2 Empyrean God-King

Kimaris walked for over twenty days before he reached a mountain range owned by no country, this was an area owned by no country, it was simply too dangerous because of the swarms of monsters pouring out from the worlds biggest gate, the gate is only ranked as a C gate, however, nobody wishes to venture into because of its vast size.

As he got closer, the more monsters that Kimaris had to pass, this was a unique gate as unlike others where monsters will pour out of it, this gate will release shadows of monsters, these are weaker monsters, however, they can regenerate very easily and quickly making them hard opponents for the average person.

After another 200km of walking, Kimaris had slain over 500 shadow beasts. As he got closer to the gate, the more of them that were around. The only positive of the situation that all shadow soldiers had equal power, however, as soon as one was gone the overall power of the others rose as if they were all connected as one and they needed to spread less power.

Because of this, Kimaris tried to evade them as much as possible, but he had still killed over 1000 by the time that he reached the gate.

As he was standing in front of the gate only then did he realise how colossal the gate was, the gate went higher than the clouds and one still couldn't see where it would finish. The amount of mana flowing out of it was also so much that it felt like gravity was distorting.

Kimaris struggled to go through the swarms of shadow monsters under such tough gravity, however, he still carried on striking down each shadow monster that got in his way until he finally reached the gate.

He quickly rushed through the gate, his vision went pearl white as it faded back to his normal vision where he noticed he was in an ancient tomb. The tomb was small, it was only one small room, it was as if the gate he had just entered was misleading or he got put into a different place.

The room was made with slate, it was dark except for the torches which lightly illuminated some areas, Kimaris followed the light towards what looked like a coffin from afar, and just like he saw, there was a coffin which was shut, there was a message written on it.

'Only those of pure Kesarch blood will be selected to be able to enter this tomb, here lie the remains of the 93rd patriarch of the Kesarch family, with him lies the pure blood of the Empyrean God-King which was borrowed to him, however, be wary. Those of the weak will, do not drink the blood, you will be consumed by the pure power of the Empyreans.'

Kimaris lifted the top of the coffin to find a dried-out skeleton which didn't have anything on it, it seemed like the old patriarch forcefully extracted all of the blood which resulted in his body like this. Right next to him, was a big vial of blood which was a pure red and golden colour.

Right after picking up the vial, he looked around to check if there was anything else, but, there was nothing. He quickly opened the vial and drank it.

His vision went fuzzy and his ears started to ring. His blood could be visibly coursing throughout his body while his heart could be heard from meters away. He kneeled down and screamed as he couldn't contain the pain until he eventually passed out.

When he finally awoke he was in space surrounded by stars, that was until a man formed from flames and appeared before him. "Good, good... You are strong unlike the previous one." That was when he lifted his hands and chains appeared binding Kimaris by his arms, legs, neck and waist.

Kimaris struggled until he found out that he couldn't budge the chains at all. "Maybe you will be able to do what the other one couldn't, it was a shame we had to lock him up so that my blood doesn't escape. Thinking about him, you have a familiar scent of not only him but you also have a scent of us like he did. Ah... You are also a Kesarch."

The man once again went up in flames but this time reappeared before Kimaris, he only wanted to ask one thing. "How do you know about my family?"

"Isn't that a silly question!" The man chuckled to himself. "I was there when the family was first formed, it was my own sister who decided to abandon her post and went off and married the founder of your family. She was the princess of Empyreans and also the heir to my position, she would have been a magnificent Empyrean God-Queen, but, she abandoned all of that for a simple human."

Kimaris looked at him speaking as if he didn't believe a single bit of it, "If the first patriarch got married to your sister, that means that..."

"Indeed, we are related by blood. However, my blood in you is just a slight margin of what it used to be with others in the past."

"All of this doesn't matter, I want you to tell me why you made my family do such actions with the 93rd patriarch."

"That is simple. When he took in my blood he couldn't hold it in, as a result he couldn't withstand his own dark side and succumbed to his wants. Those were merely his own actions."

"If that's the case, then will I become like him?"

"That is not the case at all, your will is much stronger, it can be seen from you being able to see me. When the last one absorbed my blood he was shackled here until he died, he couldn't see me at all. But you can."

Kimaris once again tried to struggle out of the chains, "How do I get these chains off, or, are you keeping me here?"

"Those chains are the result of my blood entering you. If you haven't noticed already, we are currently in your own consciousness. The scenery of your consciousness normally represents your power, the previous one was actually an ocean, that indicated that he had quite a vast potential, however, you... You're on a different scale. Those chains represent my power, the further you get with breaking the chains, the more of my power you will absorb. With my power, currently, I can help you loosen one of the chains."

"Aren't you meant to be the king of Empyreans? Are you unable to break your own chain?"

The Empyrean God-King laughed at Kimaris, "This is merely a wisp of my soul left in my blood, however, inside you, you possess the whole power of my blood. If I were still alive I would be able to easily break those chains."

"I see, so you're no longer alive. What happened to you?"

"When I borrowed my power to your family, I actually didn't please the rest of the Empyreans. My own brother actually rose against me and managed to defeat me due to weakening myself. However, I managed to transfer all of my power to that vial that I could. To start your journey I will loosen one chain, but I'm afraid that's all I can do."

"I see, in exchange for you loosening one of these chains I can promise you one thing. I will rise up above you and get you your spot back. But, you will also have to help me get rid of these gates appearing around Earth."

The Empyrean God-King laughed once more. "You're a funny one, I'll give you that. Okay, here goes nothing." The God-King put his hand out to one of the chains and it started to shake, Kimaris was able to move the chain a little bit, but it still wasn't enough to break it. The God-King once again went up in flames when the world around Kimaris started to break into tears and his vision once again went white.
