28 Coast of Breland

Aminah....,

It was Sunday afternoon, and I was back in my basement like apartment. I haven't seen nor heard Wardell's voice since I got back and it seemed unusual. Even though I don't touch the main floor unless the girls are here, I decided doing something for him wouldn't hurt. After all, I still cared about him tremendously. I took a quick shower and dragged on a tank top and my favorite shorts. I hesitated for a while on the steps but eventually, I opened the door and walked up to the foyer.

From the sounds of it, his teammates, Andre and Shawn were in the living room yelling at the TV along with him. I quietly crept by avoiding any greetings and awkward conversations. They looked so into it, I didn't want to disturb them anyways. I rushed to the kitchen and whipped out my favorite pan so I could make them some lasagna and bbq chicken with salad. As much as I kept the noise to a minimum, all three men were in the kitchen in a jiffy when I dropped a fork.

"Ahh-oh h-hey guys....," I muttered embarrassed. Andre walked up to me and gave me a gentle hug followed by Shawn. I wasn't used to him being here even when I was around.

"W-What are you doing in here?" Wardell mumbled squinting his eyes at me confused.

"What I can't cook for them? I was starting to get bored downstairs." I looked away feeling defeated.

"It's fine, I'll order food." Wardell turned around and started to walk away.

There was probably nothing i could do to make up for what happened with Klay. Andre stayed in the kitchen with me while I cooked anyways, holding interesting conversations that kept me from wondering about Wardell. Shawn had already followed behind Wardell to calm him down or whatever and i was fine with it. It's not like what I was doing was bothering him. He loved my food, a little anger wasn't going to stop me from feeding him. Andre looked up at me a little confused at the face I was making.

"Hey, you okay ?" He stood up noticing that I was holding the bridge of my nose. As soon as I looked up he was standing in front of me with a concerned face. I looked up and leaned in a little since he was super tall just like Wardell.

"H-Hey uh..., you mind if I ask how's Wardell?" I bit my lip expecting an honest answer.

"He's a little m-

"Oh so you're gonna fuck him too?" Wardell's voice boomed from the hallway and I immediately stepped away from Andre.

"What the fuck man? It's not even like that, you don't have to speak to her like that either." Andre scrunched up his face getting pissed off.

"I-It's fine Dre." I patted his shoulder and turned back around toward the sink.

"...and look at you taking up for her hoe ass." Wardell hissed his teeth and strutted away.

"He did not mean that." Andre turned around quickly trying to console me since I started tearing up.

"No, I know he meant it, but it's okay." I wiped my eyes and continued to make the meat sauce as the pasta boiled.

"I'll go speak to him." Andre sighed disappointed.

"It's fine. Just answer my question from before, I'll be alright." I nodded trying to reassure him. Andre looked at me with eyes full of pity and sighed again.

"I don't know, he seemed fine to me but I noticed he wasn't taking care of himself the way he always does. It's almost like he doesn't give a fuck, he's miserable and I don't know how to help. He must really love you." Andre chuckled.

"I doubt that- seeing Ayesha outside of the house crossed my mind and I looked away from him more annoyed then before. "-but I'll do my best to get him back to his old self." I smiled softly.

"You have such a good heart. I feel bad letting you deal with his shitty attitude at a time like this. Anyways I'll see you another day, I'm gonna talk to him then leave." Andre smiled back and nodded toward me before running off.

I just got back to the house and I already wanted to leave again. Even more reason for me to find a new place to live and get back on my feet again. After Andre left, his friend Shawn stayed in the living room waiting for Wardell return. I awkwardly kept cooking since I already was halfway done. Eventually, Wardell made his way downstairs and I couldn't help but steal glances at him. I didn't plan on bothering him anymore but I was worried. A second later and he was back in the kitchen glaring at me.

"I already said I'd order food." He spoke with a deep disheartening voice. I could've bare to look him directly in the face.

"I know." I quietly continued to cook.

"So why the hell you still going for?" He turned the stove off and waited.

"I don't owe you any explanations and you're certainly not my father. Stop speaking to me like a child." I gritted my teeth struggling to hold back my annoyance.

