7 Unpredictable Meeting

Author's note:

I'm really sorry I posted the wrong chapter before. I posted chapter 8 instead of chapter 7. I deleted that chapter. I'm terribly sorry if you got confused and frustrated. I'll update both chapter 7 and chapter 8 together as an apology. So please keep reading, you'll enjoy this :)

In the previous chapter-

I stopped breathing. Everything seemed hazy as my sight filled with a bright pinkish light. This lasted for a few seconds. My hands were in front of me. As my eyes became clearer, I tried to find the kid inside the dense road. If only I ran as soon as I saw the boy in the street... None of this would've happened. My fault... Being unable to think, I ran, making the way through the crowd which has been caused by the accident.

Shoulder brushed against me, elbows jabbed. But I didn't stop until I reached there. I forced myself to look at the mess I've created. But WHAT?? HOW WAS THAT POSSIBLE?

The boy was hugging his parents, crying but safe and secured. I didn't ruin anything. But HOW? All the people's jaws dropped, including mine. A miracle!

The bus was destroyed as it dashed a building nearby.

Wait... was it because of...?

I walked up to the old woman who was standing beside me when the event took place. She was smiling sweetly.

"Hello grandma, um... When all of this happened... Uhh, did you see any light coming from my hand?"

She looked at me. "Do you think you're a super heroine or something?" She glared at me. "And no, I didn't see anything like that though I was observing your abnormal dressing sense at that time, then I heard about the accident. Also, I'm not a grandma, you are!" Her nostrils widened.

Grandmas of the present were definitely not the people you would wanna mess with. But I was damn sure it happened. Why did she not notice? Or maybe she wasn't able to notice...?

10 pm. Abnormally empty street. No sound was there except the whispers of the wind. I didn't want to go home.

I was confused about these days 'was the deal was worth it... Did I make the wrong decision?',  but now I know, hell yes, it was worth it!

The power to heal my wounds sooner than any other human being, now the ability to move things without touching them. I even saved a kid... who knows, maybe I'd rule the world one day! Wild imagination.

But I really hoped Jack or Holly or anyone didn't and wouldn't notice all the changes I was going through. Although Jack and I were siblings, we thought so differently.

He used to say, "Accept the reality, get up and move on" but I didn't believe in that to be honest. Why should I?

All I lived for in my childhood was my dad, he wanted to support me forever. But reality 'kindly' destroyed him. Mom, the most caring person in my life, was also taken out by reality against her will. My grandma, the person I told all my secrets to, who wanted to see me grow and achieve my goals, was put an end to by our 'tenderhearted' reality too.

And Jack expected me to bow down to nature's rules? I didn't hate reality, but I hated the rule 'everyone has to die'. I'd prove them all wrong. There'd be no feeling more satisfying than that.

When the most precious people of my life left me, I wanted to commit suicide but no, I won't lose this easily, this soon. Father didn't teach me how to lose. I'd live fully for centuries, see the beautiful aspects of life, pick up different hobbies, habits, meet loads of people, see new civilizations. I'd travel the world. Although I never wanted those super powers, I loved them. And if possible, I'd help people with these abilities.

Frankly, I felt nervous too. I hated to admit it but the fear of unknown was slowly drowning me in uncertainty and frustration. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. But the pleasure was worth more than the pain.

But feeling nervous in that situation was shameful! I shouldn't have felt that way... I didn't have any rights to feel that way. I chose this path for myself.

In this world, filled with wonders, I should've felt honored to have this blissful opportunity.

The night was getting colder. A box was laying on the side of the street. Hah! It was the perfect time to celebrate! Also, to check if what I saw was correct... I put my hand in front of me, stared at the box. Used my willpower at its extreme to pick it up.

Minutes passed.

But... nothing happened...?

*In a hotel of Sydney*

As soon as Jack woke up sunshine from the window (which he forgot to close the previous night), rushed through his eyes. The soft king-sized bed didn't wanna let him go, or maybe it was him who didn't wanna wake up. There was a loud noise, but instead of waking him up, it glued his eyelids even more. He hugged the blanket tighter.

"Have you slept enough?" A voice asked.

"Need more" he kept my eyes closed.

"Oh, should I send another blanket then?" The voice sounded familiar.

"No, this one is enough." He said sleepily. Wait... The voice was a little too familiar. He jumped out of bed. "Sorry boss! I was about to wake up".

