Level 2

As the students and instructor entered the watering grounds of the Gnolls, Lana looked at the instructor and asked.

"So are Gnolls strong and what do they look like?"

"Gnolls are strong but most of the runts that live closer to the surface are far weaker then the packs that roam the lower levels of the mine. And most Gnoll look like a deranged type of dog, they stand ruffly 5-6 feet tall and are covered in spotted fur." Said the instructor in an informative tone.

"Oh so how did they used to be Dwarves?" asked Lana.

"That story I don't know, but from what I do know it had something to do with black magic. Apparently the black magic mutated the dwarves into Gnoll and heightened their desires for treasure. But this is just my understanding I could be completely wrong." Said the instructor shrugging.

"Black magic, I guess that explains it black magic is a lost knowledge after all." Said Lana with a laugh.

"Hey guys somethings coming everyone get ready!" Said the young man at the front of the party.

"Lana there is one thing about Gnoll that was only mentioned once in all the ancient texts,.... they like to play with female humans and make them bare their young." Said the instructor while moving Lana behind him.

As the party of student adventurers crowded the small watering hole of the Gnolls, Spots watched from his mineshaft.

The mineshaft was the one he awoke in and was a dead end, so he didn't have to worry about any other creatures attack from behind.

"Damn humans, you come here and act so high and mighty, I'll show you and especially those girls hahaha." Laughted Spots from the shadows of his mineshaft while watching the adventures.

"Mhph, Mhph, I can smell my brethren they come to attack these humans, hmm then I will wait till they are exhausted." Said Spots while sniffing the air.

At that moment 3 Gnolls came out of the mineshaft's, each of the Gnolls had a pickaxe but one had a short sword on his waste.

"There here guys, form up and pick your targets, we have enough for two people on two, and I'll take the one in the middle alone." Said the leader at the front of the party.

"Ok." Said the group in unison.

"Oh it seems like their team work is quite nice, this might be a little difficult, and with the instructor here even more so, I should take him out first." Thought Spots as he watched from the shadows.

As the Gnolls and students started combat, it was clear that the students had the upper hand.

"This is easy, it's like the training dummies, they leave themselves wide open to attacks hahah!" Laughed one of the young male students.

"Yes, they are very simple creatures." Said the instructor with Lana at his side.

Lana was a war priest student, which meant she could use healing spell, and had some weak combat skills as well. This made her stay at the back of the group with the instructor.

As the fight continued the Gnolls started to take heavy damage; and thanks to Lana's healing spells the students had almost their full health still.

This is when Spots decided to attack.

"Hey instructor doesn't this seem a little to eas-?" Asked the worried Lana while moving to look at the instructor.

However what Lana saw was here instructor with a small dagger stabbed into his back, while he coughed up mouthfuls of blood.

*Cough, Cough*

*Splat*

As the instructors blood splattered onto the floor a white and black spotted Gnoll could be seen holding the dagger that was previously in the instructor back.

"I-instructor!!!!" Screamed Lana as she raised her hands to cast a healing spell.

But Spots was to fast and smacked the small girl hard sending her flying towards the wall of the mine.

At that moment the other 5 team members glances back while still in combat with the other Gnolls.

"Shit how did one get behind us." Said the young leader completely ignoring the death of their instructor.

Although he ignored the death, he knew that the group just lost their life line, especially now since the instructor was dead and the healer was badly injured leaning against the wall.

"Everyone listening up we retreat immediately someone grab Lana and let's move." Yelled the young leader in a strict tone.

"Nice leadership skills, to bad you will die here." Thought Spots as he looked at the group.

As the group made a break for Lana and the exit; Spots dashed between them. He didn't care about the girl at the moment he just wanted to stop the group from leaving.

"So you wanna fight whitey, fine, guys y'all take the Gnolls behind us I'll deal with this one." Yelled the leader in a mocking manner.

Spots took a open stance ready to move; throughout the fight with the other Gnolls he noticed that the young leader didn't move a lot, this meant all his stamina was directed to his powerful attacks, and couldn't sacrifice any for agility.

"This is the perfect opportunity to throw the students into chaos." Thought Spots.

"I'll kill you, you mutt." Screamed the young leader as he charged at Spots.

Spots dodged to the side and counter attacked with his rusty dagger.

The dagger wasn't sharp enough to pierce through the armor of the young leader and only cause sparks as it slid off.

"Damn, I need to find his weak spots, or I will die for sure." Thought Spots as he rapidly backed away; looking all over the young leaders body.

He found that the leaders weakest spots where on his elbows and the back of his neck along with his armpits and knees.

"Ok, now I just need to wait till he strikes again, then I'll end him."

At the exact moment the young leader swung his sword at Spots, in a downward thrust leaving himself completely open.

He thought that all the Gnolls would just let the young leader hit them without moving however, he was wrong, even though the Gnoll dodged the first strike he didn't think it would do it again.

Spots moved in between the sword closing the 3 foot gab and plunged his rusty dagger in the young leaders armpit then again in his neck.

As the young leader fell to the ground devoid of all signs of life, the others just finished killing the other 3 Gnoll to turn and look at the sight.

"B-Brian!!" Yelled Mira.