"You're in my section of the house, get out." He groaned trying to throw the food away.

"What the fuck Wardell?" I grabbed the pan of hot chicken and we continued to yank it from one another's hands.

Just as I was about to let go of the pan, he let go first and I fell with the hot pan right on my skin. Wardell's eyes widened and he immediately grabbed the pan while I screamed in pain from getting burnt. He dashed the pan in the sink and lifted me up unto the chair. His eyes looked panicked as he pressed a cold rag on my super red arms and thighs. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore and I started sniffling. Shawn came running in from the living room worried and Wardell couldn't find the words to explain himself.

"Shit..., I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for that to h-

"I don't care Wardell, just pass me the damn cold rags please." I yelled at him writhing in pain. He didn't speak another word to me for the moment.

After a while the pain didn't hurt as much and the red burn marks started to turn into welts. Wardell cleaned his hands in the sink and disappeared upstairs to get the Vaseline. I didn't want My skin to become extremely discolored because of a petty ass accident. Moments later he was by my side rubbing the grease on the welts as gently as he could. Even now I still couldn't look him in the eyes as he looked up at me. I didn't know what to say. It didn't take him long to finish rubbing the Vaseline on me; he sighed heavily and we both started to clean up the kitchen. As soon as we finished I broke our awkward silence by running off at the mouth.

"I'm sorry for coming up here, I shouldn't have invaded your privacy like that. S-sorry, bye." I snatched my phone off the island and rushed to the basement as quickly as I could. From the corner of my eye I could see he just stood there with his head down clutching the Vaseline with an extra tight grip.

A few hours later....,

As I was watching tv, I got a text from Dean and my mood lifted immediately. He was talking about taking me out on a date later in the week and having me stay over his house. My heart fluttered at the sound of  that and I couldn't stop smiling. Just then, an unknown number texted me saying 'Good after noon beautiful.' I furrowed my brows in confusion. Then when I asked who it was, the number replied, 'Breland'. Right after that I received a FaceTime call and my eyes went wide. I didn't look crazy but it was random as hell.

"Hey gorgeous, what you up too?" He licked his juicy lips and turned the wheel in front of him.

"I hope you weren't driving and texting." I cut off his adorable greeting, and he chuckled.

"Oh, you're worried about lil ole me." I watched as his arms flexed and Jaw clenched as he drove.

"Maybe a little bit." I smiled.

"Thank you, but I was parked when I messaged you. Got any plans tonight?" He bit his lip and nervously awaited my answer.

"No, but I am pretty hungry." I smirked

"How about movies and takeout at my place? Ion got no intentions either, I promise." He ran off at the mouth right over.

"Who said you did?" I laughed at his obvious nervousness.

"I'll come if you send me the addy. What time should I be getting ready?"

"How about now? I'll send you my address as soon as I get home. Gotta clean up, you know? Look presentable." He smirked, taking his bottom lip under his teeth again.

"Uhuhhh boy bye. Send me the address, I'll go ready up." I smiled waving to the camera.

"Alright Gorgeous, Be safe." He licked his lips and hung up.

I rushed to the bathroom and stripped whilst checking on the welts I had from earlier. It seemed like in such a small matter of time all the swelling had gone down. Some of the little welts still felt a bit sore but I chose to go anyways just to brighten my day. I couldn't understand what was going through Wardell's mind anymore. I threw on a long sleeve v-neck crop top and some jeans before heading out.

When I stepped outside I could feel the humidity in the air and how hot it was outside. It was baking and I rushed to the car to get out of the heat. Wardell's eyes burnt holes into my back as I continued to leave. Just then, a familiar car pulled up to the entrance of the house and I immediately looked out for who it was. Ayesha and another woman sped right up into the driveway and I could feel my blood boiling. I stepped out of the car for a moment just to watch her leave the vehicle and strut her way inside our damn house. My heart began beating out of my chest as Wardell opened the front door. For a moment, we locked eyes but I looked away quickly, reminding myself that this had been going on for a while. They really suited each other.

