18 Devious

Aminah...,

After the small conference room incident, Wardell has been so worried about me and hell bent on the idea of me being pregnant. I swore up and down that I couldn't be pregnant but he won't take me serious, however, I couldn't really take myself serious either.

"Baby come on, don't keep dismissing me. It's been almost a week." He sighed while quickly dragging his socks on.

"I know, it's just that I can't see myself pregnant right now..." I groaned while gluing my eyelashes on.

"You still wear those things... baby you don't need em." He chuckled attempting to smack the eyelash out of my hands.

"... don't start this war Curry." I glared at him.

"Alright, Alright, I wont interrupt but I must say... I don't mind being your babydaddy." He smirked goofily placing a quick kiss on my lips.

"I'm so annoyed with you." I laughed.

Riley and Ryan were with Sydel for the week since I hadn't been feeling too good. Wardell and I stayed home cuddled up watching movies and binge watching shows on Netflix and Hulu. But of course our Friday had to be ruined with another minor lawyer meeting.

I looked through my closet for something decent to wear that went along with my mood. Everyday I still had some morning sickness running through me. I found a sleeveless burgundy bodysuit and threw it on. I threw on My furry slides and cardigan to match and waited a couple minutes before I pulled my hair into a quick messy bun.

Wardell stared at me confused, "You been making up your face all day. What's bothering my beautiful angel?"I couldn't help but smile at what he said, he always seemed to make my mood a million times better.

"It's nothing Bebe, I just miss the girls and I'm really hungry." I chuckled lightly

"Aww don't worry, we're getting them today after the meeting."

"I know." I huffed.

About 2 hours later

Wardell and I arrived outside of Ayesha's new condo. She told us to get here by 11am so we could get this whole situation over with and send everything in so the court could do it's job.

Wardell gave me a reassuring smile as the doorman greeted us and we headed inside. There were a bunch of elevators with a code you need to type in in order to enter the condo.

"A little bit extra don't you think?" I rose an eyebrow up at Wardell gesturing towards the keypad.

He chuckled and pulled me closer in his arms while typing in the digits. "Unnecessarily extra baby..."

The elevator stopped after passing a couple floors and a loud a small beep went off before we were allowed to push open the front door. When we walked in the place was nice and simple but barely decorated. Ayesha stood at the door waiting with a huge smirk on her face.

"So glad you could make it." She gestured toward her living room and Wardell held my hand leading me there.

When we made it down the hallway, Wardell froze in place. In the living room, Seth sat there comfortably with a very bruised face, along with Wardell's parents, Sydel, and the girls. I didn't know what to do for him in a situation like this.

"This is what I mean by you take shit too fucking far." Sydel flung a pillow off the couch at Seth and attempted to run up to him a couple of times. Her father made sure to keep hold of her while her mother sat on the couch holding unto Seth's hands.

No one noticed us staring at them yet because Sydel was in the middle of an argument yelling at Seth and their parents were both trying to calm them down.

In less then a minute Ryan screamed out, "Maaaa my.." and everyone's heads snapped to the left.

Ryan threw herself around my legs and cheesed hard. Riley, on the other hand, slowly trudged up to me, grabbed hold of my hands and laid her head on my side. "Mommy c-can we go home. I don't wanna be here anymore." Her eyes started watering terribly.

Sydel's mouth was left ajar seeing Riley's response, as was everyone else's. Seth kept his eyes on Wardell who had the blankest face on. I bent down to Riley's level and wiped away her tears.

"Don't cry Peanut." I could feel myself getting emotional.

The only times Riley has cried around me was either when she got hurt, was sad, or wasn't feeling good. Riley buried her face in my chest and I held her there. Ryan happily leaned against me utterly unaware of what was going on around her.

Wardell finally sighed deeply, "Wow." He raised his hand to scratch the back of his head and turned around to glance at the girls and I.

"Wardell..." his mother called toward him and he just glanced at her for a moment before shaking his head at her.

"What the fuck is this supposed to be? Huh? An intervention or some shit?" He laughed heartily and sighed shaking his head.

"Wardell I swear I didn't know anything about this..." Sydel walked up to him nervously.

