5 Chapter 4: Unpure

As they arrived, Diana pulled back her arms from around the man's neck and cleared her throat.

"You hung on pretty tightly back there," The man said in a smirk, making Diana sigh hard and pushing him away, taking a step towards the rainbow bridge.

"Just take me to the cell," Diana sighed as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Not just yet," The Asgardian woman, Sif, said as she looked at Diana.

"As I said, the King wants to see you," Thor grabbed ahold of Diana's waist once more, and with a smug smirk on his face, Thor pressed one of his knees between the girl's thighs. Then, he spun the hammer in his hand, lifting them both over the ground, and with the speed of light, the two flew towards the Royal Palace. Diana held onto him unwillingly, as she knew a fall from the height and the speed would result in her imminent death.

"Scared of flying?" Thor's voice was still as vibrant and arrogant as before, and Diana did not care for it at all.

"Shut it," The words left the girl's mouth as she clenched onto him harder, scared that he would let her fall to her death.

Before Diana knew it, they had landed outside the palace, and with trembling legs, the girl felt the stone underneath herself. Diana placed her hand on her stomach and exhaled. Thor grabbed her arm once again as he pushed open the doors. The girl stumbled over her feet as the rude man walked with a quick phase, pulling her behind himself, only to push her forward as they reached the throne.

"Father," Thor uttered, his voice louder than what the girl expected, it was almost as if he thought no one would hear him.

"Brought the daughter of Perseus for you," He pushed Diana forward, only a bit too hard, and the girl stumbled to the ground. The girl's palms burned at the touch of the marble floor, and all of Diana's red locks hung down over her face, hiding her furious glares.

"I am not his daughter," Diana muttered out as she pressed her head back, letting the hair flop down to its perfect place. Her green eyes glowed somewhat for less than a second, and Diana pressed her lips together into a small line.

"I have no father, and I will not let you present me as someone familiar to the man that slaughtered my mother," Diana was still on her knees, feeling her rage as she slowly started to stand up. She cast a few gazes across the throne room. Thor was behind her, and by the King's side was his wife, the queen Frigga and their youngest son.

"The death of your mother was a tragedy," The man said, sitting on the throne and gazed out on the girl with his one eye.

"You don't get to tell me that. You were the one that started it; you brought the war to my planet," Diana pointed at the man, and she clenched her hand. She knew all too well that she did not have her powers anymore, but she was furious, heartbroken, and scared.

"You were the reason my mother was slaughtered in front of me. I had to watch as he sliced her open, tore out her heart, and there was nothing I could do as a child," Diana was angry, scared of what the man had done all those years ago. The images of her mother's death popped up inside of her head, burned themselves on the inside of her eyelids, making Diana scared of closing her eyes.

"Fear, pain, and the small promise I had made to hide, to run, to survive and escape the planet." A tear left Diana's eye as she clenched harder, digging her nails deep into the soft skin of her palms.

"I was five when you and your army slaughtered everyone I knew," Diana screamed, her trembling legs took a step towards the throne, towards Odin, and she knew she would not be able to take any more than the one. She could feel the gaze Thor gave his brother, who took a small step down from beside Odin, closer to his mother.

"You're not here today to discuss the past, my child," Odin's voice echoed around inside the room, and Diana could feel Thor's hand pulling her back a step, holding her up as her trembling legs had gotten too weak. Diana unclenched her hand, letting a small drop of blood escape her fingertips and land on the marble floor underneath.

"No? Then why did you kidnap me from my home, if not to torture me?" Diana spoke and raised her head to look at the man who called himself a God. The girl's eyes were swollen, and the tears were still present on her cheeks.

"You're here to be wed." Odin's words echoed around them, and Diana did not know what to do. She blinked ten times under a second and creased her eyebrows in confusion. Then, a small giggle left her throat as she began to speak.

"I beg your pardon?" The girl looked up at the older man before she bit down on her lower lip, trying to not laugh at the ridiculous words that escaped the older man's mouth. The girl began to laugh hysterically.

