4 Love is Barrier

Jenny and James had been enjoying their time together while Edward was away. Bella, however, grew increasingly worried about Jenny's safety and well-being. After five days, Edward finally returned, but he seemed different, his behavior changed.

Curiosity sparked within Jenny and James as they eagerly asked Edward about Victoria and the events happening in the village. Sensing their excitement, James also mustered the courage to express his feelings for Jenny, unaware of Edward's concerns and the bitter truth he knew.

Edward's displeasure was evident upon hearing James' confession. He found Jenny different from others, and his knowledge of the consequences made him uneasy. This tension led James to leave the room, leaving Edward with a mix of regret and hope. He realized it was late to make the two young ones understand fully, but he felt compelled to talk to James.

At 5:00 in the evening, Edward asked James to take a walk with him. They ventured deep into the woods, leaving Jenny alone at home, where she decided to prepare dinner. Edward knew it wouldn't be easy to convince a young, passionate boy, but he carefully chose his words.

Edward explained to James the forbidden nature of a relationship between a vampire and a human. He emphasized that such a union would come at a high cost, even putting their lives at stake. However, James, blinded by love, failed to consider the potential consequences.

Edward's words were harsh and overwhelming, causing James to rush away without giving Edward a chance to clarify further. Edward tried to stop him, but James remained steadfast in his decision. Edward walked back home alone, weighed down by a heavy heart.

Jenny, oblivious to the conversation between Edward and James, eagerly awaited James' return, her eyes searching for him. But he never appeared. Edward, realizing the impact of his words on James, asked Jenny to pack her belongings. He explained that she had been cured and needed to leave because the worlds of vampires and humans were fundamentally different.

Reluctantly, Jenny packed her things, acknowledging the truth in Edward's words. Edward then dropped her back at Bella's house, urging her to stay away from James. Bella, overjoyed to see Jenny return, welcomed her inside, overwhelmed with happiness to have her friend back.

As Jenny settled into Bella's house, her mind filled with questions, but she didn't want to disturb Edward any further. Bella, treating Jenny as a patient, bombarded her with numerous inquiries, unaware that Jenny was unable to answer them due to Edward's request for secrecy.

The next morning, Jenny woke up to find a plate of cookies, a mug of black coffee, and a note on the side table. Bella had left for work early, mentioning an urgent task and the absence of the bakery's helper. Jenny pondered on how her life had changed in the presence of James and sought solace in the realization that their union was not meant to be.

After getting ready, Jenny headed to the bakery, where the baker warmly welcomed her back. Offering her assistance, Jenny skillfully prepared chocolates, taking pride in her newfound skill. When she finished her work, she decided to visit Bella's clinic.

Arriving at the clinic, Jenny noticed a long queue of patients. Seeing Jenny waiting at the door, Bella instructed her assistant to bring Jenny inside. The two friends engaged in a long-awaited conversation, catching up on lost time. Eventually, they decided to head back home together.

As Jenny stepped outside, she noticed something unusual—there was no one around Edward's clinic. This struck her as odd, so she asked Bella to go ahead while she investigated. Jenny approached the clinic's door, which was closed from the inside, increasing her concern. She decided to enter through the back gate, discovering a room that belonged to Edward—simple and filled with basic furniture.

In the room, she noticed her belongings from when she was anxious, causing her confusion as to why they were present in Edward's clinic. Suddenly, a sound caught her attention, emanating from the operating theater. Filled with a mix of fear and urgency, Jenny rushed towards it.

Inside the theater, a devastating sight greeted her—James lay lifeless, and Edward wept beside him. Jenny's heart shattered upon witnessing this tragedy, and she desperately sought answers. She asked Edward how and why James had died, and who was responsible.

In a blaming tone, Edward accused Jenny and her faith for everything that had unfolded. He revealed that a war had erupted on the outskirts of the village, and Edward had been defeated. Desperate to save James, Edward informed Jenny that the only thing that could potentially save him was human blood.