"I know Syd, you're not the type for bullshit like this. I'm not mad at you. I'm not mad at anybody, no.. I-I don't know how the hell I'm supposed to feel at this point."

Finally, Wardell pressed the elevator button so that it could come back up. His face was red with anger and I didn't know how to approach him at the moment. Riley was still hiding her face in my chest and Ryan pranced over to her Daddy.

"Hi Princess.." he sighed and lifted her into his hands. Wardell's whole demeanor changed.

I stood up and Riley continued to hold on to me for dear life. Her small hands tugging tightly on the seams of my bodysuit.

"It's okay Peanut, we're leaving now, okay?" I bent down to her level again and engulfed her into a big hug.

She let go of my suit and wrapped her tiny arms around my body. I felt so bad that she had to be around all this negative energy. It was almost like Ayesha didn't care for the mental health of her own babies. The lawyers will most definitely hear about this one. I lifted Riley unto my hip as she kept her head down in the crook of my neck.

"Where are you going with my children, home wrecker?" Ayesha grabbed me by the shoulder. In a swift movement, Wardell snatched her hand away from mine and backed her into a wall.

"Don't touch her." My eyes went wide at his sudden change in aggression. I quickly grabbed his hand pulling him back toward the elevator shaft.

"It's alright baby, it wasn't that serious. I'm okay... really I'm fine." I rubbed his hand and stared him straight in the eyes getting him to pay attention to me so that he didn't do anything stupid again.

I breathed out a deep sigh of relief as he slowly began to calm down and the elevator doors opened. Just as we were about to leave, Joshua and Julie came out the door.

"We're all here on time today, huh?" She chuckled but her sly smirk went away the moment she sensed the tension in the air and read the room.

"....how bout we have a talk in the lobby?" She gave Wardell a small smile and stepped back into the elevator with us right behind her.

As soon as the doors shut I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. "Thank you Julie." Wardell let out a small sigh.

Ryan looked down at me swinging her little toy around on Wardell's shoulder. I made faces at her so that she'd laugh and ease the mood a bit more. Wardell smiled at me seeing what I was trying to do and wrapped an arm around me.

"Minah...."

I looked up at him nervously, "Yea baby.."

"...Thank you for not letting me lose my cool up there." He bit his lip and looked at with eyes filled of so much love.

"Of course papa, I can't let you do anything stupid when you wouldn't mind being my babydaddy right...?" I chuckled relaying his joke from earlier to him.

He cracked a huge smile and laughed a little. "You always seem to make my day. You know that?"

Wardell quickly regained his chummy composure from earlier when we were home and relaxing. Julie sighed a huge breath of a relief and led us to one of the lobby tables.

"What the hell happened up there? It felt way too weird to stay.." she sat down quickly and glared at the both of us equally.

Wardell sat Ryan on his lap and Riley pushed a chair next to me to sit in. Her sad eyes were gone and she was just as chummy as Wardell again. Talk about Wardell's twin huh?

"We walked into a weird situation." I spoke up and wrapped my arm around Wardell's tense back.

"How weird is weird?"

"Well, Ayesha has his whole family waiting on him like a damn intervention or some shit. I want to beat that bitch upppp." I huffed annoyed with acting like an adult.

Riley covered my mouth and shook her head no quickly. "Bad words Mommy." Her adorable face made me smile and forget about my small issue.

"I'm sorry Peanut, won't happen again." I smiled innocently.

"That's definitely not okay because the agreement is to keep this between the three of you, and no children are to be brought along into situations like this." Julie angrily slapped her files on the table.

"That little smut." I groaned.

"Wardell hasn't said a word since we sat down. You alright big man? You can handle this Right?" I watched as he nodded and grabbed unto my hand a little tighter.

"Alright, first I need her to clear out the house and I'll need someone you trust to watch these beauties."

Riley smiles at Julie, "You're pretty too."

"Why thank you Ms. Riley..." she chuckled and handed both Riley and Ryan a chocolate coin.

"Oh my gosh! Thankssss" Riley Shouted excited and as energetic as always.

"What do you say?" I nudged Ryan who was too busy playing with the candy.