"I'm sorry, you want me to be wed? And who do you have in mind?" Diana said, and suddenly all her strength grew back in her legs. The girl pushed away Thor's hand and took a step toward the man who had spoken.

"My son," Odin said, calmly, almost too calm to Diana, and she turned around to face Thor.

"This man? Why on earth would I want to do that?" Diana pointed towards his naïve and dumb face. Thor did not know what was happening, and he could hear them all talking, although the young man could not comprehend what they were saying.

"Because the king told you so," One of the men that brought Diana in said as he threw the girl a gaze.

"Your king, maybe, not mine," Diana said as she looked away from the man and stared at Odin with fires lit inside her eyes.

"You will never be a King, not with so much blood on your hands. You're not even a man, and I will never call you a King," Diana said; her voice was not loud, but it was neither low, and she spoke with slow, making sure everyone would be able to understand what it was she was saying.

"Ne-ver," Diana finally said, articulating the word with such a force that the girl's teeth scraped her bottom lip, leaving a nasty iron after-taste.

Then, Odin stood up, to the surprise of everyone in the grande hall. Frigga, his wife, darter her face towards Odin, the dark-haired man standing by his mother's side also looked at his father with surprise on his face. Thor, who stood behind Diana, took a step forward, closer to Diana, slightly worried what his father would do to the girl. Odin looked annoyed, angry even, Diana thought, and it pleased her, even though she did not know why.

"Take her to her chamber," Odin said through his teeth, and before Diana knew it, guards grabbed ahold of her arms, dragging the girl away from the room. Diana did not want to be treated like a cockroach by these Asgardians, and she was not going to be hauled away to some dark chamber without putting up with a fight. The girl kicked her legs, she tried to take back her arms from their grasp, but to no avail, and when those things did not work, the girl screamed out. While kicking, the girl's shoes flew around through the air. One of them landed at the door leading back into the great hall, and the other dropped on one of the guard's heads, making him pull the girl harder through the hall.

Diana could see how Thor and the dark-haired man walk over to the opened door, and the girl clenched her jaw hard enough to shatter her teeth. The guards shoved the girl into a room, closing the doors shut and locking her in. Diana screamed, slamming her hands against the wooden door, and cussed loudly at the top of her lungs as she sank down to the floor, tears streaming down her face. Diana was scared, she felt so alone, and the only thing she could think of was a face. James' face was plastered inside her mind, and she, at that moment, was afraid she would never see him again. Diana buried her face between her knees and chest, crying as she saw his smile appear burned into the inside of her eyelids, almost like a curse that would haunt her until the day she died.

Once Diana looked up again, drying her tears away, she noticed that it had not been a dark and small dungeon-like cell that she had been thrown into; no, this was a room, large and could have belonged to a princess or the queen herself. Diana brought herself up to her feet, looking around, and walked over to the open windows that lead to the balcony. The girl felt the air swoop around her, and as she stepped outside, she could see every inch of Asgard. The girl could not help but feel stunned, then clenched her hands as she realised that her planet could have looked this beautiful if not for Odin and his butchers.

The room she had been placed in was at the top of the palace, and Diana knew that if she jumped, she would die.

Then, a knock on the door made Diana jump an inch up in the air before she turned around, seeing how the massive doors opened. Three women walked inside. Diana could see by the way that they were dressed that they were servants, and after them walked the queen and the woman warrior that had brought her to Asgard, Sif.

"Draw up a bath for her," Frigga said, and Diana looked at the woman with a raised eyebrow.

"Make sure it's lavender and almonds, and we'll have to pick out something appropriate for her to dress in," The woman continued, and as soon as one of the girls touched Diana, she took a step back and retrieved her arm.

"Don't touch me," Diana growled as she stared down onto the girl, who looked down on the ground and took a step back, scared.

"Why are you even here? Can't I just be left alone?" Diana's teeth gritted against her each other, and she clenched her hands into fists. The girl knew she was not as strong as she usually was; with the metal choker around her neck taking away her powers, she was still ready to fight. Sif saw this and walked over to Diana; within a second, Sif's hand had wrapped itself through the girl's hair, tugging it and making Diana cry out in pain.

