14 Fighting a C-ranker 2
After the big clay slime had split into 4 smaller slimes, it chased after the four boys.
The four slimes were like big snails that left a viscid-sticky liquid wherever they went. But contrary to the snails the four slimes were very fast with their ice boarding like movement.
Adam stopped running when he remarked that the other three are very slow and they will be caught soon. Yassir was severely injured and the two archers needed to help him move.
"Hey, run as fast as you can. I will stall them for a while."
"Inner Energy legs," Adam shouted as he threw himself like a rocket toward the four slimes.
He slammed a slime with his dark feet combined with the power he gained from the velocity. But the attack was nullified as soon as it landed on the sticky slime. His leg was stuck in the monster's body so he was unable to withdraw it.
"Ahhhhh!" Adam screamed as he felt his leg dissolving.
The clay slimes contained a very high concentrated acid. It managed to melt the corpse of a D-rank white beast in seconds.
The other three slimes were also coming toward Adam. but before they could reach him, he had activated his skill: Inner energy legs while slamming the ground with his left feet. So he was launched high in the sky and managed to free his right leg. His right shoe and pants were already gone. And part of his skin and flesh had also melted. But Adam hadn't the time to think about his injuries cause the four slimes had shaped into a sort of canons and started shooting him with clay slimes.
Adam was still in mid-air so he was not able to dodge so he only defended his head and organs with his arms and legs. Before he could land again he was already severely injured. White smoke evaporated from all his body and his clothes had partially melted.
"Ahhhhh!" Adam screamed from pain as he fell to the ground.
The slimes rushed toward him with great bloodlust. But they suddenly stopped as a loud voice sounded from far away.
"Screeeeeech" Yassir used his skill Sound of Provocation. It's a technique that only his family can use as they have the ability to control sounds. It provokes the enemies and obliges them to respond to the fighting invitation. Though, it doesn't work on intelligent beasts who reached the A rank.
The four slimes headed toward the origin of the sound with crazy speed. They were so enraged to the extent of crushing everything in their way.
"These clay beasts are very strong, they must be C-ranker. I need to help the other flee before the slimes reach them." Adam thought.
He used the last bits of his power to jump toward the origin of the sound. His goal wasn't to fight the slimes this time. He knew they were too strong for him. Instead, he targeted the other beasts nearby that accidentally heard the sound and started also coming toward it. If he could kill them before the slimes arrive. He will be able to heal himself and help Yassir and his friends flee.
"Inner energy eyes" Adam used another technique that increases his eyesight. he became able to see the beasts who were rushing toward the sound from three miles away.
With another high jump, Adam showed up in front of dozens of E rank beasts.
Yassir and the two archers hide on a tree branch. They hoped the slimes won't sense them. But they had underestimated the senses of a C-rank beast.
The four slimes came toward the tree without wasting any time to figure out where the humans were hiding. The tree melted as soon as the slimes enveloped it. Yassir and the two archers fell on the ground and were instantly surrounded by the slimes.
"Sound Waves." Yassir desperately used a sound attack skill with the little energy he still had. But to his surprise, the clay slimes had several distortions while retreating.
"Sound Waves" Yassir repeated his attack so the slimes' deformations increased and some of their parts fell to the ground. They were paralyzed and couldn't attack nor go away.
After he was fully healed and restored his stamina and Inner energy, Adam joined the fight. But to his surprise, Yassir had already turned the table on the enemy.
"It seems that these slimes are weak against sound attacks," Adam said.
"Look! Something is sparkling inside that slime." one of the archers remarked.
"Attack it with the arrows! It must be the beast's core." Adam told the archers.
"Energy Arrows." the archers said at the same time as they formed white arrows with their inner energy.
When a white arrow pierced the shining core it was broken into dust. And the clay surrounding it collapsed.
The archers attacked the other two cores as soon as they were revealed. As for the last one Adam snatched it from inside the beast. And as he expected the slime fell to the ground.
"This crystal is what maintained the slime's body. But one thing is for sure this slime is not a leaving being. Because there was no shadow coming from it after it collapsed." Adam thought while looking at the purple crystal in his hand.
_plop_Yassir fell to the ground unconscious.
"Brother Yassir, what happened to you."
"Don't worry he will be all right. He fainted because he used all his energy in the sound attacks." Adam who had the sharp senses of D rankers said.
"We need to take him to the hospital. He had lost a lot of blood." the two archers said then tried to lift Yassir on their backs but they failed because he was a tall muscular man and with his thick armor he weighed over 500kg.
The two archers turned their heads toward Adam at the same time.
"What? Do you want me to carry him from here to the city."
"Please, he could die if he isn't healed soon."
"No, he won't. But if you insist then I will borrow his armor. As you can see I am almost naked. I can't return to the city like this."
Adam returned to the city with the two archers. Then he returned home to take a shower and wear his clothes. Then he headed toward the Golden Lions Family headquarters to return the armor.
When he arrived at the magnificent medieval style palace, the guards welcomed him warmly and told him that the family's patriarch wanted to see him personally. Then they accompanied Adam to the reception hall.
It was very vast but unexpectedly simple. The walls and the floor were stone-grey. One can suspect he had returned in time to the medieval because the hall didn't contain any light bulbs or lamps, the only source of light was a big chandelier in the center of the hall with several small candles.
On the Iron big chair inside the room, a scary old man in his battle armor was seating mightly. When he saw Adam, his eyes lit up. "Come in, kid. Are you the hero who saved my son and his servants from the beasts," he said.
"Yes sir, my name is Adam and I'm a student at Independence High School."
"I, the head of the Golden Lions Family want to thank you on behalf of every member. When you saved my son, you had saved the future of all the Golden Lions Family. Because Yassir is the family's next patriarch. Also, I want to reward you. So tell me what do you want?" the patriarch said with a smiling face.
But Adam didn't know why he kept feeling uncomfortable. "It must be because this is the first time I meet someone this strong," Adam told himself in order to calm down.
"There is no need to thank me, sir. this is my duty."
"You are so humble, for a teenager your age. I wish my son was as polite and strong as you are. But still, you should tell me what you want as a reward. because it's your right and you deserve it."
