"I heard what happened."

Alec's declaration snapped Genevieve out of her brooding trance and she caught a glimpse of the detective. She had been far too immersed in her troubling thoughts, so she was slightly thankful that he unknowingly pulled her out of it.

"Me too."

He huffed a chuckle at the blank retort, though he noted how there was no humor on her face. She closely resembled the Genevieve that was in a paramedic van some time ago, and Alec considered giving her an insult to get a rise out of her. But he later chose not to, seeing as the situation didn't really call for the digs he normally took at her.
