15 Her Scars

Author's Note: I noticed that the recent chapters of this story were too short TwT I'm sorry. So I posted 2 chapters as an apology. Hope you enjoy it!

In the previous chapter-

As soon as we started walking she stopped again.

"What? " I asked annoyedly.

"She called my family some days ago, my aunt... Holly mumbled.

"WHAT? WHY? " That caught me off guard. "After all those, how dare they?" I asked.

"To celebrate her daughter's 18th birthday. "

"How dare they! What did your family say? " I asked.

"They refused, of course. They also told her not to call again. She ended the call by saying I'm 'The bitch who ruined their relations'." Tears were wailing down her face.

"Jenny, no matter how hard I try... I never seem to forget those days. I'm just a loser...

"No you're not" I hugged her. She clung on me for support.

She wiped the tears off her face and said, "L- let's go to that place"

I nodded.

To our secret place.

An abandoned building with no good scenery. No wind, no good place to sit except two chairs looking things made of bricks which we sat on.

But there was an odd comfort in that place. At least it was better than being alone and lonely in a crowd.

Holly placed her head on her forehead, "I'm sorry. I didn't th-think we'd miss our fun over something this stupid-"

I interrupted, "It's not stupid Holly. How you feel matters more to me than a few hours of hang out." I patted her head.

Once Holly stopped sobbing, she looked at me. She was pale.

She started, "wh-when I was in elementary school, I used to live with m-my aunt. I had to do all the chores, if I didn't... She and her daughter would call me slut and th-throw things at me. Uncle sometimes stood up for me. I always wore clothes that cover up my whole body to hide my brushes... Or else, they'd treat me horribly by saying... I-I'm seduc-" she couldn't say anymore.

My chest tightened. I embraced her.

"I-if I cried, they'd say I was weak and over reacting... And give me punishments... I was threatened not to tell my parents about it... Jenny, do y-you think I'm overreacting as well?" She looked at me.

"No I don't. You're a human Holly, not a robot...

Holly gave me a grateful smile which I was sad to receive. Why was it rare for her to find people to empathize her?

After sometimes, she started to get a hold of herself, "my 'cousins' once made me lick toilet paper in school... Th-thank god you recorded it even though you were a stranger back then... A new transfer student. Because of you... They were expelled. But aunt was furious and beat me with a b-belt and uncle said nothing... He stopped supporting me from that day. I was weak... As always"

"You weren't. You called your parents and told them EVERYTHING! Your parents cut ties with them. They were only jealous of your parent's wealth and your good life." I said firmly.

"Heh, that's how you became my first friend" she smiled sweetly which hurt me more. It was just a mask to hide her sadness and Change the topic.

"You're brave. They got what they deserved. They wanted to stick to your family for money." I said.

"Would... Everything be better if I wasn't this rich? " She asked naively.

"If they can mistreat you, they can mistreat everyone so no."

"You love me, right? You don't think of me as a burden? "

"I love you my soulmate" I gave her a smile, and she returned it.

"Heh, let's go to our library "date" Darling she giggled.

"Cringe" I chuckled.

Just like that, a week passed quickly and I discovered something. The scenes I had been seeing in my dreams, or rather nightmares, were not imaginary. Sometimes I saw my memories which were blurry when I was awake. Sometimes it was someone else's. I couldn't see who the person was, but I was sure... He wasn't a normal human... Maybe not human at all.
