1 Chapter 1

"Hello, Sunless." A rich voice alerted Sunny to the presence of a mysterious young man standing behind him. His silver eyes pierced Sunny's gaze as the corners of his mouth curled up. 

Sunny did not have time to be shocked nor question why his shadow did not inform him he had company as the young man approached him. 

"Are you alone?" The stranger questioned. "No," Sunny replied with heightened vigilance. "Who are you? And why are you here?"

To this, the young man cackled and replied "I am lost… From Light."

A surprised yelp escaped from Sunny's mouth as his eyes widened in fear. With no time to lose, he summoned his memory, the Azure Blade, and lunged towards the young man, hoping to pierce those piercing eyes of his. 

But it was all for naught. With one word, the mysterious young man put an end to Sunny's rebellion. "Stop."

Sunny expended all his willpower in an effort to move. But there was nothing he could do. Trepidation engulfed Sunny. The insidious look that adorned the face of his new master frightened him.

But the menacing gleam in his master's eyes disappeared, replaced by a disapproving glare. "Who is that, Sunny?" It was Neph and Cassie! But the realisation dawned on him that he couldn't speak. He was compelled to answer, but he couldn't.

He felt a pain rising in his chest. The pain of ignoring his flaw, Clear Conscience. It kept getting more painful. Soon, it was all he could think about.
