33 Entering seclusion

Adam was currently in his bedroom sitting as usual on the ground while resting his back on the side of his bed. On his left, there was a sack full of different types of weapons that he bought from the market an hour ago. The weapons were very common and cheap. They were composed of ten swords, ten shields, five bows, five spears, and one armor, which cost him 4000$ in total.

Adam took a sword between his hand and started pouring his unrefined energy into it. When he sensed that the sword was filled with energy, he sealed it inside with the Sumbo family's inscription.

Adam repeated the same process for all the other weapons, which took him the entire morning. When he finished, he felt extremely tired as he used most of his inner energy. But he couldn't help but smile at the sight of all those enchanted weapons in front of him that will bring him lots of money.

Adam also realized that the process became much easier and faster with every single weapon he created, which means his energy sense and energy manipulation had both increased.

Adam left his room and headed toward the kitchen to eat lunch with his mom. "Mom, I have some good news for you. I have just finished creating the weapons that I told you about. So we will be able to open the store starting from tomorrow."

"That's great! You have really done a good job, son. I am very proud of you." Marry said with an enthusiastic tone full of admiration and love. She had never thought that one day she will quit working as a maid for the Scarlet Flame family and start a business of her own. All she hoped was that her son won't get influenced by the bad environment in their neighborhood. And that he will be able to find a good job when he graduates from high school. But to her surprise, only sixteen, Adam was able to start a business of more than a hundred thousand dollars.

"I am taking the weapons and the skills scrolls to arrange them in the shop. Do you wanna come with me?"

"Yes, I am so excited to see the shop."

After they both had changed their clothes, they left home and took a taxi to the Hunter guild market. Finally, they arrived in front of a small store. It was made of white stones and humbly decorated with wooden shelves and two artificial plants. Even the minimalist style of the shop it was well-equipped and located in the biggest commercial center in the city.

Adam started to put the weapons in their respective places one by one and told his mom their prices. While she took note.

The sword and spears were 1000$ each. While the bows and shields were 1500$ each. As for the armor, it was 2500$. Hearing these numbers Marry's mind went blink. She who worked 12 hours a day and every day, can only get 1000$ a month from her job as a maid. However, her son was now carrying a sack full of weapons that each of them costs more than her monthly salary.

"Aren't you afraid of being robbed?" She couldn't help but ask.

"Don't worry about thieves. This market belongs to the Hunter guild which was created by the city lord himself. No one will dare to break the law here. Besides, patrol guards are everywhere."

"Now I see. You haven't chosen the Hunters markets for no reason."

"Indeed."

When Adam finished arranging the weapons, he took five scrolls and placed them in glass showcases. They were Inner Energy Fist, Inner Energy Leg, Enhanced Vision, Enhanced Hearing, and Weapon Reinforcement. Adam decided to sell each of them with 10000$ which was the standard price for most of the low-tier skills. Adam, of course, has other skills like Mind Enhancement, Inner Energy Refinement, and Golden lion flesh... But he couldn't sell them as some of them were his trump cards, while others were only gifts that he didn't own their copyrights.

"I am so excited to start work."

"Well, I think that everything is ready now. So you can start working from tomorrow."

Finally, Adam and his mother decided to return home. Adam felt relieved that their financial situation stabilized and he found his mom a better job. But he knew that he had wasted a lot of time that he should have spent in training. Because from tomorrow there will be only 15 days left before the start of the tournament.

To make up for the time that he lost, Adam decided to put more effort into his training and enter seclusion for the next two weeks. Even though that means he will skip classes for the whole period. He thought the administration wouldn't punish him severely if he was ranked at the top 10 or the top 3.

So the first thing that Adam did as soon as he reached home, was to tell his mom about his plan. Then he headed to his room and locked the door behind him.

Marry totally disagreed with the skipping classes part. And wanted to prevent him from doing it. But she decided not to. Because of the maturity and responsibility that he showed lately. And she felt that he knew what he was doing.

Firstly, Adam took the inner energy measurement device from his drawer and put his right hand on it. The device shined than showed 3820E.P on the screen. Adam was excited as he became so close to being a four stars D-ranker. "It looks like I gained a lot from the last fight with the worms. Especially, that C-rank worm."

Then Adam sat in his usual spot of meditation beside his bed. And decided to start refining his inner energy again. Currently, he had mastered all of his skills except for The Golden Lion Flesh and Inner Energy Refinement Technique.

But he didn't practice the former because it was very hard and needs lots of time to show any results. So it wasn't a good choice for the small period that he still had before the tournament.

Instead, he decided to practice the later because it can make his inner energy stronger, which will increase the power of all the other skills that he uses. The technique has ten stages. Now he was in the second stage which made his energy two times stronger than usual. If he could make it to the tenth stage his inner energy would become ten times stronger. Thus, making all his energy-based skills ten times stronger.

Adam had now entered a race against time to see how far he can reach in this limited time that he still has.
