119 Meeting the Enemy

The car came to a stop and before it stood a large gate. It was so tall that if she wanted to see what was happening behind it, she would have to use her imagination. There were four guards standing in front of the gate and when Alex stopped two of them walked up to him.

Zunnie's heart started acting out upon seeing the guards. However, this time it was from the thrill. She was excited. Excited to throw kicks and give punches. It had been a while since she used her Taekwondo and she really wanted to.

"Boss Welcome," one of the men greeted him and motioned for the gate to be opened which it did. They drove into a large army base with many soldiers.

"Uhm, d-d-darling, where are we?"

She was still gawking when the car came to a stop and another man in uniform came to escort them.

"This is my family's private security base...my dad started it. Important people hire our men and women to guard them as well as to do the other unspoken things." He proudly replied.

"Wow, I had no idea you Zi's were so equipped. He-he, unspoken things. Have you killed anyone? Whew, I'm glad I agreed to marry you when you gave me five minutes to make my mind up. Who knows what would have happened to me." She giggled.

"I would never hurt you. I'll hurt myself before that ever happens." Alex said as he pulled her closer to him then wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Well, I have skills too..." She punched the air before her.

"Ha-ha…Show me what you can do in that room then." He nodded to the door down the hallway.

"Boss you finally decided to bring your wife to meet the family." An authoritative female voice spoke behind them, startling Zunnie.

"Ah, Cassie…this here is my wife Zunnie Bai. Honey this is Cassie; a longtime family friend. She grew up together with my dad and mom."

"Mrs. Zi, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." She said with a smile and extended her arms toward Zunnie.

Zunnie face was flushed when she saw the pretty face the voice which had startled her belonged to. She couldn't help ogling at the beautiful woman with her arm outstretched towards her.

"Ah, you're so gorgeous." She blurted out then hurriedly cover her mouth at her sudden exclamation.

"I-I'm really sorry. N-Nice to meet you."

"Don't be embarrassed dear, I get that a lot. Are you ready to meet your unsuccessful grim reaper?"

Zunnie was so embarrassed she could only nod. She slowly calmed down when they were closer to the door. She tightly held onto Alex's hand. She was both anxious and curious, to see who was behind the door.

"Are you alright? You don't have to see her if you don't want to." Alex coaxed her.

She cleared her throat then replied with a straight face and cold tone, "I'm alright. I've always imagined who hated me this much to try and end my life. Let's go in."

When they entered the room Zunnie could not believe her eyes. She walked up to Victoria and stood before her.

"It was you?" She was stunned when she sat it was Victoria Bell the first person who came to her office to harass her. Zunnie was baffled because after that day she had unquestionably forgotten that Victoria Bell existed.

Facing her now, the anger within her began brewing.

"But why? I have never done anything to you? All I've simply done was love this man here. Yet you took it upon yourself to make sure I died in a car accident!"

Zunnie slapped her so hard across her face that her palm started to sting.

"You husband didn't beat me enough, therefore he brought you to finish me," Victoria exclaimed after she recovered from her slap.

"Yes, I had to see the evil wretch who hated me so much she had to orchestrate my death with an accident." Zunnie fired back verbally.

Zunnie let of Alex's hand and used that hand to slap the other side of Victoria's face. She alternated the hands and slapped Victoria with all her strength until Alex pulled her away panting.

However, her panting did not stop her from having the last word.

"There's a limit to how much hate someone who doesn't know anything about you can have. If I had done something to you, I would have understood your actions but unfortunately, I don't recall offending you to this extent nor do I understand your actions..." She pulled away from Alex then punched Victoria in the stomach when she saw her smirking.

"Rot in jail…" Zunnie brazenly said;

She turned around and walk out of the room suppressing the urge to not go back in the room and strangle Victoria.

As she slowly began to calm down she remembered a quote by Bangambiki Habyarimana, she had seen recently; 'Envy: Instead of focusing on your own goals, your goal becomes throwing off the rails other people's goals and at the end of the day you gain nothing but a mischievous satisfaction that you have destroyed someone's dream.'

Then again, Victoria did not destroy her dream, so she was the one having the last laugh.

She flashed Alex a warm and satisfactory smile as she strolled toward the car door he held open for her.
