2 New Hope 1
The dark smoke started to condense forming a humanoid specter. Although terrified, Adam felt a strange attraction to the smoke, as if his body wanted to approach it. The shadow that now looks like the dead man was flying toward Adam who was unable to flee. Upon reaching him the shadow turned to smoke again and entered his body from the nose and the ears. Adam who could no longer stand started to throw up, then he blackout.
Adam opened his eyes slowly. He was lying in his bed. But unlike every morning, he had no desire to go back to sleep. He was so worried about himself and his mother. So The first thing he did was checking his body. After confirming It was totally fine, he left his bedroom looking for his mom.
"MOM, MOM! Where are you?" he called before going downstairs.
Adam couldn't find his mom nor the corps. So he tried to phone her but still no response. He started to get worried. "Could it be that aggressor had accomplices. But why would they target my mom? That man was strong he couldn't be acting without a motive. But he has nothing to do with us. Did someone hire him to target my mother?"
Adam couldn't figure out where his mom disappeared or why she had been targeted." Could it be the Scarlet Flame family? But they wouldn't risk being found out just to punish one of there maids. After all, they could do it when my mom is in their mansion."
He tried to think about all the suspects that had the power and were in bad terms with his mom. Finally, he remembered hearing the owner of the house threatening his mother by sending them out if they don't pay the fees in time.
"It must be that greedy elder. He kept increasing the fees every month and threatening the tenants to pay." Adam thought.
Adam took two knives from the kitchen and hide them in his jeans. Then he headed toward the suspect's office which was just at the end of the street. He didn't want to call the police because of the murder.
When he entered the office he pretended to be just a normal client. He knew he couldn't defeat the owner and all his underlings by himself. So he decided not to draw their attention.
" How can I help you, young man?" a lady in her twenties asked him gently.
"I want to see your boss," he demanded even knowing she would say no.
" Mr.Othman is busy right now. But I can help you with whatever you want." The lady rejected his request politely.
"No, thank you." He said while heading toward the bathroom located on the right of the reception.
"You haven't told me your name. So that I can inform Mr.Othman?" the lady said while looking at Adam suspiciously.
Adam kept walking and pretended he didn't hear her. He couldn't tell her his name or else she will know the reason he came there.
Upon entering the toilet, he closed the door and then opened the Ventilation tubes' window with his knife. He kept walking on his knees slowly and carefully to avoid any noise while listening to the sound when he reaches every new room. Finally, he found the room where his mom was locked. He could see two men wearing black suits from the slots of the Ventilation window. One of them was a tall muscular man while the other was Mr.Othman. Adam decided to wait until they go to rescue his mom because he has no confidence in beating the tall man.
SLAP!
"Hey! Little b**ch, wake-up! Did you think you could just kill one of my men without any punishment? I will torture you till you wish you were dead." Mr.Othman said to Merry that kept looking at him in the eyes.
The tall man was taking out a set of torturing tools from his bag when the ventilation window suddenly broke. Adam couldn't hide anymore and let his mom alone with those monsters. He rushed toward the tall man who had been taken by surprise and aimed for his heart. But the man blocked the knife with his lift arm, then countre attacked with his right. Although Adam took the heat head-on he wasn't sent flying like last time when he fought the aggressor. He even managed to take back his weapon.
"You look much weaker compared to your friend back," Adam said while hiding his second knife under his sleeve.
"You b*ster. Are you the one who killed Arlo? You are so f*cking dead..." The tall man whose face turned red said.
Adam charged to him again before he could even finish his words. He targeted explicitly the head this time and as he expected his opponent dodged easily but before he could finish him with his second knife he was sent flying.
"Condensed Energy Ball" the elder shouted.
Adam spat a mouthful of blood after he had been heated by a blue energy ball the size of a fist.
"You shouldn't have forgotten about me, little kid," Mr.Othman said with a mocking face.
"Who would have thought the elder has a special ability. He must be at least an E ranker. He is a mid-range fighter. I must finish him first."Adam thought.
"Condensed Energy Ball."
The elder sent another shot but Adam who was prepared dodged it easily. He then tried to attack him but was stopped by the tall man.
"Condensed Energy Ball."
He was obliged to back off as the elder kept shooting his energy ball.
"As expected, although the elder has a special ability his body is too old to fight. He is unable to dodge hence the tall man has to defend him" Adam analyzed.
He dashed this time toward the tall man but before he could reach him he threw his knife toward the elder. The later who couldn't dodge was stabbed in the head. The tall man rushed to help him but he stopped midway when he saw black smoke coming from him.
"What the hell did you to my boss?" the tall man screamed in fear.
Adam who was also terrified couldn't speak. He remembered what had happened in the house back then.
The shadow which resembled the elder flew toward Adam. He tried to attack it but to no avail. the knife passed through the shadow as if he was thin air. The shadow entered Adam's body. But the later was no longer terrified because he felt amazing, he was like a thirsty man drinking water. soon he could feel his body flooded with energy.