I slowly stepped back into the car with a heavy heart and endless thoughts. The girls were coming back within the next 40 hours and we both needed to get it together as much as possible. Going on like this could never work out. We were both way too petty as old as we are. The thoughts running through my mind disappeared when Breland messaged me. I grabbed unto the automatic transmission and backed out. Ayesha turned around and smirked at me, waving as I tried to leave as fast as I could. Nothing aggravated me more.

My phone rang and Sydel's name blinked across the phone. "Hey pretty lady, how's your day going ?" She smirked.

"Well from the looks of it, I'm already annoyed. You wouldn't believe what just fucking happened." I groaned stopping at the red light.

"I'm all ears." She laughed.

"That bitch Ayesha came rolling through the gates of the damn house right past me like she was top bitch or something. She even had the audacity to wave and smile at me. Bitch, I've never been more tempted to snatch a bitch in my life." I sighed irritated.

"Wow, she's really doing a lot for someone who cheated on Wardell."

"Tell me about it. How are you and hubby?"

"So far, so good. I hope this marriage thing stays this easy, you know?"

"Yeah, I get you. I'm hoping for a long marriage and many cute kiddos. Cause I am not settling for now, the reason I had before Is most definitely gone."

"Don't talk like that bitch, y'all gonna work out eventually. It might take some time but I believe in y'all. But any news on you and Dean?"

"I mean we've been texting and girl, that sex was mind blowing." I chuckled while pulling into Breland's driveway.

"Maybe you guys might become a thing if my brother keeps acting like an asshole. Who knows? Maybe that's who you settle with right there? As much as I would prefer Wardell, Dean isn't so bad either." She sighed almost as if she were imagining it.

"Girl....., Bye. I'm about to go on a date with the boy from the fast food place." I laughed whole heartedly.

"Shoot, maybe him?" She snorted before laughing harder.

"I'm so tired of you... Later, Love you." I chuckled.

"Love you more, stay safe."

Right after that phone call, I called Breland and let him know I was outside. Being that it was a private house, I didn't know which bell was his. A couple seconds later, I seen him poke his head out through the window and look around. After that, the front door opened and he came skipping outside shirtless and wet with basketball shorts on. My eyes went wide when I saw the bulge in his shorts. Oh my,

"Ahyy Gorgeous, I just got out the shower. Didn't think you'd reach so quick, come on up." He chuckled.

"It's okay to leave my car in the driveway?" I cleared my throat feeling a bit antsy.

"Yeah the whole three floors is mine, I bought it. I put my Grandma on the first, and my Momma on the second." He chuckled again rubbing his neck.

"awww you must be a mommas boy, how sweet." My smile toward him was as genuine as can be.

Breland led me toward the elevator and I noticed there were four floors. We reached the third and I held the entrance from closing in. "What's on the third floor?" He turned around and smirked.

"The rooftop, there's like a pool and other extra shit. I renovated this whole place. Cool, right?" He gestured toward his front door that he held open for me.

From the moment I walked into his home, it was stunning. The floor was tiled and shiny and his kitchen had a stainless steel flow. The island opened right into the living room where it's color scheme was red and black. Everything looked so neat and straight off of a catalog. I was Beyond impressed. The bathroom was to my right from the entrance and bedrooms were on both sides of the apartment. Everything was absolutely stunning.

"Does every floor look like this?" I let my mind wonder.

"Nah, my Mom's floor has four bedrooms because I have two little sisters and it's a little nicer. She told me what she wanted so I executed it for her. And my Grandparents' place and mine have three bedrooms." He nodded looking content.

"Wow, you're amazing. If I ever have a son, I hope he cares for me as much as you do for yours."

Breland smirked, trying to hide the embarrassment on his face. I laughed at his Child like actions and kicked my heels off. He took that moment to run off to his room and put some actual clothes on. I got comfortable on the couch and sipped on my cold bottle of water. It was pretty hot outside and I wasn't trying to die of heat exhaustion. The ac in here was nice and cool and I was thoroughly enjoying this small break from Wardell. When he came back to the living area, we ordered Chinese takeout and binge watched the first season of some random comedy show we going on Netflix.

