The Mysterious Book. Danger in the Darkness.

Earlier in the morning when Jak woke up he got up from the bed and decided to gather more information about this new world.

He went to the closet and put some close one, it was a beautiful blue robe made from some exquisite materials and blue pants.

"Now how do I get to the library, I know it's on the west side of the castle but how I get there?" said Jak to himself.

He went to the door and opened it, on the other side there were two guards in heavy armor standing on each side of the door. When they saw him they bowed.

"Young Master" said the guards.

"How can I go to the library?" Asked Jak.

One of the guards said. "It's on the west side os the Castel, but may get lost, it's better if one of the maids take you there young master."

"Go call one of theme to take me there then" said Jak, then he went back inside his room and waited.

After a while there was a knocking on the door.

"Come in. Oh its you Maria, good, take me to the library." Said Jak in a kinda friendly tone, after all she was one of the first persons he interacted after coming to this world.

"Yes young master." she responded in the same robotic manner.

Fifteen minutes later after walking through some corridors and a beautiful garden they came to a door that was guarded by ten guards, the door seemed to be made from some extremely heavy material, but it also seemed like it was made of wood. When the ten guards saw him they bowed.

"Open the door" said Jak

"Yes young master" said one of the guards who had a a red helmet. He was a big men, at lest 2.1 meters tall with a slight smile and kind eyes.

Then five of the guards pushed one side of the door and the other five pushed the other door, Jak was stunned, it took ten powerful men to open the door to the library.

"Is this the first time that young master saw a door made of thunderwood?" asked the guard with the red helmet.

"Yes, what is this thunderwood, what does it do?" Jak asked.

"Actually young master, not every one of the noble families can have a door made of thunderwood, not just becous it is expensive, but becous you also need a mage to carve in runes on the door and armor, if you look closely you can see the runes carved in our armors and the door." said the red helmet guard.

Jak was astonished." So the runes on the door is like a keyhole and you guys are like the key to open the door." said Jak" It is empressive but nothink especial".

"Yes you can say that we are like the key, but actually the most importante parte is, that if someone tries to enter by force the door will repel them using the power of thunder, that is naturally formed in the thunderwood, the power is so great that it could kill us ten if we didn't had the rune armors."

" Oh my God, just a simple door can have such power" Jak said inside his head.

Jak suddenly thought of something "How do I get out after you close the door?" He asked

"You don't have to worry young master, when you want to get out the door will automatically open, you just have to knock two times"

"Magic is really amazing" thought Jak to himself.

"Let's go in" he said to Maria next to him.

After they went in, one of the guards said to the red helmet men. "Captain is this the bastard child that the Lord brought from some remote village" The man's eyes turned cold, he's earlier smile disappeared and he said in a cold tone.

"You better watch your tongue if you don't want to lose it, no matter what he is still the Lord's child" after saying that he shut his eyes and stood straight ignoring the guard.

"Yes captain" said the guard in a frightened tone.

Inside the library Jak looked around, it wasn't a big space, about seven meters by twelve (about 22 feet by 34) there was a big table in the middle with chairs and a big fireplace on the other side of the room, on each side were bookshelves full with all kinds of books.

"I thought it would be bigger" said Jak

"Books are extremely expensive, the Sandford family library can be considered on of the biggest compared to the other noble familys" said Maria "at least that is what I heard in the Castel."

"Good you can go then." but beffor Maria could get out Jak suddenly said "Wait a moment"

"Do you need something else young master?"

"Do you have anymore of that toasted bread?" Jak asked.

Mariana was slightly stunned, why was the young master asking for that tasteless bread if he could have anything he wanted, even so she took the small bag from her waist and handed it to him.

"Thaks" said Jak "Now you can go."

After she went Jak looked at the books around him.

"Well I better get started, if I am correct there is something different about my eyes it shouldn't take me too long to finish all these books. It must be said that the Standford library really had a lot of books from plants and animals to history and geography, there was even a introduction book about magic.

In another part of the Castel, in a dark room with a weak light flickering, there was a tall man wearing a black cape with a black armor, in front of him there was a middle aged man in with robes, he had white hair and a white beard, blue eyes and a kind smile, this was Master Arnold.

"How is thath brat still alive?" asked the mysterious black armored men.

"I don't know, I used my special poisen, even if he didn't die, he should have gone blind?!" said Arnold.

"We didn't expect that Standford had another descendant in a remote village, well it doesn't rely matter, the biggest threat were his two sons and his daughter, they had astonishing magic talent" said the mysterious man.

"Yes when that brat was unconscious, I tested him and he had all of his passages broken, he is even worse then a commoner, hahaha." Arnold laughed.

"How about the book?" asked the mysterious man.

"I can't get inside the librery, I don't know who made these runes but they are extremely powerful, it will be very hard." said Arnold.

"Well you have to hurry, Elliot Stanford will come back soon from the capital, he is no fool after didn't finding anything about who was responsible for his children death, he will rush back, with him back it would be impossible for you to get in the library." said the mystirios man " here is a high rank low quality poisen pill, you know how to use it, you can't lose any time, do it tonight."

Arnold face changed. "Elliot left behind that freak Sam, I don't know if my strength is enough to take him down. "

"You just need to get the book, don't waste to much time on him, with the poison acting the others can tie him down, after this operation your cover will be exposed, you know what to do."

After saig this there was a strange glow and a bottle with a dark pill appeared on the table.

"Take it" after saying this the mysterious man disappeared like he was made of smoke.

"I wonder when I can get to the same level of power as the supervise" said Arnold to himself. "well I better go prepare everything for tonight."

Meanwhile in the library Jak was absorbed in the book.

"Hahaha this is amazing I can read and understand everything perfectly" After flipping trough many books he noticed that he could read, memoryze and understand everything, it was like there was no information that could hide from him, he even could deduce the facts from myths based on the information he got.

After such a long time reading he understood how to use his eyes ability.

After finishing the last book Jak was preparing to go away, when suddenly he thought.

"I wonder if there is a secret room like in the movies" he looked around but didn't see anything especial, after a while "I wonder if..." Jak concentrated on his eyes and they started to give off a purple glow, he saw that in a corner of the fireplace there seemed to be a brick that was glowing with a faint light. "haha it worked" Jak was excited.

He went to the fireplace and pushed the brick, then the wall in the back of the fireplace went down and a small room appeared. It had a statue of a man wearing an ordinary armor with a cape and a hood covering his face, he was holding a book with both hands.

"What it is this book" after Jak got closer the statue glowed faintly and it dropped the book.

Jak was momentarily startled, but after a while he went and picked up the book.

The book was all black, it wasn't very big, about 50 pages, it didn't have anything written on its cover.

Jak decided to take the book to his room to study it latter, he put it under his robe and went out. After he left the statue trembled and desintegrated.