"Thank god you woke up jack, or else I'd have thrown you out of the hotel" his boss said in a cold tone.

"Wh- what time is it sir?" Jack scratched his head.

"10:55 am"

Damn. Was I a pig?

"And you know what jack? I've sent 4 people to wake you up last hour" He glared at Jack.

"Er- you sure sir that the actually came?"

"You're not funny jack. Get ready now", the way Mr. Young emphasized on 'now' make him realize that it was urgent.

After taking a bath of 5 minutes and a breakfast of 5 minutes 30 seconds, he hopped into the black car his boss, Mr. Young was sitting in.

"10 minutes 30 seconds sir" he smirked triumphantly.

"35 minutes 30 seconds Jack"

"Uh... We're quite late sir. Was the meeting at 10:30?"

Mr. Young's dead glare answered his question. It was 11:30 on his smartwatch. He really hoped that both of their watches had some problems or else... he was gonna be dead. But thinking about it wouldn't have helped anyway, hereby he looked out the window. A soft wind brushed against his skin.

It was night in his country. Time difference sucked. What could have been stupid jenny be doing? Right answer: crazy stuffs.

Jack sucked his cheek inward and made a face of a fish to hold back his laughter. Boss shot a look at him, so he sucked his cheeks more.

"You think you're funny?"

"I'm sure about that sir".

Someone busted into laughter. Jack'd have been glad to tell that it was his boss but that poker face didn't. It was Mr. Young's daughter.

"Yo Rebecca, sorry I didn't notice ya"

She turned to him from the front seat just to give an eye roll. "As if you always do". She always reminded Jack of jenny. His sister and Rebecca both were the same age, 19.

"LOL, HRU?" He winked at her.

"F9, WBU?" she giggled.

"JACK! REBECCA! TALK LIKE HUMANS" Mr. Young furrowed his eyebrows.

"WDYM? It's mah HBD" she grinned, showing her all little while teeth.

"I know it's your birthday and I bought a present which I highly regret. I should've bought two brains for you and Jack."

"LMAO" they both said at the same time. Mr. Young groaned.

The car suddenly stopped with a painful jerk.

"WH?" He had to stop myself from saying 'what happened'.

"Shut up!" Mr. Young got out with the driver.

"If we don't get this deal, you won't get your salary" boss gestured to them to get out of the car. It was well known that Mr. Young'd never do that.

They got out and walked around the car.

"Oh shit!" They said at the same time.

One tire was punctured.

"We've to go there by walking. FAST!" He started to hustle, so did Jack and Rebecca. Jack didn't dare to look at his direction.

They got the scope to see the graceful Sydney harbor bridge. Even though he was worried about his existence, its beauty made him want to stare at it forever.

If only he brought his camera (model Canon EOS 250D) and tripod which was gifted by his mom. He could imagine myself positioning at 50-degree angles to the sun; using the water under the bridge as a mirror and the movement of the flying birds to add depth and then capturing it. The picture of Sydney bridge would've been stunning.

He'd been a passionate photographer since the day his father bought him his first every camera on his 9th birthday. He kept thinking about the view and appreciating it all the way. It made his shallow breathing normal.

They reached the building quite soon. Jack's eyes began to wonder as we got inside the huge building and found a sofa to sit on. Jack started to breathe deeply. Everything'll be fine he told himself.

Well, they were going to have a meeting with Mr. Green. Jack admired him. Mr. Green, a middle-aged millionaire, had multiple businesses, such as business of cars, food, CCTV ETC. He gave his employees cars, house, servants and almost everything excluding a spouse and kids. Well, he could give them those too if they wanted.

Jack saw Rebecca whispering, "ABD!" with her 'all the best' expression and thumbs up.

"TY" he smiled.

A man, wearing a coat as black as a black hole, came to them. "Mr. Green will arrive in 15 minutes, please wait".

Jack found his courage again. "And we were late?" Pissing his boss off was the favorite part of his job.

Mr. Young glared at him.

"I'm sorry for the disturbance but I think we all came at the right time" a cold voice said. He looked around. Mr. Green was coming towards them. There was an old man with lots of wrinkles on his face and a young handsome guy accompanied by Mr. Green. They got up to greet them. Jack's heart was beating like a drum to meet Mr. Green for the first time. Did I really need to say that at such a time?

Mr. Green turned to them and said, "Well, Mr. Young, let me introduce you to these brilliant people. It's my nephew Liam and it's his senior Mr. Mendel Knight."
