Chapter 47: How To Fight a Dragon [Part 1]

Cale Valentine POV:

Oh, a sleeping dragon, I chuckled, "Hey, do you want to know the best way to wake up a sleeping dragon?" I asked my new companion before using Material Creation.

I think Velzard once allowed me to discipline Veldora if I see him, but my memories are too blurry right now for me to fully remember.

I formed a long metal rod while walking to the dragon's back. I once heard that a dragon's only weak point is where it doesn't have any scales.

I infused it with my shadows so I could use the new spell I was working on. A spell that attacks the target's physical, spiritual, and astral body at the same time, "Take it in the ass and die!" I shoved the big metal rod inside, and instantly, Veldora woke up.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!" He roared in pain, and his tail sent me flying away.

I tried to stabilize myself in the air and looked at the large black dragon with the metal rod still sticking out of its back.

"Who dares interrupt the mightly storm dragons sleep!" He roared and pulled out the rod before focusing on me.

The clouds gathered ominously above us as lightning bolts rained around us. Veldora, the Storm Dragon, hovered above me, his massive wings beating against the air, creating a whirlwind that threatened to uproot trees and tear apart the earth beneath us.

"A Human?" He looked at me, "No, you aren't human. I see you are a Demon Lord. It doesn't matter. You will pay for what you have done!" Without warning, Veldora unleashed a blast of wind and lightning, hurtling toward me.

I raised my hand, and a shadowy liquid shot out of it, making a shield that absorbed Veldora's attack, dispersing it harmlessly around him. It was one of the shadow-type magic I made, and combined with multiple shadow soldiers, it made powerful spells.

"Oh, so you blocked my attack." He looked amused, "Not bad young demon lord, but it's not enough to win against me! That spell was but a fraction of my true power. HAHAHA!" Seeing him speak like that, I understand why he enjoyed reading all the mangas.

"Sorry, but your sister said that if I ever run into you, I should give a good scolding just as a reminder," I said, having a hard time flying while slightly drunk.

"Wait, my sister?" He backed up a bit, "You're kidding, right..." I could see him panicked, "You're kidding. Please, tell me you're kidding."

"Well... I think that's what she said. It's hard to remember due to everything being so fuzzy." I answered. She said that I shouldn't antagonize him or that I shouldn't torment him too much.

I can't seem to remember her exact words right now, "Well, that doesn't matter. I wanted to fight something strong and found you here."

"HAHAHA!" He laughed, "At least you have the guts to face the mighty storm dragon, so don't disappoint me now, young demon lord."

Veldora launched himself toward me, his claws aimed at my chest. But with lightning reflexes, I sidestepped Veldora's attack, and in a swift motion, I materialized my sword, coated it with the same spell I used on the metal rod, and attacked back.

I think I will call the spell Death's Touch... Well, it's still a work in progress, so the name can change.

The blade connected with Veldora's scales, sending sparks flying. Veldora roared in pain but countered with a barrage of lightning-infused attacks, each strike with enough power to easily kill a Demon Lord Seed, maybe even a weaker True Demon Lord.

While I'm still weaker than Veldora, I can use the size difference between us to dodge his attack and have a much easier time landing blows on him.

I started dodging the bolts of lightning. Shadows trailed behind me, forming dark tendrils that lashed out at Veldora. The tendrils entwined around Veldora's limbs, restricting his movement.

With a roar, Veldora summoned the power of the storm, causing a massive cyclone to form around him. The winds howled, and the rain poured, creating a stormy barrier that threatened to obliterate anything within its path.

I stood underneath with my glowing purple eyes looking at the cyclone with awe at the sheer power behind them, "Not bad!" I shouted so he could hear me as my shadows collided around me, shielding me from the storm's fury.

Within the shadows, I started closing the distance between myself and Veldora.

With a single swing of my shadow-infused sword, I struck at Veldora's side. The blade pierced the Storm Dragon's scales, drawing blood and making Veldora roar in pain.

"How is it possible? How can your attacks hurt me?"

"Huh? Just get good, kid..." Was my reply as I continued dodging and trying to attack, but I wasn't fast enough, and a lightning bolt severed my left arm.

"Arghhhhhhhh!" I screamed through gritted teeth as pain resistance wasn't enough to ignore the pain of losing an arm. Thankfully I had Infinite Regeneration, so in seconds, my arm regrew.

I started dodging the attacks, my Thought Acceleration working at its fullest ability as I thought of a plan to win this.

"Fuck it. If a Death's Touch on an infused sword works, then a shadow soldier using it should too," I said and chuckled, "Everyone out!"

Instantly an army of thousands of shadows, including the shadow generals, came out of my shadow.

"What are your orders, my liege?" They asked.

"Attack the dragon with all you have." I said before activating my new sub-skill, "Monarch's Domain!" My shadow expanded, looking like a gust of black wind, and all my shadows instantly got a boost in power.

"It's time to end this," Everyone charged at the storm dragon that was slightly surprised at the strength of everyone.

The battle continued for days. My army continued to expand due to the unfortunate monster that got caught up in the battle. Somehow we managed to stay close to the same area the battle started without leaving the forest.
