14 Slowly

Three months has passed, Daniel's memory came back bits by bits. He doesn't truly remember but he does know Elizabeth cannot be trusted.

Elizabeth came into the office expecting an apology from Daniel but instead of apologizing he straightforwardly ignored her. Daniel asked Ray to escort her back to her house and asking her to never come back again.

Elizabeth threw a temper and Daniel asked securities to escort her back. She looked at Daniel with rage in her eyes.

Ray looked at them pretending he didn't see anything.

"Holy crap." Ray turned around and faced against the wall. He was scared of Elizabeth.

"You think it's easy to throw me away right? I'll come back. You will be mine. Hahahah!" Elizabeth walked away proudly.

Ray looked at Daniel, "Daniel, why didn't you just let her go abroad or something?" Daniel looked at his moniter, "I still need her. I will throw her away when I'm done." Ray nodded.

"How about Lily? Have you thought about her?" Ray asked. Daniel stopped typing and looked at Ray, "I want to keep a distance around her. It's for her own good. I don't want her to get involved with Elizabeth and her father's company's mess." Ray nodded, "True, but you could at least visit her. I bet she misses you. You guys haven't seen each other for a month." Daniel stopped again and looked at him, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder. I will see her when I'm done dealing with this mess." Ray rolled his eyes, "You just got better and you are forcing yourself to work harder. Take a break once in a while." Daniel ignored Ray and continued to work harder since HK Group was also their competitors, he swore to himself that he will bring them down.

"Aish, Lily. Give it up on him. He doesn't like you. If he liked you, he would've visited you much more often. You know he and Elizabeth have an arranged marriage right?" Sarah, her collegue, tried to talk to Lily about giving up on Daniel.

"Sarah, you know she won't. On another note, didn't you see the scandal? They won't last long anyways. Maybe Daniel has something busy to do." Mary replied. Mary was another colleague of Lily. They've graduated graduated from the same high school.

"Lily, this is for your own good as well. Try to find other guys and see how compatible you are with them. Feelings change, you know." Sarah patted her on the shoulder and went to do her work.

Hours later, a huge ruckus was in the lobby. Mary and Lily went down to see what was happening.

Many young female doctors and other young woman all swarmed around him.

"Who is he?" Mary asked Lily. Lily shook her head, it's definitely not Daniel. Lily shrugged her shoulders and went back to her office. Before she could go any further, a hand grabbed her.

Lily was confused and asked him to let her go. He refused then took off his sunglasses.

"Seems like you forgot about me already." Lily was shocked. Why Brian was here?

"Brian?" Lily asked in confusion.

"Your brain does work." Brian smiled, "It's been a long time. How are you doing?" Lily's brain was still trying to register what was happening.

"Brian, are you a model or something? Since high school, we lost contact. Thank goodness your face didn't change much." Lily smiled. Brian was her first high school crush. She confessed to him before he moved away.

"Hm. Not quite. Here's my business card." Brian gave her the card and Lily made a shocking expression.

"You are the CEO of H&H Corporation? That's like one of the top of business conglomerate besides HS Group. Are you and HS group competitors?" Lily asked.

"You could say that. We are second to HS Group. We do have a good relationship. Not as rocky at least. But that's not all... I'm seeing today because I need to tell you something." He whispered into Lily's ears.

"Come with me. I heard about you and Daniel from another friend of mine. When I first came back to Shanghai, I really wanted to find you and reconnect with you. I know this is kind of a rush but if you come with me, it will be much better for you. I know Daniel's personality very well. He will always put work higher than dating partner. Take your time and think about it." Lily nodded and waved bye to Brian. She called Rachel and told her what was happening.

"Rachel, you know Brian from H&H Corporation? He came to see me. He was my first high school crush."

"What? Damn girl, you got moves. He's the most handsome man besides Daniel. Did he ask you to go with him?" Rachel was surprised. Lily said yes.

"Oh... that will be hard. He got a lot of fangirls." Lily sighed and didn't know what to say.

"Rachel, if I go with him... I can still work on the HK Group right? I'm not an employee at HS Group so I'm not too sure."Lily asked.

"You can still work on it in secret. We can meet up and discuss. Remember this business mess is a group work." Rachel replied. Lily said okay then hung up.

"Hey, hey, hey, guys! Look! Lily is now working for H&H Corporation. Daniel, what do we do now?" Ray showed the page to Daniel. Daniel looked at the page and didn't say anything.

"It's not a bad company." He replied, "They used to work for HK group but then they severed their ties with them. H&H will actually benefit us. Ray, contact Lily. I have to see her." Ray immediately called Lily.

"Lily. Come back to the office. Daniel needs to see you." Ray waited for Lily to answer, "I'll be there in half an hour." Lily hung up.

"Brian, I need to go back to HS Group for a while. I'll be back soon." Brian nodded and escorted her. He asked a driver to drive her to HS Group. Lily is now working under Brian as his assistant part time. Brian allowed her to continue working in the hospital.

When Lily arrived at Daniel's office, it felt so nostalgic. She knocked on the door before entering.

"Come in." She missed Daniel's voice. Lily took a deep breath and entered.

"Lily!" Ray hugged her tightly, "I missed you so much." Daniel placed his hand on his shoulder and signalled him to move away. Ray swiftly moved away.

Daniel looked at her and Lily's heart was beating like crazy.

"How you've been?" Daniel asked, "If you hate me, you can just say it." Lily looked down, "I don't hate you." Lily slowly looked up to Daniel. His eyes were longing for her.

"I'm sorry. I left you without any explanation. I wanted to protect you." Lily shook her head, "It's okay. I'm only here because you have something to tell me. What is it?"

Daniel slowly came closer to her and embraced her gently, "I missed you, Lily."