Everything continued to go well. We went from talking about the show to talking about ourselves and more. It was evident that Breland and I got along extremely well, it made me think he'd be better off as a friend. All my life I've been very driven to family oriented, decent, people, and he happened to be one of them.

"Hey Breland....," he looked up to me with an egg roll stuffed in his mouth. I couldn't help but bust out laughing.

"Fuck funny?" He laughed while chewing horridly.

"Don't you think we work well together?"

"Yea why?" He continued to eat his egg roll, drenching it in duck sauce.

"I was thinking we'd be better off as friends. After spending such a small amount of time with you I realized I really really like you as a person. This vibe we have is truly amazing." I bit my lip hoping he wouldn't have any hard feelings toward what I said. For a while, he had this distant look in his eyes and then he smiled genuinely at me.

"It's funny, I was thinking the same exact thing. You remind me of my older sister, you're a lot like her."

"Awww, I'm beyond flattered. I hope I get to meet her one day. I kind of thought you'd be the oldest sibling." I chewed my last spoon of rice slowly.

"Actually, She was my twin but she died a couple months back giving birth to my nephew." I choked a little taken back by the sudden news and causing him to bust out laughing.

"I'm so sorry to hear that, oh that poor baby..., he'll be fine as long as he has you guys and his dad." I smiled softly.

"My sister was actually raped, and didn't want him at all. But for some reason when it came to his life or hers, she preferred his." Breland stared hard at the wall in attempt not to cry.

"I'm sorry this happened to her, and I'm sorry you have to feel this way but I promise it gets better." I sighed regretting how much I ran off at the mouth. Breland wiped his face super quick after I gave him a long comforting hug.

"You can meet him if you want. I mean he is my son now, he's just downstairs with his Grandma since she knew I was having a guest." He chuckled nervously rubbing his neck.

"I don't want to overstep any boundaries so quickly, I'm sure I'll meet him eventually. That is if you are planning on being one of my good friends." I rolled my eyes playfully. Breland chuckled and nudged me on my shoulder.

"Well of course i am, a nigga don't plan on being by his doley forever." He chuckled.

A couple more hours passed and I was ready to go home. Spending time with Breland made my day so much better. I felt completely replenished and my mood was on the highest level it could be on. I'd always been the type to want to make new friends right away, especially when the person is as genuine and cool as he is. The only thing dampening my high spirits was the idea of returning to the house I shared with Wardell. As usual, I was never ready for what was to come.

I stepped through the front door for the first time in a long while. The foyer was quiet and I didn't notice the sounds of moans coming from the living room. My heels were clicking loudly through the hallway as I made my way to the kitchen to get what I left upstairs earlier. As soon as I turned my head to the left I could see Wardell and a random female going at it to their hearts content. My eyes widened and my heart stopped at the sight in front of me. I knew we were both treating each other like shit but I would never put myself in a position where he'd see someone else and I going at it.

The bag of food I thought my hand was securely holding dropped to the floor and somewhat splattered, making a loud clashing noise. Wardell looked up immediately and I turned my head to the side as quick as I could. Tears were already flowing down my face and for the first time I couldn't control them. It wasn't like me to care this much about what he was doing. After all, I too, cheated on him, even before Ayesha.

"Sorry I didn't kno- my bad..., I'll make my way o-

"Wait, I-It's not what you think." Wardell struggled to pull his boxers up and the girl covered her body with a face full of embarrassment.

"You don't have to apologize. We aren't together anymore." My hands shakily rushed to pick up my food and wipe up the extra sauce. Wardell rushed to face me as I finally stood back up.

My eyes were probably red and a bit puffy since the tears had already begun to fall. The veins on the side of his head and forehead were pulsing as he tried to hide the frustrated look on his face. Our eyes met for a mere second and we both looked away, not sure of what to say to one another. As if it was meant to happened, we both sighed and looked down before going our separate ways. I didn't know how much more my poor little heart could take. It'd been the first time in a very long time that I'd fallen in love with another man.