"Sank youuuu!" She cheesed hard at Julie then wrapped her little body around Wardell's neck.

Even that couldn't bring a smile out of Wardell's hard face. "H-Hey Juelz..., would you mind watching these little ones for a moment?"

I bit my lip wondering what was going on in his head that he was so tense. "No problem, do you." She smiled softly as Ryan jumped on her and she handed Riley her phone to play on.

I led Wardell outside to the front of the building so that he could get some fresh air. For a moment he just leaned against the railing and closed his eyes. I didn't know Ayesha took things like this extremely far. He gave me a small forced smile and cracked his fingers.

"If I knew Ayesha would do this I wouldn't have brought you into such an awkward situation. I'm sorry Mimi." He sighed and pulled me into a deep hug.

"That's not what I carried you out here to speak about." I pulled his face down toward mine and kissed his nose.

"...Are you okay?"

Wardell looked me straight in the eyes then looked away from me before starting to stutter. "I-I'm fine..."

Just before he tried to give me a fake smile I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him into a well deserved hug. I tilted my head up toward his ear and whispered. "You should know better then to try and hide your feelings from me by now baby. I can tell how you're feeling just by looking at you."

Wardell went from being tense to calmly resting in my arms. His shoulders began to loosen and he pulled me closer and dug his face deeper into my embrace. "I hate that you know me this well already." He smirked a bit and sighed.

"We can go home if you want..." I caressed his soft face and kissed his soft lips.

"No, I want to finish filing all of this now so that everything can go in."

"I understand." I smiled softly.

Another 30 minutes later....

Wardell, the girls, and I were sitting patiently waiting on Julie to escort the whole Curry family out of the condo so that we could finish up what we came here to do.

In a couple seconds Seth walked by first followed by Wardell's parents. It seemed as if they were chasing after him for some reason. My thoughts about their situation was interrupted by Julie approaching us with Sydel behind her.

"Alright, the house is clear. Only Ayesha and Joshua are upstairs. Sydel, here, will watch those cuties for you guys until you're done with the meeting. So Are you guys ready?" She straightened out her dress and fixed a piece of hair hanging in front of her right eye.

"As ready as can be...." I smiled softly and rubbed Wardell's back.

Who knew in a couple of months I'd be acting like a damn wife? I couldn't believe it myself. As we got up to go back into that bitch's home, I hugged Sydel and thanked her for doing this little favor for us. She smiled back softly and gave Wardell a small playful punch on his shoulder, earning a small chuckle.

As we got in the elevator once more Julie spoke, "Well, this time don't say too much unless you really feel like you need too. I already know what you want and how to get it."

"Thanks Juelz." Wardell stood up a bit straighter seeing that he could breathe a little easier when Julie handled things.

The doors opened and this time we entered the living room with much more confidence. Ayesha had a nervous look in her eyes as Wardell glared at her. I sat down quietly next to him, and he, next to Julie.

"Okay, first things first, do you agree to the deal I proposed with the supervised visits or not?" She flat out grilled Joshua and Ayesha.

"My client agrees, however, if it comes to pass that this current case results in Ayesha not being guilty then we will fight this agreement." Joshua spoke up.

I let out a huge breath I didn't know I was holding. Hopefully, everything works out and we get full custody of the girls.

"Okay, now back to spouse support. It says here that you want 50 percent of what Wardell makes-

"The fuck? You're not getting anything from me." Wardell yelled as soon as the words left Julie's mouth.

Ayesha smirked at Wardell and then Joshua smirked at Julie. "You might have to think twice about that sir." Joshua pulled up a file deep within his bag.

"What's this about?" Julie grilled him hard.

"My client definitely can ask for 50 percent of what you make because she just had your child recently."

Wardell's eyes widened in surprise and I could feel my body freeze. Julie immediately slammed her hands on the table. "It's impossible that this is his child. I'm positive Wardell and Ayesha haven't had any contact since he moved out of their home."

Wardell had been too shocked to say a word. My head felt fuzzy hearing those words and I stood up. "I, I need a breather."

Just like that the start of a nasty divorce has begun.
