs, he cupped her face and looked at her eyes. No words came out of his lips but just his gentle stare sent shivers down her spine. She isn't sure why but deep inside, she could feel something new. He smiled and then left, leaving her wondering about what just happened and why she feels so strange.

She heard the engine roar with life again as he drove away from the mansion to wherever he is going. She stood there for who knows how long before she decided to climb the steps to her room. She passed by his room and unconsciously touched her lips where his lips had been moments ago. She entered his room, and laid her head on his pillow while hugging his blankets. She wondered, "Am I falling in love with you Brandon Chiu?" She took in his scent in a deep breath, then fell into a deep sleep, her dreams filled with the kiss they have just shared.
