12 The Birthday Gift (2)

Aron and Joy reached the restaurant, it was a mediocre restaurant the ambience was good, the place was spacious and the there was not much crowd. The manager of the restaurant took them to a Corner table. The seat was overall comfortable. Both of them settled themselves on the seat. Joy then asked Aron from where he got the idea about this restaurant. Aron smiled and told that he remembered that Kim mentioned this restaurant as a nice restaurant with good food when they were in the adventure camp. Since Kim and Ann will be coming so it would be better to have a dinner at a place which is comfortable rather than any five-star restaurant.

Joy was astonished, he couldn't digest the fact that his friend is so much considerate. While they were discussing Kim and Ann came to the table. Both of them were looking pretty. Kim was wearing a simple blue jeans with a white top and Ann was sporting a knee length dress. All four of them greeted each other and finally settled themselves.

While they were discussing what to order, the waiter came to the table with a cake. It was a simple chocolate chip cake in the shape A. Aron smiled as the waiter put the cake on the table. Then the cake was cut and each of them enjoyed a piece each and told the waiter to distribute the rest among the staff. Joy asked Kim and Ann when did they got the time to plan all this. Kim smiled and said that they had come to the restaurant many times previously and hence are known faces here.So they before hand told him to bring the cake to the table as a little surprise and she also mentioned that the cake was specially baked by Ann's father who owns a bakery. Ann added that they thought a lot about what can they give a CEO but finally settled on giving a cake which was handmade thinking it is the thought that matters. Aron smiled and politely answered that getting such genuine surprises as gift is rare in the business world and he truly loved the gift as he got it not as a CEO but as friend. Ann smiled and also handed a pen which seemed to be costly to Aron saying it as the official gift to Aron for his birthday on behalf of Kim and Ann.

Everyone laughed and Aron gladly accepted the pen. Aron wanted to say something to Kim but he chose to remain silent. After ordering many dishes the four of them started talking, they got well with each other and started sharing stories regarding their high school and university life.The atmosphere had became very lively and light when the food arrived.
