12 If it makes you happy

The next few days, Frozen Milk's fever still hasn't gone down. Every day when Prota went to work, Frozen Milk would sneak out to stalk Glimpse Water and every night he had to endure Prota's scolding and sleeping with him on the same bed. It seemed like Prota was overly keen about waking up to Frozen Milk every morning.

This time before Prota went to work, Frozen Milk had to bring up a topic which has been nagging him for quite a while now. It was to continue their quest of unifying the world.

They've been stuck in this place for a long time now without any progress.

"What is it? Are you feeling unwell? Do want me to stay with you?" Prota's hand sneakily tried to feel him up again. Frozen Milk evaded and cleared his throat, pretending not to see the disappointment on Prota's face.

"No, that's not it. I think we should start thinking about your goal or did you forget? Didn't you want to save this world? Shouldn't we do something else than to play house?"

Prota narrowed his eyes briefly before giving Frozen Milk a dazzling smile that hit him deep and made him question his sexuality for a second:

"Ah, you're right! It's time to move on. How should we go about it?"

Frozen Milk despaired. You wanted to save this damn world and had no idea what to do? Were you just aimlessly running around and boasting about unifying this damn place before you met me? Is that it? No wonder, everyone made fun of you! No wonder I gave you a tragic bs story! No wonder you're so naïve!

Yet Frozen Milk just smiled at Prota and closed his eyes. He always had a hard time recalling his story's plot. His protagonist first came to the water capital and made friends, then because he was the protagonist, he saved the major's daughter and earned brownie points.

He was allowed to have an audience with the major who listened to the protagonist's goal to save this world and supported him. He also allowed the protagonist to add his daughter to his harem and then gave him the quest to find the king of the nature side. As a result, he met the villain.

That was when the rivalry, fights with the villain started where the protagonist couldn't beat the villain. So, the protagonist aimed to become stronger, built up his team and widened his harem collection until finally, he was able to defeat the villain and got him to sign the peace treatment with the water side. This was how the protagonist unified the world and became the hero of this world.

This was how it was supposed to go before Glimpse Water transmigrated and instead of Prota saved the major's daughter and went on to receive the quest of meeting the villain. Glimpse Water thus got a taste of beauties and powers and lured Prota to go with him only to betray and kill him off.

Afterwards, Glimpse Water got Prota's power and defeated the villain and unified the world and became the king.

FUCK, Frozen Milk cursed and wanted to strangle himself with the imaginary red threat of the plot! There was none! It was a shit ton of clichés and stereotypes cluster piled upon another cliché trope. No wonder his book received so much hate!

There was nothing original, unique or interesting about it! It was just another stallion rip off swimming in the masses of the same pretentious crap!

You pull in a river full of crap? What did you expect to fish out but crap?

Of course, Frozen Milk did it on purpose to infuriate his readers but now! Now, Frozen Milk didn't enjoy it at all! No wonder he didn't want to recall this trashy book's story, it was a disgrace to all existing authors!

However, Frozen Milk calmed himself as Porta questioningly looked at him. At least, Frozen Milk had somewhat an idea of what was about to happen. The story's plot was already partly changed by his transmigration, but his characters still followed more or less their goals.

That was why Frozen Milk was sure that Glimpse Water's mission right now was to save the major's daughter instead of Prota. Frozen Milk couldn't let this happen! Prota was the one who had to save the beauty and resume the original storyline.

Finally, after this long internal turmoil, Frozen Milk picked up where Prota left off and said: "I have an idea. We should talk to the city major."

Yes, that was it. First, they needed to find out about the major to save the daughter.

"Ok, I will inquire about him at work. You stay and rest," Prota seemed reluctant to leave Frozen Milk but still got up.

Frozen Milk had a weird feeling but what he didn't know was that Prota has long thrown away the thoughts of saving the world. Prota was quite happy and content with the idea of living here alone with Frozen Milk in this house like this for the rest of their lives.

Prota also had no idea since when he had those feelings, but he felt weirdly at ease with Frozen Milk. Was it because Frozen Milk was his first friend? The first person to not laugh or ridicule him about his overblown dream to become a hero?

Or was it because Frozen Milk was there with him and for him, helped him and went along with every whim of his? Prota didn't know, all he knew was he enjoyed the time spent with Frozen Milk and definitely didn't want to leave his side and to never let Frozen Milk leave his side.

And if saving the world would make Frozen Milk happy, if it meant he didn't need to leave Frozen Milk, then he would gladly do anything to make him happy.

With those thoughts swarming his mind, Prota left the house to go to work and fulfil Frozen Milk's request. He wouldn't let Frozen Milk down.

Frozen Milk, on the other hand, didn't know all those complicated feelings spiralling down a certain path in his protagonist's head. All he was focused on was to stop Glimpse Water and let the original story prevail. Only then could he happily lay rest.

Once, Frozen Milk heard Prota leaving, he sat up straight, changed and went out. Before Prota would find out about the major, Frozen Milk had to finish Glimpse Water off. He apologised to Prota in his head as a ritual and left the house too.
