A friend in need is a friend indeed

After pondering for a while on her decision to make a call to Alex, Susan concluded that it was worth a shot. She didn't know if he had the same number. She wasn't even sure that he remembered her or would pick up her call. She just knew that he was the only person who had ever supported her or cared for her.

She took a chance and called him. The ringing of the phone made her anxious. The waiting came to a stop when the phone was picked up.

"Hello", she was momentarily speechless after hearing his voice after so many years.

She could only choke out,"Alex, I need help."
