4 Sauntering around

I left the ship with only my harpoon by my side, leaving everything else safe behind. At first, I wandered around the plateau, finding only kelp and small beings, like eels that would flash when you touch them, interesting but nothing special.

Next, I took a walk around the edge of the plateau to scout in which direction I would like to go next, but to my disappointment no matter in which direction I looked I only found sandy dunes as far I could see.

So I decided that instead of wandering off in a random direction I will first climb around the cliff and see if I can find anything there.

So I climbed

...

And climbed

...

Which took way longer than I thought. Climbing is slow.

And again to my disappointment, the only thing I found was a kind of shape-shifting octopus. To be honest I didn't find it so much as I grabbed onto it, because I thought it was a rock.

So I did the only sensible thing left to do.

I spun my harpoon and marched in the direction it pointed towards.

And I walked and walked and walked.

Until I was barely able to see the cliff anymore.

At that point, I hesitated. I was sure that when I would let it leave my sight I would lose it forever.

So i returned.

And walked in another direction.

And returned again.

And walked again.

And returned.

And walked.

Again.

Again and again.

...

Until I was sure that no matter which direction there was nothing.

Absolutely Nothing. Absolutely perfectly nothing.

...

So I went back in the ship. And searched it again.

And found nothing.

So I went back to my loot. And tried to decipher everything again.

And found nothing.

...

And when I was finally going mad from this endless nothing I took a barrel, stuffed all my loot in it, and a flashy fish, and shapeshifter, and a little gunpowder, and a cannonball, and a rock, and a piece of kelp. Until I couldn't put anything more in the barrel. Then I finally made a hoist for the barrel out of kelp and hoisted it on my back.

Then I put it back down again and bound the wooden board with the ships name on the hoist. And a cannon.

...

Then tried to walk. Which didn't work. The cannon was absolutely to much. So I put away the cannon.

...

And then I finally let my harpoon spin once more.

And then I walked. Never looking back. Since I knew that when I look back I will probably go back and try to take the ship with me.
