19 Outted

Aminah....,

It had been a rough morning, my throat was still burning from vomiting out all of last nights contents. Wardell tiredly rubbed my back and held my hair up.

"Are you sure you're not pregnant?" He looked down at me nervously.

"I can't be pregnant!" I shouted frustratedly leading myself into a coughing fit.

"Take it easy." He cooed softly behind me.

"I can't take it easy, y-you might have a baby you don't even know about. It would be too much if I... if I'm pregnant right now." I grabbed the edge of the toilet and slowly pulled myself up to the sink.

"It wouldn't be a burden you know, if you're pregnant I'd be more than elated. You worry too much Aminah." He chuckled placing a kiss on my forehead.

I weakly washed my face and brushed my teeth. After I was finished Wardell lifted my whole body up. I instantly grabbed unto his shoulders and sighed.

"You don't have to carry me Wardell." I gave him a small smile as he laid me in our bed.

"I don't know what else I should do, when Ayesha was pregnant she mostly called on her mother for help. My mother and I aren't speaking, the only person I can call is Sydel."

"Wardell it's okay, all I need you to do is make me some tea and cuddle with me." I chuckled holding his hand. He nodded nervously and placed another kiss on my forehead.

"Are you okay enough to stand up by yourself?" He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist while I brushed my teeth. I smiled weakly at him and nodded.

"I'll be fine Wardell." I fanned him off quickly.

"A-alright." He hesitated to leave me alone for a moment before disappearing into the hallway.

My body had already felt weak from emptying my insides out and I felt pooped. It didn't help that I could barely stand up for too long without feeling a little faint. My mouth was dry after brushing my teeth and all I really wanted was some food and to be held. I sighed and took small steps toward the couch in our room.

Before I could sit down Riley ran in the room and threw herself into me. All the wind inside my body was instantly knocked out of me. I stumbled hard and slammed into the wall just as Wardell walked in. He dropped the warm towel and box of tea in his hand and immediately rushed to my side.

"Riley why'd you do that!!?" He yelled loudly at her scaring me as well with his booming voice.

She jumped at his tone and her lips began to tremble. Riley's omnipresent smile was gone and she was nervously twiddling her fingers. I was too winded from the impact to say anything right away. Wardell realized how harsh he came off quickly and sighed. Before we both knew it she had tears streaming down her face and she zipped out of the room quicker then I could blink.

Wardell held me as his face turned red from embarrassment. He knew he made a huge mistake. His strong arms held me firmly as he eased me down unto the couch.

"You should apologize to her, she couldn't have known I wasn't feeling well Wardell." I coughed a bit due to my dry throat.

"I know baby. J-just let me take care of you first." He barely whispered.

"I'm fine. I need you to speak to Riley first." He groaned and gave me a bit of side eye.

"Aminah that can wait. Alright? Stop pushing it." He let go of my weak body and I fell into the softness of the couch.

I cringed a little in pain and Wardell groaned frustratedly with a shocked face. "S-sorry. Which tea do you want?" He placed the warm towel on my stomach and pointed to the mint and ginger tea he brought in earlier.

"Mint is fine." I rolled my eyes at his childlike stubbornness.

"I'll be back with it soon."

A couple hours later....,

After a little nap and a good meal I was back at full capacity and feeling way better. Riley hasn't touched my room since Wardell yelled at her this morning and it worried me. I took a quick shower and slipped on his hoodie and his boxers. My curly mess of a hair was in a bun and I threw on the first pair of fuzzy socks that caught my eye.

When I walked out of the room Wardell greeted me with a plastic bag and shoved it toward me. He looked away with his face reddening and nudged my shoulder so I'd take the bag.

"What is it?" I glared at him and walked around him.

"See for yourself." He looked away nervously and nudged the bag toward me again.

"You're acting weird Wardell." I stared at the bag for a moment and kept avoiding it.

"Will you jus- Aminah please?" He sighed and his shoulders slumped desperately.

"Did you speak to Riley yet?" I pressed.

"No." He grunted annoyed.

"Why're you avoiding it so much? If you think that'll kill your relationship with her you're delusional." I smiled and pulled him into me to ease his distress.

He sighed and pulled away from me. "It's not that I'm worried about." My heart skipped a beat at his reaction to me. He never acts like this. I sighed awkwardly.

"Throw me a bone here Wardell." I scoffed getting fed up with his hints.

"It's nothing for you to worry about Aminah. Here, take this already." He threw the bag at me even more irritated then before and stood up.

"What is with your attitude?" I stood up quickly along with him.

My head felt dizzy and I immediately doubled over. Wardell grabbed my waist before I hit the floor and held me closer to him. His eyes were wide and mine squeezed shut. I slowly pushed him off of me and stormed into the room we shared. He rushed after my angry self but I locked the doors behind me as quickly as I could.

"Minah come on, open the door." He banged on it harshly and I ignored him.

"....Open the fucking door." He groaned. This time I could hear him forcefully kicking it from time to time.

As time ticked by unusually fast, an hour past by. Wardell had still been banging on the door a little more then expected. In the meantime, i looked through my facebook and hummed a small song to myself to pass time. Wardell groaned again before kicking the door super hard one last time. After that it was quiet and his footsteps went further and further away on the direction of Riley and Ryan's room.

I stared at the plastic bag on the bed and scratched my inner palm. If there's one thing I was honestly nervous about it's being pregnant with his child. I looked away from the bag and stared at the ceiling for a while. A baby with him would be too soon. We just started this relationship thing a couple months ago and everything was already becoming too much.

Every second that passed, I tried to lose myself in my social media and all the ridiculous memes on my wall. However, nothing could take my mind off of the plastic bag Wardell gave me. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew it was a pair of pregnancy tests. It had my mind stagnant on the idea that I really was pregnant.

"Fuck." I threw my phone own in front of me and rushed over to the bag.

When I opened the bag, there were two clear-blue pregnancy tests staring right back at me. My hands started to shake and I tried to take a deep breath in and out to calm myself down. What's the big deal? It's just a test right? I'll pass it with flying colors because I'm not pregnant... right? I rubbed my forehead thinking way too hard.

"Alright, here goes." I grabbed both the tests and scurried to the bathroom in our bedroom that we shared.

I could feel my anxiety going through the roof by just unboxing the pregnancy test. I slowly pulled off my shorts and my underwear and squatted over the toilet. Hopefully, I'm just overthinking this whole situation and it's just food poison again. I stuck the two tests underneath me while I urinated. As soon as I was done I wiped myself and sat the two tests on the counter. Now it was only a matter of time.

As I waited on the test responses I paced around the bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror. My body still felt a bit weak almost like I was about to randomly double over again. I grabbed the side of the basin and sat myself on the top of the toilet. I spent five minutes staring off into space before my eyes caught the answers to the test.

Just then the door to our bedroom busted open and Wardell rushed into the bathroom. Our eyes locked and I immediately looked away while the tests caught his eyes as well. Right after he saw the results, Wardell stormed out.

I stared at the floor more confused then ever.
