Chapter 148 - Anomaly of dark element

Ellie then said as she was instructed by Aile, "Violet's father is close to the family head of the White Clan. His son, the heir to the White Clan, has his eyes on her, I could see it. She is unofficially his."

Aile and Ellie ignored Violet's gaze and said, "So what, they are not officially anything, maybe it is just a one-sided admiration."

"He will deny it if she already has someone, that is simple," Aile said as he held Violet, whose body had become tense closer. Ellie smirked and said, "Who will she find? Do you think she will choose you, She barely knows you, she does not even know how you look. Not to mention what can you really offer her?" Ellie then gave a caring look from the bottom of her heart, showing her concern for Violet. She, in fact, agreed with what Aile told her to say. It was likely that such a situation would happen in the future. Therefore, she did not feel too forced doing this as it could be an indirect warning to Violet.

After that comment, Aile changed back the conversation, while they remained in his embrace. He had achieved his goal. The seed of doubt and urgency has been placed on Violet's heart. Once she makes a move and asks for Aile's help, finding the White Clan's plans will be much easier.

To make her more comfortable Aile started to ask about her past. He found out she was born in the White Clan. She gave a short preview of her past and what Aile noticed was hate and lack of gratitude when she mentioned the White Clan. After probing, he found out, she had deep hatred with a few of their upper echelon. With the help of Ellie, Aile managed to piece some information, her hatred of the White Clan had to do with her mother, a topic which she avoided.

Aile then asked Ellie some question to not make it seem like an interrogation. After Ellie talked, Aile revolved the question around Diana. This way, he can know a little more about her and also achieve his goal. Soon, seeing that the conversation was about Ellie's mother, Diana, Aile asked Violet about her mother.

Violet did not answer, Aile held her closer and lifted his cloth mask a bit and kissed her on the cheek, comforting her that it was ok if she did not want to answer.

Aile then started conversing back with Ellie, seeing that the trust with Violet had not reached the required stage. It was not long before Violet asked about Aile's mask.

Aile joked saying whether she wanted to know his face so that she can accept him. After all, Ellie did say that Violet does not know much about him, so she will not pick him as a partner, as she does not know how he looks. Violet blushed and denied it. However, she soon again asked about it.

Aile told her that he will trade a secret for a secret. He will ask her a question, and then she can ask him and then if she wants, he can reveal his face for her.

After which Violet asked a few questions about Aile, he responded honestly. Similarly, he asked about her past and figured out an interesting piece of news. Her mother has been put into a coma while she was young, and it was due to her beauty. Currently Duke White is keeping her alive by some method. She was endangered to such an extent due to some elder of White clan lusting for her. Hunter has already gotten rid of them, but it has remained an umbra in his heart.

After seeing Aile's face, she was initially mad at him for what happened years ago. Then she felt great as Aile opened up to her, and Violet acted closer to him. She knew once Hazel returns, she will not get an opportunity and offered the option to leave and hide in her house at a town close to Ferli. This town is under the jurisdiction of Hunter, and Violet had control over it. Making it the safest place to lay low.

Especially since no guard will search her property due to Hunter's reputation. Aile felt sorry for manipulating her and was surprised that she was secretly trying to remove him from Hazel's life and closer to her. It seemed that Aile's plan of her engagement with the White Clan scared her more than Aile predicted. Forcing her to consider him and going so far as to protect him. Hazel and Sara's conditions are getting worse. He has not found a solution to find a bloodline to allow him to cultivate both light and dark element past the second stage.

But contrary to having a worried expression, he was flirting with Violet. Without his knowledge, both the lust and greed seeds in his dark part of the soul were pulsating. Making him greedy and possessive of Violet.

Fortunately, he soon noticed that Hazel was done contracting the beast. This change brought clarity to him, and he figured out that he had taken the simple extraction of information from Violet too far. Aile evaluated his soul and noticed that his dark soul was behaving unusually once again. He simply ran the light element with restoration affinity, but he did not get the desired outcome. Aile finally realized that greed and lust were going wild in conjunction with each other. He tried to mix the restoration and altruism affinity with his light element to calm his soul. Finally, he managed to get a clear head. The issue was why it was only the dark part of his soul that acted out of control every time. From his knowledge, the light element should automatically balance the effects of his dark soul.

While he was trying to sort out the problem, Hazel had come back, and Violet was nowhere to be seen.

It seems that she had left once Hazel arrived. Now there was another problem, in his muddle state he showed his face to Violet. While it did get the desired result, the cost of the people from the White Clan finding out his identity and his link to Moon Merchant Union was too much to bear.

"We have a problem, Hazel."
