"I'm doing just fine," Nathan said as he accepted the money. He glanced at the empty plate in front of Madeline and sighed.

He picked up the plate and filled it with the lasagna he had made. 

He also took a cola out of the fridge for her. 

"You should eat, sis. You've been on a long flight, right?" Nathan asked. "Well, I don't know. I have never flown anywhere before… or gone on any trip. But I checked on the internet and found that Bali to Los Angeles is a full-day flight."

Madeline smiled bitterly. Again, she felt guilty because Nathan had never gone on a trip. 

Madeline always traveled everywhere for her job as a child singer and actress, while Nathan mostly stayed with a babysitter at home.

Madeline wanted to bring him somewhere for a trip. He was still in school and probably wouldn't be suitable for them to go anywhere, while she was still very much hated by the whole country.
