After he absorbed the shadow, Adam felt so powerful. He is now certain of beating his opponent. So he didn't pay any attention to him and just walked toward his mom. He untied her gently and said, " mom, don't worry. It's over now. I will never let this happen again. I promise. I will always protect you."

Even she was still afraid, Merry was deeply touched by his words. So tears started to fall on her cheeks. She could see her son grows up and becomes a mature man who is capable of protecting both of them.

The last two days, were very tough for her. Not only she was afraid of dying but also of losing her son. After she had seen how strong and reliable he is, she was finally reassured.

When they left the room, they found five men holding swords. Adam recognized one of them he was the one whom he has just fought.

"How dare you block my way after I sparred your life. You even brought your friends. You think you can win if you outnumber me." Adam said while approaching them.

"Attack him together," the tall man said, and they jumped on him. Though Adam dodged them easily. Now he is two times faster then he used to be before he absorbed the shadow. He was able to attack at the same time. No one was able to withstand one attack of his. Soon all the enemies were defeated they couldn't even stand up from the pain. Their bones were broken by Adam's metal-like fists.

"I don't wanna see you again. Don't even think of revenge cause if we meet again I'll make sure to finish you." Adam had warned them before he left.

After they had arrived home, Adam went to his room and locked the door after him. He has a lot of questions that he can't answer.

"My strength has increased so much in the last two days. It must be related to the shadows I keep absorbing whenever I take someone's life. It looks like I have the ability to absorb dead bodies' energies. But how can I have an ability? I who has zero talent. It is well known that people can't have abilities unless they reached at least the E Rank. People with poor talent will need to accumulate world energy for almost all their life. But with my zero talent, I will never reach that rank even if I live for a thousand years. So where on earth have I gotten my ability from?" Adam analyzed his new power.

Adam kept thinking about his new power and the possibilities it could bring. "Now I have new hope to pursue my dreams. This ability will be the key to get stronger. Until I have the strength to protect myself, I should hide it from others."

Adam was deeply thinking about the situation at school when a blonde-haired boy who has the same size, bumped into him. So Adam who was in deep thoughts fell on the ground.

"Hey! Watch out, man!" Adam shouted.

"Your mouth is so big for a cripple. I should teach you a lesson to now your place." the blonde-haired boy said.

"Look over there. Ilyass the successor of the Scarlet Flame family is getting trouble for that cripple from the talent test."

"That cripple deserves a beating. He didn't make space for Ilyass and even dared to shout at him."

"Does he think he is a big shot or something? Even I who has an average talent wouldn't be compared to him. He has legendary talent like the city lord. And he was able to reach the E rank before even entering high school"

Adam heard the unfair crowd with patience as he kept his calm. Because he had already made up his mind. He will not show his ability unless he has the power to protect himself. So Adam just tried to go on his way to avoid a fight. But He was stopped by Ilyass who was unwilling to let it slide.

"Where do you think you are going? If you don't beg for my forgiveness I will crash like a bug." the yellow-haired boy threatened

Adam was unshaken by Ilyass menace. So he just kept walking. But Ilyass who was ignored couldn't bear his anger. He launched a strong fist to Adam's back. But due to Adam's newly enhanced senses, he was able to dodge it.

Ilyass tried to launch another fist but his arm was tightly grabbed by a teacher.
