26 Opening a weapon store 2

Adam and Yassir arrived at school on time. They passed through the noisy and loud crowd of students in front of the building, unwillingly listening to their judgments. But a lot of them had changed their behavior toward Adam after the fight yesterday.

Some of them started to fear him not only because he showed great strength. But also because he was friends with two of the most popular students in school, Yassmine, and Yassir. These two were the heirs of two of the most influential families in the city. So naturally, they won't talk about him in his presence as not to offend him.

While others started to admire him. They were the weak students of humble origins like him. He represented hope, assurance and a role model to them.

Adam and Yasir went straight to the basic survival techniques class. While his classmates were focusing on the teacher, Adam was refining his inner energy.

It's not that he wasn't serious about studying or doesn't care about his grades. In fact, it was the opposite, Adam's grades were above average in all the subjects. He even had perfect scores in some classes like the fighting training class where he has never been defeated. It's just that he had already learned everything they will teach him in this class by himself while hunting in the forest for the past two months. And he had even developed great survival skills like enhanced vision and enhanced hearing.

After practicing the Inner energy refinement technique for the past month and especially after he trained the skill while enhancing his intelligence, it became easier for him now. He purified his inner energy smoothly inch by inch until the class finished.

He was able to feel the changes in his inner energy clearly as his refining speed had increased greatly. The power of his inner energy had doubled compared to how it used to be before he started practicing the skill. So every skill he uses will be two times stronger than what it originally was.

After school, Adam went to the Independence tower where the hunter guild settled. It was a magnificent sky-high structure located in the center of the city that dwarfed everything built around it. It was covered entirely with glass panels and on top of it, the statue of the king was standing gloriously protecting his kingdom for the sky. This tower is by far the most important building in Independence city.

Adam pushed the double-sided glass door And entered the big reception extravagant hall. Unlike the modern style of the exterior, the interior was like an ancient chateau. Every piece of furniture in the reception was top-notch, beautiful glass chandeliers hanging in a row from the ceiling that was covered with rare tapestry illustrating epic battles between humans and monsters.

Adam went straight toward the brown wooden desk where the secretary was waiting for clients.

"Excuse me, in which floor the hunter guild's bureau is?"

The secretary looked at him for a short time before saying:" What a kid like you wants from the hunter guild? This is not a place to fool around."

"I came here to buy a store in the hunter guild market," Adam said while trying to keep his cool as he felt offended by her words.

The secretary inspected him from head to toes then chuckled: "Hahaha, what a fool." she thought. "Do you know how much does the smallest store in the market cost." The secretary assumed that Adam hasn't the money. Looking at his old cheap clothes she realized that he was from a poor family.

Even after he had the money, Adam didn't care enough to waste time shopping for clothes. But, now he realized how grave his mistake was. In business, one's appearance is very important especially when you are a 16 years old boy.

Adam felt disappointed and at the same time angry for being rejected just for some trivial reasons as his clothes. He turned around and was about to head back home. When he saw a familiar figure entering by the tower's gate. It was Yassir's father the head of the Golden lions family.

When he looked at Adam he recognized him as well. So, he came toward him and said with a little grin on his face:" Hello son, good to see you again."

"The pleasure is mine," Adam responded respectfully. Although this man was his friend's father, he is still one of the cities leaders. So Adam behaved politely in front of him.

"You don't have to be so polite. My son told me that you are best friends. So you are like my son now."

"I was just coming here to attend a boring meeting with the other noble families' leaders for the upcoming tournament. But, I didn't think I will meet you. Anyway, what brings you here?"

"I want to buy a store in the Hunter guild market to do some business. But it seems the secretary right there isn't making things easy to me." Adam sounded a little bit disappointed.

"Oh! I see. I can help you with that. But I don't encourage you to do anything besides training your skills, especially right now when there is less than a month for the junior fighter tournament to start. By the way if you need some money I can help you with that."

"Thanks, but I am actually doing great with my training."

"I can see that you have reached D-rank so you are naturally confident. But still, with your current skills, I can tell you will make it to the top 10 but nothing more. You know that all the heirs of the five big families had reached the D-rank and their skills are stronger than yours. besides them, there are the second and third-year students who had practiced more than you did. Finally, there is the previous year tournament winner Felix Storm who is a C-ranker."

"Thank you a lot for this valuable informations," Adam said looking confused about why he is giving him some crucial information. After all, Adam may be his son's opponent in the tournament.

"Do you remember when I told you that you are like my son? I really meant it not just some stupid courtesy."

"I am happy to hear that," Adam said yet he wasn't happy. He lied, he was very anxious about his true motive.

"If you really want to be at the top of your generation you shouldn't bother yourself with earning money, but instead, focus on your strength. So I have a great offer for you."

"An offer? For me?" Adam said while his face couldn't hide his surprise and cautiousness.

"I will let you join our family. You will be able to train your skills peacefully, learn the skills of our library. You won't have to worry about money anymore and both of you and your mother can move to our big castle. Also, people will start to call Adam Golden Lion."

"I appreciate what you are doing for me a lot, yet I don't wanna have any shortcuts in my journey. I want to rely on my self."

Adam finally understands why he was helping him all this time from the reward he had given him to his fake care. He already knows about Adam's ability from the incident with the clay creatures. So now he is recruiting him to strengthen his family.

"Isn't it a bit difficult this way. I know you have the talent, yet you need someone experienced in fighting to help you and guide you so that you will be able to unlock all your potential."

"Thanks for the advice but I guess I can do that on my own." Adam is keeping his courtesy as he couldn't let him see through what he was thinking.

"Well, if that's what you want, I won't insist even when you are wasting a big opportunity. Just know that you are always welcomed whenever you want to be part of our family."

"Thank you, sir. For understanding me."

"Anyway, do you still want to buy that store in the Hunter guild market?"

"Yes, absolutely."

"Well, let me help you with that. The head of the Hunter guild is my friend."
