3 Chapter 1 The Devil Wears A Suit?

Honestly...I'm surprised I died. I thought that if I'm to die then atleast it would have to be in a grand event like dying in a huge explosion, sacrificing myself to save others. Who could have thought that a natural death caused by old age was just as efficient. To be specific 83 years.

I wonder if its going to be like they say, going to hell or heaven...probably hell. I wouldn't mind going to hell it sounds like a place that never has a second of boredom

Though right now Im not even sure where I am now, its just all darkness..its like being underwater. Except its a dark sea that has no end to it.

I wonder how much Im going to be here its already been a few hours..or maybe days..or was it weeks. Im not sure all I know is that Im here for sometime now.

"Look what we have here..a puny little mortal" A cold voice sounded through the void. It held a feeling of superiority and a small amount of joy..as if finding a new toy to play around with.

The voice paralyzed Kaito's body..well if he had any body. It caused a electricity like feeling to go down his spine.

Suddenly, a strange creature appeared right in front of Kaito. The creature had human like features and yet he gave of a beastly feeling. He had dark long hair similar to a lions mane, dark eyes with a golden sclera and surprisingly he wore a elegant black suit.

"I wonder how you got here, any soul entering should have long since been disintegrated..only if" he said the last part with quite the curiosity.

The only problem was that this curiosity was the type that you wouldnt want to be the target of.

"Who are you?" I had to ask, I've been here for too long if he can help me to get out..then I have to try anything.

Kaito realised one thing by his words..the creature wasnt here to help nor to be hostile. He himself was really just a small distraction that the creature find for itself.

"Exactly, your just a small distraction.. And so as compensation for distracting me...hmm let me think..How about you give me you arm or maybe a leg would be better"

Silence, Kaito didnt know what to say. What do you mean compensation..for what god damm it.

Just as Kaito was about to start cursing at both this creatures ancestors and descendants he was interrupted.

"Well you could always just give me your..soul" The creature said these words as if it was the most normal thing in the world, paying no attention to how it sounded.

"What do you mean my soul? As if, who do you think you are showing up and acting like the devil or something" Kaito finally just couldnt hold it in anymore. Im not sure if souls even exist but If I really have one then Im not about to give it away

"Actually, the devil is my third cousin" The creature responded with a deadpan face

It took a while for Kaito to digest what he just said.

"Stay for gods sake away" Kaito quickly went crazy and started praying in every language he knows even in gibberish, while creating a cross with his two fingers. He even tried to back away himself just to find out he still cant move.

"FOOL, of course Im the devil..I killed my cousin centuries ago" The so called devil whispered those last few words to himself, but Kaito still heard every single word

If Kaito could have moved his body then his jaw would have dropped at how bold this creature was with his words. Even worse was the fact that the creature said these words as if trying to prove himself.

After that these words were said, the creature or the devil started moving around Kaito in a circle while talking to him, completely ignoring Kaitos shock.

"So...How about it? Would you give me your soul?

Its not like your going to miss it..also dont worry I would compensate you for it..just like the rest that came before you"

Looks like his words quite intrigued Kaito

"Compensate..How exactly?

"Looks like you finally caught on, well it depends on the quality of your soul. Every soul naturally gives of light, the more intense and brighter that light the more value the soul has...do you want me to check?

Kaito considered his words for sometime and thought about it. Its not like I want to stay here forever, I should wait to see what he offers then I decide. Kaito knew that this thing in front of him can read his mind but at this point he didnt care.

"Fine do it, I decide my answer after this"

"Your word is my command" the sarcasm was obvious

This devil then put his hand or rather claw onto Kaito's chest. And after some time his hand seperated but this time with a perfectly clear orb of light within the devils hand.

The moment the orb left Kaito's chest he felt as if he lost a part of himself..but this feeling dissapeared just as fast as it came.

Looking closer at the orb Kaito realised one thing immediately bright, very bright. Even the devil had a surprised expression.

"Well would you look at that..brighter than expected..Lets see this should give you the basic bonuses..plus 3 wishes"

He sounds like a business man, but the way he said it..yep a con man.

"You do remember I can read your thoughts right..right?" Lets just say that when he said this his eyes turned dangerously sharp.

"Cough..cough..back to topic, do I really get three wishes?" Although it might not look or sound like it, Kaito was really excited about the wishes.

The surrounding air just became rather tense as if expecting the devils next words.

"Well of course, I always keep my word, now then..I will ask one more and final time, after you answer you cant take it back"

"Kaito Kurayami, will you sell me your soul?"

Kaito long since decided his answer

"Yes"

The instant he said it, something changed deep inside him it was similar to the feeling when his soul got taken out..but this time it was different. It was stronger..a lot stronger.