"Sif!" Frigga spoke loudly as she raised her hand, trying to keep the warrior from pulling off Diana's head.

"There's no need for violence," Frigga said, and Sif's grasp on the girl's head lessened.

"She will not be hurt, nor can she hurt anyone without her powers," Frigga said, her voice was calm, and Diana noted the lack of fright, which made her angrier. The girl felt powerless, even though she knew that she would have been able to kill all of them without raising one finger. But that was before the thick metal choker around her neck, and now, the girl was nothing more than a human, a powerless little girl that would be forced to marry a man she hated.

"Bath, lavender and almonds," Frigga said, and the two other women opened one of the many doors inside the room, showing a large shower room fitted with a massive hole in the marble that made up a sizeable royal bath. Sif pushed Diana towards the room, much to the girl's dismay, but for Sif, it was one of her pleasures in life.

"Clothes off," Sif demanded as she gazed upon the angry and small girl before herself, and Diana clenched her hands at the firm tone in her request.

"Sif, why don't you take a breather? Go and annoy Loki or someone else for a change," Frigga said, and Diana looked at her, then back at Sif to see the stunned reaction, then back to the queen, who was still as calm as ever. Diana could feel Sif's hand clench harder around her arm and knew it would leave a mark, but the woman warrior would not be caught disobeying the orders of her queen.

"Yes, my queen," Sif said, releasing her grip on Diana and stepping away with her head bowed down, exiting backwards so she would not turn her back on the queen.

"Do forgive her. She's quite fond of Thor and protective also," Frigga said as she walked over to Diana, her hands entangled with each other as her palms rested on her stomach. She looked elegant and was still talking calmly, and this made Diana wonder if the woman had ever felt nervous before or even had an angry part in her body.

"She's in love with him. I understand how seeing someone with the man you love makes you want to do unnecessary things," Diana said before the woman had approached her. The queen's hands grasped the girl's shoulders and smiled calmly and sincere.

"If you look beyond his naïve thinking, he's not that bad. Give him a chance, and he might end up surprising you," Frigga said and stepped away, letting the servant girls undress Diana and bathing her, scrubbing every inch of her body and stopping somewhat as they saw the marks that covered her chest, left on her by James' lips and teeth. Diana tried not to seem embarrassed by them. Still, she could not help her heart pounding hard inside her chest, and the cheeks on her face growing redder and redder as the memory of how the marks had appeared on her body plastered itself into her mind and glueing itself on the inside of her eyelids.

"You, go pick out a dress for her to clothe herself with," Frigga said, pointing at one of the girls, who quickly got up from her knees and ran to the closet. The young woman, who Diana thought could not have been more than fifteen, if they had been on earth, she commented inside her mind, pulled out a white dress. Diana knew, just by looking at it, that it would flow around her body, whole gripping her chest. Diana knew it would be slightly seethrough, and she could only have guessed once that she had to wear it while standing in front of Thor, or maybe even Odin. She gritted her teeth and stood up.

"I will not be wearing that," She said calmly, facing Frigga without feeling the need to cover up her body. Frigga only smiled at the girl, not bothered by the naked body nor the hickeys that covered most of Diana's chest and neck.

"You'll be wearing whatever we tell you to, dear. Also, this one symbolises purity," Frigga said as she motioned for the girls to dry Diana off and clothe her.

"Because I'm not pure enough?" Diana scoffed and let the girls towel her dry. Frigga smiled and walked up to Diana.

"I was not implying such, and I believe that the man who left those marks were your first and that you loved him," She smiled, sincerely and it scared Diana.

"Dearly," She continued and stroke Diana's cheek.

"But, you're not on Midgard anymore, and you will have to give your heart to my son sooner rather than later," Frigga took a step back and smiled as the girls tied the knot on Diana's back, sinching in her waist.

"I can never give my heart to Thor," Diana said as she took a step away from the girls and towards Frigga.

"You look pretty, my dear," Diana only looked at the woman in front of herself. She did not utter a word, and neither did Frigga.
