Chapter 2

It's been a week since Amethyst reincarnated. She can't help but curse her luck at the first hour she realized her situation but upon further pondering, she slowly accepted her fate. In a week, Amethyst locked herself inside her room and only open her doors when it is time for food. At that week, she spent her time thinking and also reading some books to ease her mind.

She haven't met any of her family members either, even Ruby. But since she promised Ruby that she will treat her better, she did not prolong her stay in her room.

The maids are also startled with their young lady's actions. It was known that this young lady of theirs is unruly in nature, always making trouble for the second young lady who's barely even 3 years old at age, because of this, no one in the manor like this young lady very much. But it has been a week and she did not even stepped out of her room that makes the servants wonder what happened.

There's even the comments of the maids that is tasked to deliver the young lady's food that she seemed to have changed. Gone her arrogant facade and was replaced with a stone-cold, mature temperament that makes them wonder if she is the real young lady.

When the maids deliver her food, it is either she was reading a book peacefully on her coach, or that she was looking outside the window deep in thought while having an invisible barrier around her that screams 'stay-out'.

They are pondering if they should report to their master about the behaviour of their daughter but they shook their heads as the master never really cared for this young lady.

Back in Amethyst's side, she put down the book that she was reading called, "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy. A book that is not supposed to be read at her young age, not to mention that the book is literally written in Russian! Amethyst thought for awhile and decided to go out of her room to get

some fresh air.

As she opened up her door, she was startled by the sight of three maids murmuring to each other in front of her room. When the maids saw their young lady coldly looking at them, they bowed in shame as they are not even supposed to be there.

"What are the lots of you doing in front of my room instead of doing your work?" Amethyst said with her ever cold voice, though it had a hint of childishness, it does not mask the authority that does not match her age.

"Y-young lady, w-we were just w-worried since you have n-not stepped outside for a week!" One of the maid blurted out. Her expression remained indifferent, not bothering to talk to them anymore.

She walked out and went to the direction of the garden inside their house, the maids silently followed. As she was walking towards her destination, she can't help but to hear the tone of piano being carelessly played. When she heard this, she changed her route and went to the music room instead.

And there she saw the 3 years old Ruby, who's trying to make a tune out of the piano, looking absolutely adorable. Amethyst's heart cannot help but to soften and later on scolded herself. 'How dare my 5 years old past self to make troubles with this adorable munchkin!' If Amethyst has a weakness, it is towards cute and fluffy things that she only possessed as her later age. And know looking at her adorable younger sibling, her weakness seems to kick in.

When Ruby felt a bone-chilling gaze directed at her, she turned her head and saw her older sister looking deeply at her. Ruby does not really have any impression towards this older sister of hers since whenever older sister saw her, she will always give her a glare that Ruby can't understand what it meant.

But Ruby always wanted to be close to this older sister of hers but she is quite afraid of her. Seeing her older sister in front of her, she can't help but to feel delighted. When a twinkling star-like gaze fell upon Amethyst, she can't help but to feel awkward since she never received such gaze before, or she did but she just never noticed.

Amethyst walked towards her younger sister who's sitting in front of piano and patted her head.

"What were you trying to play?" Amethyst inquired, although she still has that aloof cold voice in her tone, it has a bit of warmth in it.

Ruby can't help but to feel happy since this is the first time her older sister patted her head! As a 3 years old, a doting action is enough to make them feel happy, not to mention towards the person they want to get close with.

"Twinkwe twinkwe witte star! But i cant pway with my other hand" Ruby said while having a lisp with the letter L.

"Alright, let this Older Sister play the other one for you." Then Amethyst put her hands on the piano, Ruby did the same thing and they both started to play 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'

The maids who silently followed Amethyst were startled, this is the first time that they saw this young lady of theirs dotes on her little sister. People in the manor knew how dissatisfied this young lady towards her little sister was because she believed that her little sister stole their parent's attention from her so she was treating her a bit rough.

But now... seems like that confinement for a week shook their young lady's head! Not only she matured and seems so aloof now, she also seemed to change her heart towards her little sister now!

But little did they know that the aloof and cold attitude of their young lady applies to everyone, except Ruby.

As the maids is watching their two young ladies playing 'Twinkle twinkle little star', they can't help but to notice that young lady Ruby already stopped playing and they saw how the simple tune of the song was turned into a complicated one. Amethyst was now unconsciously playing 'Twinkle Twinkle little star' version of Mozart.

They were astonished, including Ruby as she watched in awe. Her older sister plays like dad! Ruby heard of this version from her dad before when she asked him to play a piece in the piano, and this is exactly what she heard!

When it was almost finished, Amethyst snapped out of her daze and stopped playing. 'Oh shit!' she muttered herself. She was supposed to be only accompanying Ruby to play the piece but she unconsciously turned it into the professional version! That's why Ruby stopped since she can't keep up with her.

"I'm sorry, i-i was uhmm-" Amethyst don't know what to say.

"Owder sister! That's soo coooowll! Can you teach me how to pway?" Ruby pleaded with her big doe eyes looking intently at Amethyst. Amethyst chuckled and gave her younger sister a nod. And from that day onwards, the piano session of the two siblings started up until adulthood.

The maids who are watching was confused. This young lady of theirs does not know how to play piano, that's for sure since she never asked for lessons from their parents. All she know was to play mischievous pranks towards the servants and her little sister. The maids are totally aware of the piece that she played since they are serving a noble household and knew some things that are noble-related. But the question was how did their young lady knew how to play piano suddenly?! And a Mozart piece at that! They are looking at each other with confusion in their eyes. It seems that they really need to report to their masters about the abrupt changes in their daughter.

And so, the maids sneakily left the music room and went straight to their masters' study room.

And when all of that happened, they failed to noticed a pair of green orbs looking intently at the two siblings- specifically at Amethyst with a smirk playing plastered on his face.
